even though i made fun of it...thought it was good if a little long. that ending...here's comes a new challenger! lol
15 yr old from los angeles

kind of got me hyped like that tsg sizzle reel they played in 2013.

Are you talking about the one where they are outside gaming on the projector? I thought that was a really great ad using all of the PlayStation product's I agree that got me hyped too.

"The circle is now complete. When I borrowed Destiny, I was but the learner, but now I am the Goddess."

"Only a goddess in aiming, Vader."

Well like 200,000 copies did sell in some form or another in Japan so I'm sure there is someone playing it there

Yes of this I have no doubt but it still feels odd having the ad focused on Destiny considering the market there. Same way it felt odd seeing big promos of Titanfall in Yodobashi camera when the the Xbox one wasnt even available there.

The "Japanese" aren't really this mythical, singular entity that you think they are.

No I never said that yet I still doubt japanese gamers are excited about Destiny as a whole.

Her brother is trying to cheer her up because she can't land a job. She sucks at the games until she starts dominating at Destiny, becomes an internet sensation and opens a game dojo in LA.

That was a great movie, all movies should be that short. I wonder if she destroyed that kid from L.A. maybe for the sequel.

It's not like there are any Japanese games they can really advertise it for the end of this year except for Guilty Gear or PES?

Moral of the story is that if you're a cute Japanese girl who has some inhuman aiming prowess the first time you play a game, you'll become youtube famous and befriend strangers who actually aren't trying to bone you and the news will post stories about you then pictures...

or is that just how I interpreted the youtube thing. I get Sony loves that share button but I have only pressed it once on my PS4 (on accident looking for a select button when I first got it)

Ooh that was a close call, you could mod the controller so that you don't press it again though.

I use the share button a lot for pictures.

Also they probably used Destiny to bridge the gap between east and west. Besides the fact there is no bigger game to advertise right now.

Remind me not to add you to my marketing team when I'm trying to promote a product

You just described the majority of gaming channels, especially ones with female hosts.

Not that I can blame them, it's a lucrative business.

Ad was nice but are we supposed to believe japanese people are playing Destiny and excited about it? Lol

As somebody that has played the raid with a Japanese party, yeah, they actually were really excited about it. Way more enthusiasm than the NA randoms I've done it with.

I can't take any commercial that pretends Japanese people care about FPS games seriously. I laughed through the Japanese Killzone party commercial too (OK, that one was way worse).

Actually there's quite a few japanese people who are way into FPS.
I remember playing with many in RFoM MP and they were pretty damn good.

Decent amount of destiny sold and cod usually sells a couple hundred thousand each iteration. Its not monster hunter but some western games are more popular than you think.
