The Order: 1886 leaks - new gifs, screenshots!

Except Titanfall actually does look pretty terrible, visually.

Im not talking about visually, just in general. People are going to come in, talk shit about the game, make generalizations, etc.
Any exclusive on both sides is going to have individuals scrambling to find some mud to fling, so desperate to make it seem less impressive or less exciting.

Visually:

  • The grain filter implementation makes it look fantastic (makes me reminisce about ME1)
  • Needs improved Anisotropic Filtering

The gunplay looks promising, judging from the brief clip. Also, the way the enemy falls from the shot to the leg is jaw-dropping. This is the kind of reaction-based gunplay I have been hoping for in next-gen games. Overall, so hyped to see more of this, The Order is climbing my most anticipated list.

It seems like an LOD bug to me.

That's what I thought. I've seen similar things happen in other games, so I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt. If that leaked screen was supposed to be from something official though, it wasn't the best choice.

Nah, it's just nice to know that a game is polished.

If you think a game is near polished 6 months+ from release. Wooooo boy.

I'm pretty certain Ready at Dawn will be able to locate this criminal row of bricks and execute it immediately.

But seriously, all this awesome flowing right now and it gets derailed by a few bricks. Augh

Looks nice, but I have yet to see anything other than the graphics to get me excited yet.

I kinda had my fill of game that are pure cover-based shooting last generation, but I do still enjoy games that add something to the formula like Mass Effect 2+3 having RPG mechanics and dialog choices between or during the shooter missions, or Tomb Raider having an emphasis on exploration and platforming.

Not hyped for this yet, but I'll keep my eyes on it.

Everything looks so fluid and precise. The gunplay looks a little weird, from a gif perspective, but it's not that bad. However, it's an interesting concept no doubt.

What's wrong with cover shooters though? Do people seriously like run and gun type shooters?

Assuming its crap from a few short gifs doesn't seem to be any different than assuming the game will be awesome from the same.

People react to the media they get - we have gifs and a few shots - so people will analyze and graphics boners will engorge - and gameplay guesswork will come to pass. Much will be pulled from a great many asses, and some novel bits may be accurately gleaned.

At least there's not long to wait for the full video.

Are we going to see previews and impressions and backgrounder articles to coincide with the video release?

i want to go on record to say while i sympathize with the brickgaters, you can find bad textures like that on every game on earth - including Witcher 3 and Uncharted 2 and whatever your favorite graphics game is, mine too. The important distinction is what the overall effect is, whether it occurs frequently or rarely, and whether or not it indicates some problem with the graphics engine. If you get that from those bricks, by all means.
Pretty much what I was trying to say (but you did it better).

You kidding me? This looks much more graphically impressive than Infamous. SS is an open world game and it looks amazing don't get me wrong, but from what I've seen of this it doesn't hold a candle. The character models blow anything in SS out of the water.

The flat geometry is what's putting me off I think. Plus we haven't really seen much yet and what he have seen hasn't matched the animation quality that Infamous has going on. Hell, we haven't even seen full character models really. I don't even...

Well said. It does work both ways

Lots of jumping to conclusions going on around here.

Good to see you back! I was legit worried there for a bit lol. That said, what's been seen so far from these not so great quality leaks looks okay but not mindblowing. I blame that on the crappy gifs mostly. The screenshot of mustache man with cloth behind him does look gorgeous though, love that soft candle lit look. They've certainly captured the feel of a period in time.

Ok, now I'm convinced that this will be the first "next gen" looking game. I'm amazed, really.
I can't wait for tomorrow... I'll be at the job... hopefully someone will youtube that ASAP.

Gameplay looks like generic TPS cover shooter with QTE sprinkled on for good measure in the gifs. I mean that was pretty much known at this point. But fucking hell, it's still dissapointing to me that a game set in such a fantastic setting is gonna revolve around one of the most boring types of gameplay in modern big budget games...

i'm of the opinion that we need more gears of war esque third person shooters. we certainly have our share of 1st person shooters already.

I'm just not liking the fact that we finally see some footage of the game and its in a narrow linnear alley. You would think that with this new gen it would open up a bit more.

This and Quantum Break are probably my most anticipated AAA single player experiences. I've never played a game from Ready at Dawn, but they definitely have my attention with this game.
