NeoGAF Votes: Most Anticipated 2015 Game (voting ends January 1st, 11:59 PM EST)

1. Persona 5
2. Metal Gear Solid 5
3. Bloodborne
4. The Witcher 3
5. Uncharted 4
6. Xenoblade Chronicles X
7. Zelda Wii U
8. Yakuza 5
9. Batman: Arkham Knight
10. Scalebound

1. Batman: Arkham Knight: The other Arkham games are among my favorites ever, so this is an easy number 1.

2. Zelda Wii U: I was a bit iffy on this until they showed it at TGA. Then it skyrocketed up my list.

3. Mortal Kombat X: MK9 and Injustice are some of my favorite fighting games, so I'm excited for this. I hope the story mode is good.

4. Code Name: STEAM: Looks like an interesting take on Intelligent Systems' usual turn-based strategy formula.

5. Uncharted 4: Not a HUGE fan of the series, but I like it enough that I'll probably check this one out.

6. Mighty No. 9: I've been looking forward to this since I donated to the Kickstarter.

7. Yoshi's Wooly World: Kirby's Epic Yarn is one of the nicest looking and most charming games I've played. I hope Wooly World is similar.

8. Splatoon: I still want to learn a lot more about this game, but it looks like it could be interesting. Whatever the case, I'm just glad Nintendo's releasing an interesting new IP.

9. The Order: 1886: A bit iffy on this one. I'll definitely wait for reviews. But I liked RAD's PSP games, so hopefully this one turns out as good as those.

10. No Man's Sky: Also a bit iffy on this. It looks ambitious, but I'm not sure if it'll actually be fun to play.

1.Persona 5
2.Legend of Zelda Wii U
3.Uncharted 4
4.Bloodborne
5.Metal Gear Solid 5
6.No Man's Sky
7. Majora's Mask 3D
8.Final Fantasy Type-0 HD
9.Resident Evil Revelations 2
10.Splatoon

The drop of how much I want a game drops dramatically after 6 and even further at 9 and 10. Anyways...

I'm excited for Persona 5 because Persona 4 was one of the absolute best RPGs I have ever played. The characters and writing were phenomenal; music is one of the catchiest out of any series of games; combat was satisfying and collecting and fusing Personas were awesome. If Persona 5 can capture that feeling I got when I played P4, and maybe even surpass it, it will become one of my absolute favorites.

Persona 5 is #1 for me just because it's been 6 years since Persona 4 came out.

1. Persona 5: I only recently got into the Persona series but it quickly jumped into my top 5 series. Since it's been years since P4 and we've been seeing the same characters since those years, it makes the hype for Persona 5 much greater.

2. Bloodborne: The Big M new game. I loved Dark Souls 2 despite all of its flaws but this is the true sequel/successor.

3. FFXV Demo: God if this was the full game then it would be my number 1 but even the demo of the game that i have waiting for since 2006 gets the number 3 spot. It's that special to me.

4. No Man's Sky: Can't wait to spend countless of hours exploring worlds. I doubted Hello Games before but now I give them my trust. Hopefully they succeed.

5. Metal Gear Solid V: Fucking Metal Gear Solid. I think this will be the one Kojima truly wanted to always make. So much love put into this and I can feel it before its release.

6. Uncharted 4: It's Uncharted and will no doubt be fun.

7. The Witness: When it was rerevealed at Sony's conference I've been eagerly awaiting it's release. Hopefully 2015 will be the year it comes out.

8. Zelda U: It's Zelda. Hopefully it's better than the previous ones. It should take more from ALBW

9. The Witcher 3: Massive world RPG that will surely fill my lust for RPGS. If it was still the original release date then I might of put it higher in my list.

10. Until Dawn: Horror movie that you get to play out? Sign me up.

1. Bloodborne : More Souls for the Souls God
2. No Man's Sky : If only just to see what the game ends up being. I am full of curiosity.

I'm sure there are more, but I can't think of any at the moment. Bookmarked...

Cool Facts: Game of War has been a hit since July 2013
I don't understand the point of reserving a post. Just say what you want to say and stop caring what page it's on.

I'm only truly excited for one game this year: The Legend of Zelda Wii U.
Zelda is my favorite franchise, and this looks like it could be one of my favorite games of all time.

Lower on the list is Xenoblade Chronicles X. Even though I adored the first Xenoblade, I somehow can't seem to get that hyped for this installment. I just have a feeling that it won't be as magical as Xenoblade was. Still, there is a chance that it will be amazing, so I've got to put it high on my list.

My last two games are from franchises that I have barely played: Final Fantasy and Metal Gear. However, both these games look great, and I would get both of them day one if I had a machine that could run them.

1. Zelda U
2. Xenoblade X
3. FF15
4. MGSV

1. Halo 5 Guardians: After Halo 4, I think this game will make or break the franchise going forward.

2. Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain: It's Metal Gear... It has a dog with an eye patch.

3. Uncharted 4: Another reason to have Nolan North AND Troy Baker in yet another game together? Why not?

4. Bloodborne: Totally not looking forward to not having a shield, but whatever...I'll buy it.

5. Rise of the Tomb Raider: It made a big stink around here, so might as well buy that too.

6- MGS v -ssd is nervous about the amount of cutscene in this one.
7- GTA v PC -drive bys with a racing wheel and a mouse?
8- Hotline Miami 2 -style and substance.
9- Project Cars -might be tired of Assetto Corsa by then.
10- Bloodborne -hope it sucks so I don't have to buy a ps4 tbh.

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate will be the best experience in the franchise's history.
Xenoblade Chronicles X looks very ambitious and epic.
Youkai Watch is the true and real Pokémon killer.

  1. Grand Theft Auto V PC
  2. The Witcher III Wild Hunt
  3. Star Wars: Battlefront
  4. Killing Floor 2
  5. No Man's Sky (This one is iffy because the PS4 time exclusive is June 2015, PC to follow in "2015")
  6. Batman: Arkham Knight
  7. Cities: Skylines
  8. Project CARS
  9. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
  10. Evolve
If No Man's Sky isn't eligible swap with "Dying Light"

I don't own any of the consoles so you'll notice every one of mine is a PC Game.

1. Persona 5 : Persona 4 Golden is my 3rd favorite game ever *
2. Uncharted 4 : Dat PSX demo
3. Metal Gear Solid 5 : Ground zeroes may have been short, but it was amazing, cant wait for the full deal
4. The Witcher 3 : Witcher 2 was phenomenal, and everything we've seen makes Wither 3 just seem better, added playable character has made me even more hype
5. Bloodborne : Im one of the few on GAF that never got into souls, but the preview of BB at PSX has this looking like the evolution that will appeal to me.
6. Final Fantasy Type-0 HD : Type-0 PSP hype never died for me, and with far more interesting characters and world this makes the list over FFXV
7. Mortal Kombat X : The only fighting game my brother enjoys, cant wait to have a new one for me and him to play
8. Resident Evil Revelations 2 : Count me as one of the few thats still really enjoying RE, including 6
9. Dead or Alive 5 Last Round : PC DOA!!!!!
10. Saints Row IV Gat out of Hell : Musical trailer has me more hyped than it just being more saints row 4 ever could, and I loved SR4

*amazing that FFXV doesnt make this list with FF7 being my favorite...would XV even be eligible though...probably not

Im also hopeful that Xenoblade X fixes the things I hated about xenoblade and can make my favorites list at year end. If Battlefront is actually coming out in 2015 it can have the number 3 slot.

1. Persona 5: While I think narratively and thematically P3 was the highlight of the series 4 did add some nice gameplay enhancments and from the teasers so far Im hoping that P5 can combine both of these

2. Bloodborne: Demon Souls is my favourite of the Souls series and I'm getting serious DS vibes from this, it seems a much closer successor spiritually than Dark Souls or Dark Souls 2

3. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt: I think The Witcher 2 is the best modern WRPG and this game looks like it improves on every aspect of it. Almost happy to see the delay because it will be all the better for it

4. No Mans Sky: Elite for the new millenium? The sense of size and the focus on exploration are amazingly appealing

5. The Tomorrow Children: Just looks really interesting

6. Disgaea 5: Have to buy this to save NIS, Im also a big fan of the series. The mechanics have improved significantly with every entry and 4 was the mechanic high point of the series. All things point to this being an improvement so why wouldnt I be looking forward to it?

7. Yakuza 5: Supposedly the best game in an amazing series, cant wait

8. Final Fantasy XIV Heavensward: Not sure if this counts? Took a break from the game for a year, really enjoying it since coming back

9. Final Fantasy Type-0 HD: Enjoyed the orginal, looking forward to giving it another go

10. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain: More habit than anticipation if Im honest

3. Theatrhythm Dragon Quest - pls come to Europe :(

That's pretty much it. I mostly play handhelds, so 2015 is disappointing so far...

I expect UC4 to be a fun ride with some amazing set pieces that give me some wow moments. Mass Effect will rocket up this list if confirmed for 2015. I find it hard to get hyped about indies but I'm definitely looking forward to several, including Rime.

1. The Legend of Zelda Wii U: This seems like the Zelda I've been looking forward to for years now. I hope they deliver on creating a vast overworld with many things to see and do.

2. Splatoon : A major new IP from Nintendo and it looks like a lot of fun to play.

3. Xenoblade Chronicles X : My hype is rather high coming off of XB, and this seems like more of the same which a good thing. I'm expecting a deep narrative from Takahashi and another great world to explore.

4. Persona 5 : I feel that my hype for this is based solely off how damn good Persona 4 was - thus, there's not much else I can say about it.

5. Mario Maker

6. Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D

7. Code Name: Steam

8. Star Fox Wii U

9. Batman: Arkham Knight

Will finalise but for now. Reserving...

1. Zelda Wii U: Always my most anticipated game of any gen and I'm yet to be disappointed.
2. Xenoblade X: The sheer scope of the game looks amazing. Reminds me of Monster Hunter x Mass Effect.
3. Splatoon: Could be a sleeper hit if it gets enough coverage and the online takes off.
4. Codename STEAM: It's IS. That is enough reason for me.
5. Batman arkham Knight: Loved the first two RockSteady Batman games. Really looking forward to seeing what they can do with the extra horsepower of next gen.
6. Halo 5: Bit lower on my list than earlier entries would have been, but still head and shoulders above other FPS.
7. Mighty Number 9: New game by the creator of and spiritual successor to mega Man. Say no more.
8. No Mans Sky: Reading about it has intrigued me to see whether the game can match the scope of its creators ambition.
9. Star Fox: Or in my mind. Lylat Wars. The sequel. What is there to not be excited about?
10. Yoshis Woolly World: Played it briefly at EGX. Was fun. Loved Epic Yarn so this should be a no brainer for me.

1. MH4:
I love those games where you kill boss, while i prefer the controls of GE or Toukiden (or even SS Delta), this one imo wins in term of bosses so it will take the cake.

2. God Eater 2 RB:
Same than MH4, a game i really liked on PSP, i will get without any second thoughts, be it localised this time or not.

3. Dungeon Travelers 2-2
Most underrated Dungeon Crawler i ever played, understandable due to it's "art" and being japan only, i'd go as far as to say that the second game was one of my favorite game of the gendra last gen, and yes that competes with EO or Strange Journey. It's only natural i'd give the sequel all my attention.

4. Hotaru No Nikki
I just want to see the raindeer girl get bullied due to my lack of skills while i rage at myself for being incompetent. That's how i like my puzzle games.

5. Ys
I have been a fan since i tried Origin, with the exception of I and II i was never disappointed, i look forward to it.

6. Makai Shin Trillion
Compile Heart game, guaranteed to be good. I jest, otherwise some people here might have an heart attack.

7. Etrian Odyssey: Mystery Dungeon
I like EO, that is all.

8. Bloodborne

I do not have a PS4 but i'm still interested because i liked Dark Souls, hopefully it will be good for those who can play it.

9. Splatoon
I'm divided with this game, at first i felt it could be interesting, i still think it can but... i despise stealth in shooters or MMO, i really hate it, it's one of the greatest plague alongside automated pets/ai. And this game seems to have it has one of it's major sale point.
But i still want to see how it turns out.

10. Enter The Gungeon
Reminded me of Isaac when i saw that trailer, i just hope it has massive content otherwise those kind of games becomes boring really fast. Will probably wait and see for a Vita version.

Feels bad not being able to add UT or Tree of Savior though as those pretty much would have taken 1 and 2 spot without any competition.

1. Killing Floor 2: Sequel to my favorite co op game of all time. Nobody does gunplay like
Tripwire
2. The Witcher 3: It looks absolutely massive. The fact that CDPR has had to delay it twice
makes me believe it will give hundreds of hours of beast slaying goodness
3. Hotline Miami 2: Long overdue for this sequel. Psychopathic gameplay and eargasmic
soundtrack. Count me in
4. Grand Theft Auto V: I will FINALLY be able to play this masterpiece. I haven't touched a
GTA game since 2008
5. Metal Gear Solid 5: It's a god damn Metal Gear Solid game.

6. Batman: Arkham Knight: Rocksteady's return to the great superhero game series ever
made.
7. Overwatch: Blizzard entering the FPS scene with a MOBA type approach has me very
interested. *Let me know if this doens't count since the ful game may not release by year's end
8. Ori and the Blind Forest: I love 2D platformers and Ori looks absolutely gorgeous and
the controls appear excellent
9. Just Cause 3: JC2 was an absolute blast to play I love open world games that don't take
themselves seriously and empower the player to just have a good ass time

10. Bloodborne: The Souls' series is my favorite series but I probably won't own a PS4 in
2015 so it's hard to be excited for something that I won't play for another 1-2 years

1. Legend of Zelda Wii U
2. Last Guardian
3. Bloodborne
4. Xenoblade Chronicles X
5. Uncharted: A Thief's End
6. Kirby & The Rainbow Curse

10. Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Work in progress:

1) Persona 5 - Time in any MegaTen game has been time well spent, so far.
2) Bloodborne - I'm a fan of Demons/Dark, this looks to be more of the same.
3) Uncharted 4 - More uncharted. Nothing new, but more uncharted is good.
4) Pillars of Eternity - Old school returns.
5) Ratchet & Clank - Again, probably more of the same, but scratching that itch works.

1. Dark Souls 2 Scholar of the First Sin:
Will be picking this up for my PS3. Never really got into the vanilla version, and didn't play any dlc. I am excited to have a definitive version of the game on disc!

2. Bloodborne:
Not yet certain if I will enjoy the style of this one compared to Souls or if I'm picking up a PS4 next year, but the game looks amazing! Can't wait for reviews and let's plays.

Honestly, that's all I have right now.

* dude yes!! I'm a member?! Been a junior for years. Life is good :D

  1. Persona 5 : Loved 4 and other SMT games I've played so I have faith in this
  2. Bloodbourne : Like most I really enjoyed DaS and am currently making my way through DS
  3. Metal Gear Solid 5
  4. Batman: Arkham Knight
  5. The Witcher 3
  6. Quantum Break : Every Remedy game I've played I've enjoyed and I like what I've seen of this.
  7. Tales of Zesteria : Not expecting much on the story end, but I've found the Tales games to have some really enjoyable gameplay.
  8. The Legend of Zelda
  9. Mario Maker : If they do this right it could be one of the greatest things ever, but I can easily see them fucking it up so I'm cautious.
  10. Star Wars: Battlefront : I have a lot of good memories playing Battlefront. Hopefully EA doesn't fuck it up.

1. Persona 5: Atlus have almost never released a bad game, and whilst Personas 3 and 4 might not have had the best dungeon crawling, they made up for it with incredibly strong characters. Persona 5 is the prefect opportunity for them to develop on the franchise even further, and whilst we've seen almost nothing of it so far, I think the main charecter design is fantastic. I find it very hard to believe that this game could disappoint.

2. Trails in the Sky: Second Chapter: The first TitS game really impressed me. The combat was enjoyable and the characters and world building were fantastic. I've heard that the series gets even better later, and after the ending tot eh first one, I am highly anticipating the sequel.

3. The Great Ace Attorney: Ace Attorney is a series that is consistently great. The changing in setting an an all new cast look like they will deliver something that feels fresh and with Takumi returning to the series, I'm sure it will turn out great.

4. Xenoblade Chronicles X: I haven't actually got around to playing the first Xenoblade game yet, however it's reputation, along with the trailers and gameplay demos for X make it look great. I'm also looking forward to playing the first Xenoblade when it comes out for N3DS.

5. Kirby and the Rainbow Curse: Power Paintbrush was one of the best games on the DS, and the claymation style visuals look fantastic.

6. Persona 4 Dancing All Night: I really enjoy rhythm games, and Persona games have great music.

7. Zelda U: Looks great, and I've never not enjoyed a Zelda game.

8. Etrian x Mystery Dungeon: I liked the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games, and combining that style with Etrian Odyssey seems like it would make for a good combination.

9. Devil Survivor: Record Breaker: The Devil Survivors are one of my favorite Megaten spinoff series', whilst it wasn't as good as the first, DeSu 2 was still pretty great and I'm looking forward to seeing how they improve on it. The bonus scenario seems pretty substantial extra content.

10. Bravely Second: Default had a fantastic combat system and customisation options, I'm hoping that the sequel can improve on that whilst losing the repetition of the first game.

I'd like to add Corpse Party and Danganronpa Another Episode, but since they're not yet announced for localisation, I'm not sure they'd count.

1. Persona 5: There has never been an Atlus game that I've hated, and if the previous Persona games are any indication Persona 5 will be one of the best JRPGs of all time.

2. Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain: MGS V takes the Metal Gear Formula and refines it with tight new gameplay mechanics and open world levels. Plus I can finally see how Big Boss descends into full on villainy

3. Bloodborne: Demon's/Dark Souls was one of the best things to come out the 7th gen, so hell yes I want more.

4. Star Fox: We know next to nothing about this game, but more Star Fox is anything but a bad thing (I hope 2016 becomes the Year of F-Zero)

5. Legend of Zelda Wii U: It's what everyone who discovered what open world RPGs are after playing Skyrim always wanted: an Open World Zelda game. The map looks huge and I already like how they are tweaking traversal with Epona. I also like how jumping of her turned the game into Vanquish for a sec.

6. Xenoblade Chronicles X: I didn't give Xenoblade the far shake it deserved when I first played it, and now its super expensive to get (until the New3DS version comes out). XBX refines what the previous games established while also placing it in a sick ass sci fi setting with giant mechs. How can I not love it?

7. Halo 5 Guardians: I'm still incredibly hopeful for this game and despite being a bit put off by ADS and such I still think that Halo will be one of the best multiplayer games out there. Also interested in what direction they take the story.

8. Mortal Kombat X: They're fixing all the problems I have with MK 9 with this one (namely the animations) plus bringing in the style mechanic which adds a whole 'nother level to the game. Got my Madkatz PS4 stick ready for it.

9. Tales of Zestiria: The Tales series is pretty predicable when it comes to the story, but I still love it for its classic JRPG goodness and Zestiria seems to be doing everything right.

10. Evolve: Me and my bro played left 4 dead nonstop and this is just left 4 dead with aliens, so of course I'm getting it.

Hopeful but not likely 2015 release:

Final Fantasy XV: Even without Nomura I'm really loving all that I see about the game, plus I like how quickly Tabata has been reacting to fan feedback. An highly polished open world action RPG with some high level mechanics is just what I needed after getting a taste of it from Dragons Dogma. While I'm hyped, there is no way that this is a 2015 title.

Scalebound: It's a Kamiya game; I don't need to say anymore. The fact that we only got a CG trailer for its announcement makes me feel that it's still a long ways off though

Crackdown: I love the Crackdown series, even after it kinda went off the rails for the second game. Same as with Scalebound, getting a CG trailer as an announcement makes me feel that its pretty early on.

Quantum Break: I want this to be a 2015 title soooo bad since its Sam Lake and Remedy in their element, everything they've made I love both from a gameplay and story standpoint. But I'm immediately reminded of all the delays that Alan Wake got and that makes me pretty cynical for a 2015 release for this game.

Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem: I'm hoping against hope that this game hasn't been canceled and that they will do a surprise Nintendo Direct to show off the game and a release date for 2015.

Honerable Mentions:
Digaea 5
Rainbow Six Siege
Killer Instinct Season 3
Yakuza 5
Star Wars Battlefront

1. The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky Second Chapter; Supposedly a 2014 release, but that doesn't seem to be happening anymore. Anyway, I just want to know how the story continues and from what I heard the music's also supposed to be great.
2. Zelda WiiU; Console Zeldas never let me down and this has the potential to become something special
3. Brandish: Dark Revenant; Probably an early 2015 release by now as well, never played anything of the series, but it's a Falcom game and it looks great.
4. Mario Maker; I'm not very creative, but if the sharing is done well, it could be a lot of fun to try everyone's creations.
5. Xenoblade Chronicles X; It looks like it takes Xenoblade in the right direction.
6. Persona 5; A bit sceptical about this one, we just haven't seen enough.
7. Majora's Mask 3D; If this improves on the flaws of the original, we could have a very special game.
8. Yakuza 5; Finally!
9. Kirby and the Rainbow Curse; This looks fantastic.
10. Etrian Mystery Dungeon; A crossover that seems like it should work very well.

Edit* Why is Crackdown 3 listed as "Early 2015"?? That can't be right...if so...or 2015 at all...it would be in my list.

1. Bloodborne : Demon's and Dark Souls are two of my most loved games, both directed by Miyazaki. I've got high hopes for this.
2. Persona 5 : The only other game I know for sure I'll buy this year.

I see lots of games that don't qualify itt, such as FFXV, Scalebound and GT7.

1. Bloodborne: Miyazaki has created 2 of my favorite games of all time. I fully expect this game to be utterly fantastic.
2. Uncharted 4: The gameplay seems to b greatly improved, the graphics look incredible, and how could I not be hyped for Naughty Dog's follow-up to The Last of Us?
3. Metal Gear Solid V: The open world gameplay is discouraging, but i'm giving Kojima the benefit of the doubt here. I love how simultaneously awesome and silly this series is. The gameplay in MGS4 was great so I can't wait to see how they build on that.
4. The Witness: I can so easily see myself getting lost in this glorious maze of puzzles. I'm hoping for something as devious as Braid.
5. Persona 5: Persona is at the height of its popularity and i'm very interested to see how they will respond.
6. Zelda U: I have a lot of doubts about this game, and the last several in the series have disappointed. But it's still Zelda.
7. Xenoblade Chronicles X: I actually haven't played the first one, but by all accounts it's fantastic, and this game looks very good.
8. Ghost Song: This game looks like it's going to hit all the right points for me
9. Hyper Light Drifter: Honestly don't know a lot about this game, but those animations!!
10. Tearaway Unfolded: This already looked remarkable on the Vita, can't wait to revisit it.
