Funny that GoW was one of the most loved games last gen, but now the usual suspects just call a TPS boring and generic. What a change.

Releasing a high quality video on Gamersyde isn't going to change the fact that the gameplay looks mind numbingly boring.

I don't think anyone has issue with the quality of visuals seen in the Twitch stream. It looks phenomenal.

Lots of things I like about the game so far, and lot of things I dislike.

The graphics look amazing, and I still like the game's setting. The guns look cool as well. I prefer 3rd person shooters, over first person shooters. So I already liked that part about the game already.

Now onto the bad. That FPS was all over the place. I'm not sure if that was the game, or youtube being youtube. Either way, they need to get the FPS stable. In the last gameplay video, I saw a QTE. Seeing all the scripted moments in the game (telling from this video and the last), I hope it's not QTE heavy. I don't know why devs still use QTE's, even after everyone tells them that they hate them. Most games are getting points off of reviews just for putting QTE's in their game in the first place. So I don't know who thought that was a wise decision.

So I'm pretty 30-70 with this game right now. My cons are outweighing the pros, but I'm still interested for now.

I feel like people are just saying this, like a snowball running down a hill.

Because ducking behind cover when somebody is shooting at you never happened until Gears of War, and should never happen in any game not called Gears if War.

...all those cowboy movies and war movies where people duck behind stuff while getting shot. were all Gears of War clones. Even the ones made 50+ years before the people who made Gears of War were born.

...basically, all real wars in history where people ducked down behind stuff to avoid bullets, arrows, spears, or even rocks -- all Gears if War clones. Especially the battle of Hastings in 1066...that was a direct rip-off of Gears of War.

R.A.D. needs a video like TLoU's E3 video. This got everyone hype for the game and gave everyone a true feel for what it was aiming to do. These short videos are great for showing off everything they've said about the graphics, but it leaves people wondering and anxious about everything else they've talked about.

i don't like that cinematic gaming has become a pejorative because i think there's lots you can do with pacing and linearity, third person shooters are cool and i loved ready at dawn's psp games but all the gameplay snippets seem so lifeless and dull. i felt bored watching those sections.

i really hope they have a killer e3 demo. like uncharted 2 helicopter level stuff.

I agree with you when it comes to the 2nd or 3rd iteration in a franchise. I just had high hopes for this game/franchise to be something other than a great looking cover shooter. Especially at the start of a new gen, following a console generation that went on for far to long. Everything they've shown so far looks like more of the same in a new setting. But hey, that was 3 minutes and there might be zeppelin chases and carriage riding for all I know.

This what happens every gen , truth is i don't even know what people calling new game play .
All that happens is the same formula that we have been playing for years gets upgrading with the new power of the system .

Dude, chapter 3 is what? 30 minutes, maybe an hour into the game. Mechanics on how to shoot the weapon popped up, it still seemed like a tutorial like level.

Sony doesn't release hq videos anymore, they are YouTube only except for some rare cases where they either give the video to some site, or host it themselves. But it's usually against their new rule of pushing their YouTube channel as much as possible.

So yeah, 99% chance we won't host this video...

I love third person shooters, but they do need to be dynamic. Uncharted's combat sandboxes for example, think the ship graveyard, are very open and contain lots of verticality. Add decent AI and you have great cat and mouse type combat encounters.

That's what this game needs as well. More open, dynamic scenario's. That or RE4 quality design. I still have faith in RAD, but they do need to show something more substantial at E3.

yeah totally agreed. i think the derivative complaints are obscuring that it just doesn't look like an exciting third person shooter in what they've shown. that said i think you could make uncharted look really boring if you found a snippet of a low key part of an early level instead of its most exciting level designs that really take advantage of nate's agility, so maybe some hope.
