Wii U Games 2014

Yes to both. Revelations is the best RE since 4, ZombiU is amazing as you can read again here: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=831901

I checked that topic earlier today, it's a shame ZombiU doesn't have off-TV play. I'll make the decision soon, maybe I'll just save since I'm a bit short on money and Bayonetta 2 is right around the corner. By the way, when is this topic getting updated? Several games have been released and a lot of release dates have been confirmed since the last update.

ZombiU is such a great game - definitely get it.

I ended up buying Revelations on the PS3 although I wanted to get the Wii U version. Something about the thumb stick dead zones just seemed wrong with the Wii U version (the demo anyways).

Well, by virtue of the way the game is played, off-TV couldn't work.

I have £10 promotional credit. What do I buy?

No VC titles, just eshop only recommendations. I have trine 2 and...thats it, really.

Unlike most I'm not a fan of Scram Kitty or Mighty Switch Force.
I also enjoyed Toki Tori more than TT2+
And my favorite e-shop game is maybe X-type+... it's very cheap, also fairly simple but for what it does, it does very well. I put over 20 hours into it. Also enjoyed Nano Assault Neo, but actually think X-type is the better deal.

But i know there are more good games i haven't played yet. Knytt, Unepic, Stealth... just look around.

He's just super busy. Those pics take a lot of work from what I gather =)

Well, i'm sure he puts in enough time for a (re-)design. But once a template is done, adding a new game shouldn't take much more than a (few) minutes work. Choose a screenshot, add the effect and change the text. I also think he shouldn't have chosen to do the designs or thread that way if he didn't have the time to commit to it.

In addition to what you listed, I'd strongly recommend Shovel Knight and Scram Kitty. Oh, and Kung Fu Rabbit!

Nano Assault Neo. Best twin stick shooter out there, imo.

I'll recommend Steamworld Dig and Guacamelee if you haven't played either before.

Btw. is it actually worth getting the Wii U version of Guacamelee if I've already played Gucamelee on PS3? Does it offer enough extra content to justify another purchase?

I never played the original version so I cannot really say. However this version has all of the DLC, inferno meter, changes to areas/new area and a new boss .

On another note is Scram Kitty getting a demo anytime soon? I'm too on the fence about it to really bu. :X

It has one extra level that's not very long to complete really. If you really enjoyed the origianl then sure go for it but otherwise I wouldn't bother. Some of the additions break the game a bit/unbalance it.

jump off that fence and buy it. one of this year's best games. cannot stress this enough. feels sooooo good. and it's such a crime that you have to force people to check it out with that bizarre name and not very screenshot friendly visuals.

We'll have Buildanauts on the Wii U probably in Q3 of 2015. We have a dev license for it, as well as the Xbox One and PS4.

Hey thanks for the news! Looks interesting and cool. It could really take advantage of the gamepad given some of its mechanics. Keep us updated.

And nice visuals.

Not exactly a genre I play often but something I enjoy from time to time. Does the game take lots of advantage off the Wii U Pad?

Yes its one of the few games build around the gamepad, you cant even play the story mode without the gamepad.

It also has offline multiplayer with on player controls the zombies on the gamepad and the other uses the pro controller to fight them off

Well, it turned out I did not like the demo of ZombiU and I'm really short on money. Should I still go for it or should I wait until it gets cheaper?

isn't it already insanely cheap at retail?
At least in Europe you can get it for 10€ to 15€ in many places, even under that.
I wasn't totally sold on the game with the game, but I bought it for 15€ and didn't regret it at all. But the game might not be for everyone, it's a slow paced game.

Yes, definitely. Arguably more than any other game.

Sounds awesome. I do like games that make use of something unique a hardware provides, same reason I liked Zack and Wiki so much. Think I'll go for it!

You could try Unepic, it's by far one of my favorite eshop games. Kinda reminds me of Diablo but in 2D lol

Is Zombie U really one of those games you should own if you have a Wii U? Or am I going to regret it if I don't purchase it several years from now?

Yes it is one of those must play games. Though if you go in without informing yourself what kind of game it is and end up not liking it for reasons that could've been cleared up by reading up on it, don't blame us!

Just got Disney Infinity 1 for the Wii U but only for the figures, so probably won't start it up.

Bayonetta 1+2 is on the way as well.

Last Wii U game this year will be Smash Bros.

Next year I plan on getting Captain Toad, Splatoon and Zelda.

FYI: I PM'd Captain Smoker about helping with the thread and doing the next one. Hoping we can inject some life into this whole thing :)

Definitely try 1001 Spikes, so hard yet so fun, also great in multiplayer with lots of content and game modes.
