That may have been a Robin Williams death related tweet...?
lol, just fond this from one of CD's level designers:
Timed for sure, no way SE is this dumb to sign long exclusivity deal and loss PS4 sales.
Let me fix that back for you, seeing as Lara Croft and The Temple of Osiris is coming to PS4:
Saying Microsoft is pushing this deal to sell consoles isn't wrong, but to say it's a desperate move is just hilarious.
Microsoft made a smart move ensuring they have a product in the same genre to compete against Sony's biggest hitter in 2015 (assuming Uncharted isn't pushed into 2016). They've purchased Third Party titles before as exclusives, I don't consider it desperate, I consider it smart. It makes the Xbox brand look stronger while also covering the weak points Microsoft has in their lack of First Party Studios.
Bayonetta 2 was a much bigger deal though.
To be fair, every single time they nabbed a third party exclusive in recent memory, there's a negative shitstorm. Even in cases like Dead Rising 3 and Titanfall, when they were directly responsible for the continued existence of those games' development cycle.
SE keeps making "weird" decisions, especially considering the position they are in... will be interesting to see how exactly they are going to do with this... my bet is that this won't help them in the long run.
Person that told me about many MS 'things' previously is telling me it's indeed a timed exclusive.
It's for Holiday 2015, they've got lots of time. But realistically there won't be any counter, and Sony will just keep working on U4 is all.
Sony should strike a deal with capcom having SFV exclusive, the reactions would be the same.
Thanks for this. So I was definitely wrong.11:53 AM for me.
He tweeted this, 5 hours after that tweet which leads me to believe it wasn't related to Robin Williams.
It's kind of funny. In recent days I've actually been contemplating a purchase of the XB1 and shit like this...doesn't make me want one more, it puts a bad taste in my mouth and makes me want one less.
I'm not saying 'Fuck Microsoft I'll never buy one now' or anything like that, I just find this kind of thing distasteful. And yes, when Sony does it with timed dlc exclusive, it bugs me as well.

There's a petition to 'rescind the decision'...

LOL. DS2 came out 6 months ago.

I'll take your word for it. They way they've been so vague about this. Made it sound like a timed exclusive.Person that told me about many MS 'things' previously is telling me it's indeed a timed exclusive.
Shows up for me.Anyone else getting a "Sorry, that page doesnt exist" error when visiting Andrew Dovichi's Twitter?

What do you mean what product we are buying? If you're an XB1 owner, do you really care if the game is eventually coming to other systems? If you aren't, then you aren't buying the product at all. I hope this isn't coming across as snarky, I'm genuinely asking.

Maybe on Neogaf. Definitely not over all though.
Those reactions then where probably also heavily influenced by their DRM plans.
Anyway if they want to improve their image this shit doesnt help ...it will be seen by many gamers as a dick move.

What a waste of money. I don't think TR will sell Xbones.
Uncharted vs Tomb Raider next year
For the n-th time,

This. If anything this deal will do more harm than good for MS and SE; it will only piss of more people and hurt the franchise in a long run. MS will never learn, perhaps they should call themselves
Moneyhat Game Studios.
I have to say, I think this actually makes Microsoft look bad -- the opposite of what you're hoping for in these situations.
Basically, they just took millions of fans hostage.
Tomb Raider was announced as multi platform -- MS steps in and makes it so people can't play the game ... How do they think that will encourage those people to buy their system? It's kind of the opposite ... It'll piss them off and make them hate the company. If they had done this BEFORE the game was announced, it would be a completely different issue because the expectations would have been different. After the fact, you can't help but look like a villain.
