Same overall situation with Brendan, except I was stuck thinking "How fucking creepy is this shit. He keeps stalking me, popping up out of nowhere, challenging me to battles, and then acting like we're super close and shit. We've met only a couple times and had zero actual interaction. GTFO. No, dad, I don't want to take that creeper to see anything with me, keep him away."

I still prefer having an actual Fly user. Excess animations and having to actually navigate to the place etc vs tapping the Areanav and zooming off where I need to be lol.
It's useful, of course, plus the mirage islands etc require it, but for getting from A to B I'd take Fly anyday.
That said, I'm an advocate for giving us hatchets and stuff to let us take care of trees etc ourselves lol. If we can be trusted with crazy destructive creatures that do our bidding, we should be able to carry around a hatchet, pickaxe and a freakin' flashlight.

I was thinking about this today (
in the shower, but that's too much information
- Surf = Hoverboard or a Canoe. Actual hoverboards cannot go into the water, so if GF follows the rules of physics it might be better to give us a canoe.
- Cut = Machete. I thought about a Chainsaw but the game is for kids.
- Flash = Flashlight.
- Dive = Could be diving gear.
- Rock Smash = Hammer or something else blunt.
I couldn't think about anything that would help with Strength and Waterfall. Fly could stay the same flute.
And yes, I remember Link's Power Glove, but I think that is too far-fetched for Pokemon (even for a game where you can fly and do all sorts of crazy stuff)

So what are my fire/electric options in this game?
The only fire pokemon I like is torkoal (no idea where he is), and electric is...well I hate them all =/

I get that this is a remake but come the fuck on and give me some variety. Kalos was teaming with variety and this has nothing. Gen 3 had the worst variety of any gen. Sad to see the bad also get remade with the good.

Devon President is like Howard/Tony Stark, that Infinity Energy reminds me of the the Arc Reactor/new Element kinda energy, something clean and stuff.
And the link cable namedrop was lol-worthy.
The HMs would be fine if the moves were better. Like if Cut was steel and had a bit more power or Strength was fighting and Rock Smash hit harder. Like no one really complains about Surf and Waterfall since they're good and we'd use them anyway.

I *adore* Vulpix but I'm trying not to use yet another one for my ingame team.
And I guess I'll go with chinchou. Maybe eevee for flareon (and jolteon lol)? That actually sounds good.

Vulpix is obtainable during the main game. Or do you mean Eevee? Eevee is a mirage island poke I think.
Eevee, being mostly male, is an odd Pokemon to refer to as "she" =p
Edit: Nope, not mirage island, but still a post nat dex poke.
Edit2: Also, you don't have to beat the E4 for nat dex, you get access to it around the 8th badge. But that'd still mean getting your eevee right before the league lol.

Eevee isn't in the main game.
An alternative way is to trade in a fire Pokemon you want to this game, if you're OK with doing that.

in case of offensive nicknames, it also happens to other legendary/rare ones too. Few days ago I searched Latios and found a couple of them.

The GTS didn't but the pokemon being put in are. The filter is probably only in the naming phase. But if they name it using a tool it will go past the filter

As awesome as that was I still found myself moving to the third option :/
Gonna have to adapt but I'll be real mad if doesn't stay that way for the next games
Edit: Would not take those Jirachi if they were free
I found myself in the exact same position. They need to just rid of deposit/withdraw entirely. Move is so much faster and seamless thanks to dragging.
