I would pay money for a P.T.-style game compilation

PT left a lasting impression on me, its a milestone if you ask me. Brilliant release, and it's awesome seeing everyone's reactions in going through the same experience.

I love this idea a lot. Have a dedicated team work together with various writers to create short bite-sized experiences. Like a short story that has a defined start, middle and end. It could be really impressive if done well.

I do not think you'll want to play PT with VR, honestly.

Just be sure to put on a diaper.

the fact that petey is free really undervalues the whole experience. i was really expecting a cinematic with some very limited adjustments to the camera, or a game demo that's just cut from a larger game. i can't tell if this was done as a response to ground zeroes backlash, if this was a proof of concept shopped around, or what have you, but i think this is the sort of thing that should be sold at retail for a good price, like $20 or something (which may be prohibitively expensive actually, but it really depends on dev costs).

the guild series on the 3ds is a similar idea, but at that point i don't know why they're supposed to be part of one package. i would rather have a piece of work speak for itself.

and i don't think the game needs any further elaboration. it's smartly designed, it tells a story, and it even, somehow, has secrets for the player to find. it just feels like a complete package to me.

I feel like this was Del toro's InSane project. It fits insanity in doing the same thing over and over trying to get a different result (result being leaving the house). I also believe that when they signed them for Silent Hill that it was too good to go unnoticed. They retooled it in fox engine, also giving the team experience on the engine, and created one of the most successful viral marketing campaigns in gaming history.

Edit: I think maybe paying for alphas on steam/psn might be a good thing, if it would spring up experiences like this.

Also , more people are talking about this then tomb raider, the order, and qb, so maybe people do want the short but well made experiences.

Nice, I remeber that. Id be suprised if this is the result of that InSane project because its very well made.

I would buy a game that had 7-10 P.T. concept games on a disk. They don't have to all be horror. They don't have to be even similar. But there's something absolutely striking to me about a game with no cut scenes, no button prompts, no complex controls, no traditional...I don't know, anything...that relies 100% on its sound design and art design to convey an experience. To me, this is absolutely unique and priceless. I would love to have the opportunity to experience more of these.
Could try The Stanley Parable, if you haven't already.

Both the Demonstration and the game itself, since they're different.

i said something like this in the P.T. thread. That i wish kojima made more small horror games like this. Seriously japan is full of horror stories and urban legends i wouldnt mind paying around 10-15 bucks for a 1-2 hour experience that may last 6 hours because im to scared to move an inch.

T.P. was just 2 corridors, a bathroom, main room with some stairs. Imagine if it was the full house? imagine what other settings they can use like: a subway station, a hospital, the streets of japan.

I would also love to see more games like this.

It's weird though, on one side I absolutely love horror games like this but I can't actually manage to play most horror games for more than 10 minutes straight. I get too scared lol.

I'm hoping for SOMA to be a step in the right direction aswell.
