Splatoon singleplayer campaign announced

Most importantly, I feel like this will be a successful new IP, with enough attributes to hook younger and older audiences (bright colorful game with some edge to it). The 8-bit snippet is pretty cool too. So many new ideas are going to burst out from Nintendo's faculty thanks to this.

Damn. And I thought Sunset Overdrive was colorful!
SP reminds me of the tons of platformers/adventure games on the original Xbox.

As a fan of Portal 2 I feel like kind of an idiot for seeing the potential of this game as a shooter but never as a platformer. This looks ace.
I... err, what?

Some key people from Animal Crossing are working on this, I think NIntendo will try their best to turn this into a hit.

Edit: Or at least as big as you can be on a crippled console.

The music was pretty impressive, sounded so bizarre yet it fit like a glove.

Really excited for this one, looks fantastic.

I wish there wasn't a divide between single player and multiplayer content.

If the ''single player campaign' was two player co-op, I'd buy the game.
As it is, it looks nifty, but I don't think I'll buy it unless it's on the big cheap.

The Jet Set Radio composer wanted to work on Splatoon. That music kind of sounded like him. Is it him? Anyone know?

Let's be honest, there's no way that Nintendo would have released this game without single player content.
True, but they're not half-assing the single-player mode (aka putting in a bot mode and saying "we're done").

Love those designs for the mollusk invaders. I wonder if there'll be some mind-fuck backstory to the paint war.

game looks amazing. The fact it has a dedicated single player mode has just sold me on the game (won't be playing multiplayer)

Ikr. The only platformer ideas I had was just comparing it to sunshine.

This game looks like so much fun. Damn.

Can I take a moment to just say that I LOVE the direction the music is going in? It reminds me simultaneously of old school Nickelodeon bumps and their related cartoon series.

So happy there is a single player campaign. I thought the game looked cool before but now I'm even more interested in it. Looks great.

I mean, it might be. Who knows. I'd rather them do this than what Respawn did with Titanfall.

Nintendo had really better put the main character in Smash.

Waiting an entire gen to maybe do it if it's successful enough isn't utilizing the potential cross promotion/marketing that these series cross things they are doing can have for newer/weaker brands.

Having them in Smash already would have been cool, but with DLC they can add after Splatoon's release, if they only wanted to have characters from games that are already out.

Well, Splatoon got even more interesting. Wonder if we'll see Amiibo support announced for it at a later time.

Watch Da Birdie

I buy cakes for myself on my birthday it's not weird lots of people do it I bet
I guess that 8-bit segment is probably just part of the counterculture cut-ins the trailer was filled with, and not actually part of the game...but, you never know.
