1.Persona 5: Persona 4 Golden was one of the biggest positive surprises for me. I just thought it would be another one of those niche Japanese games with way too vocal fanbase but after all the positive reviews and a Vita release I had to give it a spin and it ended up being my GOTY 2013. That alone warrants my personal anticipation for the sequel, especially when it is coming to PS4 now. I just hope it actually releases next year in EU or I will have to figure out how to import it...

2.Uncharted 4: The gameplay reveal sold it to me. I was actually a little paranoid what ND might do with the fourth game but even this early it looks just excellent when it comes to the gameplay. These are the masters of true ''cinematic gameplay'' done right. Doesn't hurt that I'm on the team that thinks UC3 was at least as good as UC2 and TLOU was even better so they haven't done wrong in my eyes yet.

3.Metal Gear Solid V Phantom Pain: MGS is one of my all time fav series. I kinda started to drift away from it after PW was kind of mediocre but I'm feeling some of dat old hype coming back. It looks like a ton of fun from both gameplay and story setting wise. I just hope this is the true ''BB turns into a villain'' story that supposedly 3, PO and PW were hyped as ;). The most exciting thing about it is that for as much as they have shown the game I feel like Kojima is going to surprise us somehow.

4.Pillars of Eternity.: Closest thing to Baldur's Gate 3 for a while. I pray that this game is good since there are so few good PC focused RPG's that get me hooked.

5.Batman Arkham Knight: Arkham City is my favourite of the series and a great game so naturally I'm looking foreward to this. I just REALLY hope Rocksteady knows what the hell they are doing with the Batmobile stuff.

6.Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time is IMO the most underrated exclusive of last gen. Absolutely brilliant. The only reason why this isn't higher on the list is that they haven't actually shown the damn game even after promises of Fall unveiling and you can't be too sceptical when it comes to sort of movie tie-in games.

7.The Order 1886:Even after the unveiling of UC4 this seems to probably stay the PS4 graphix king of 2015. Too bad that I feel UC4 kind of ate the Order's lunch when it comes to cinematic gameplay games and I'm not even in the hater group. I'm looking foreward to this game, just not as much as I used to after comparing the UC4 early footage and Order near release footage.

8.Resident Evil Revelations 2: I have been whining for a
Barry Burton Resident Evil for like 10 years (other than Gaiden..)
so it's time to put money where my mouth is. I just don't have huge expectations for it. The recent announcement of Vita version make me really happy and hopefully it is good.

9.Bloodborne:I wasn't a huge fan of Demon's Souls but this one seems to be a little faster and action oriented and that suits me. I also like the setting way more so that is something to look foreward to. I hope it can surprise me.

10.Until Dawn: Looks like dumb fun. I don't expect it to blow me away but I doubt I'll regret getting it too much. World needs more cheesy horror games.

1. Uncharted 4: Might be my favorite series of all time and that PSX demo got me extremely hyped.

2. Bloodborne: I've never played a Souls game but the art style, music, atmosphere and gameplay have me ready to throw money at this on day one.

3. The Order 1886: Love the impressions and videos from PSX. Stunning visuals and I'm becoming more and more sold on the gameplay.

4. Batman Arkham Knight: Didn't play much of the previous iterations but this looks phenomenal. I'm in.

5. No Man's Sky: So unique, ambitious and I cannot wait to see more.

6. Halo 5 Guardians: Love Halo but I've become pessimistic on 343's ability to deliver an incredible Halo experience. Hope they prove me wrong.

1. Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain, Ground Zeroes got me hyped, meaningful open world with systems tailored for engaging stealth
2. Uncharted 4 : A Thief's End, the end of the road with beloved characters and gorgeous action
3. The Witcher III : Wild Hunt, RPG done right, with unique character
4. Dying Light, liberating traversal and visceral CQC following strong Dead Island
5. Rocket League, pure multiplayer chaotic fun
6. Persona 5, can it top 4's cast ?
7. Grim Fandango, cult classic finally within reach
8. Just Cause 3, just cause it's fun
9. Bloodborne, because even if I can't beat it, I'm gonna try
10. No Man's Sky, I want to believe

Also, beyond the rules, I'm hoping for Dishonored 2, Hitman 6, and The Last Guardian
and why not Shenmue 3 and Beyond Good & Evil 2 while I'm at it :(

1. Uncharted 4 : What more needs to be said? Better visuals, more "open world", better animations. Sliding and shooting,
2. Bloodborne : Dark Souls 2 was a bit lackluster. However with the original dev team back at it I think this game will be vastly superior.
3. Zelda U : If there is one thing Nintendo needs right now it is a great Zelda game. I'm on this game day 1.
4. Xenoblade Chronicles : I spent more hours than I care to admit playing Xenoblade.... The sequel is going to be amazing.
5. Metal Gear Solid 5 : I have a soft spot for the MGS franchise. Following it from the PS1 days to now, it always deserves a spot on my list.
6. Rime : ICO / Shadow of the Colossus visuals? An game entirely based on exploring? Sold
7. No Mans Sky : This game is very very very hyped. Due to that fact I lowered it on my list. If it lives up to the hype it could easily be number 1.
8. Silent Hills : PT was amazing, and actually scary the first playthrough. Cant wait for play this!
9. Witcher 3 : Finally coming to a Playstation platform.
10. Final Fantasy Type 0 : Finally an official translation and on the PS4. Can't wait to play what is arguably the best FF game in the last generation.

God this is going to be tough. 2015 is beyond loaded but I'll give it a shot.

1.) No Mans Sky : if this game delivers, it could be one for the ages. It feels like Murray somehow reached into my brain and pulled out every gaming fantasy I have had since playing Wing Commander and Silpheed back in the early days of sci-fi space sim epics. This game is an inspiration to anyone with ambition.

Bloodborne-Game-Wallpaper.jpg

2.) Bloodborne : It's a Souls game at heart, but the pace of combat looks insane and the art direction is some of the best I've ever seen for a darker game.

jp9000cusa01242_000000000000000000_banner

3.) The Tomorrow Children : Having been a part of Alpha, can honestly say this could end up being the best game of 2015, despite the games above. It has SO much potential. I would of gladly paid $20 for the game played in alpha.

rime-logo-banner-artwork.jpg

4.) Rime : The art direction, the animation, the style of the game focusing on exploration and puzzle solving. Will be a game I can sit back and enjoy with my entire family around.

GooglePlusBanner.png

5.) Axiom Verge : The fact that this is being made by a single person, controlling every facet is jaw dropping to me. The fact that it looks like a worthy addition to the contra/metroid library is even more impressive.

thewitness-banner.jpg

6.) The Witness : Another puzzle solving / exploration title that is beginning to dominate my mind. Art direction is fantastic, and again can enjoy this with my entire family in the room. Some of the scenes are breathtaking to behold

uncharted-4-banner.png

7.) Uncharted 4 : Forget the technical achievements of Naughty Dog, the thing that impressed me most from the gameplay demonstration was the gameplay and the combat. Looked FAR more involved and dynamic then prior entries of the series.

468px-Cosmic_Star_Alt_Banner.png

8.) Cosmic Star Heroine : The game looks like it would fit right in with the classic Genesis RPG's like Phantasy Star and for that, and that alone ... you have my controller! Can't wait for this. I've been saying for awhile I would love for new upstart indie crews to tackle the old-school JRPG genre.

Screen%20Shot%202014-09-02%20at%2011.38.06%20PM.png

9.) Persona 5 : JRPG's need a revival this gen, let this be a good beginning

stfweb.png

10.) Super Time Force Ultra : this last entry was the toughest. So many possibilities. But the PSX video had me so hyped up that I just couldn't keep it out of a list.

1. Metal Gear Solid V:
Having recently (finally) completed a full fun of the entire Metal Gear Solid series, and being completely in love with (almost) everything Kojima does narratively and stylistically and gameplay-wise, this was an easy pick. While I'm sure I'll find plenty of novel ideas in the new MGS, this makes the top of my list for two simple reasons: I consider it to be a known quantity and a guaranteed good time, and the recent MGS Online gameplay trailer is just the coolest thing I've seen in quite a while.

2. No Man's Sky:
If we were talking only about the excitement over new ideas, this would easily be at my number 1. I kind of hate not having it there, and if this were a year where MGSV weren't being released, it surely would be top dog.

3. Silent Hills:
P.T. demo. 'Nuff said.

4. Zelda U
I haven't really enjoyed a console Zelda since Ocarina. TP and I got along well enough, and I have every intention of going back and getting into WW (and MM on 3DS [Abbreviations!]), but Skyward Sword wasn't for me. For the life of me, I can't tell you why I'm excited for this one, then. But I am. And knowing that Nintendo is doing their best to earn the good will of players once again, I've got full faith in them to deliver a solid product--if only they can avoid the dreaded two hour long tutorial segment for this one.

5. Batman: Arkham Knight
The recent batmobile trailers have been so boring to me that this really shouldn't be this high on my list. BUT Rocksteady returning to the franchise gives me hope.

6. Bloodborne
I've only ever played Demon's Souls. There just hasn't been enough time, what with everything else out there. But the London aesthetic with the promise of awesome monster boss battles has me salivating. I'll probably grab Dark Souls II on PS4 just to finally experience it, but Bloodborne is really what I'm excited for.

7. Uncharted 4
Previous Uncharted games have either a) suffered serious problems with causing my PS3 to shut down inexplicably (this has never happened with another game) or b) bored the hell out of me with the lengthy gun battles / poor gunplay controls. But Naughty Dog knows how to do a set piece, and if they can bring the even hand they used to make The Last of Us my Game of Forever, then Uncharted 4 deserves my money. This will probably be higher as we get to learn more about the game in the coming months.

8. Persona 5
It's a new Persona game. What do you want? It would be higher if I didn't dread the promise of another hundred plus hour gaming experience.

9. Day Z
Not being a PC gamer, this one will be new to me. The barrier for entry seems kind of high, but I am pumped for the promise of a realistic (except for the zombies) MMO survival experience.

Crackdown 3:
I neither own nor intend to purchase an XBONE. With that said, if Crackdown 3 gets decent reviews, it would be a system seller for me.

1 Legend of Zelda: This is the game that will make me buy a Wii U.

2 Splatoon: This the game that will justify the long term investment as long as they don't fuck up the network connectivity. They really are on to a very novel FPS experience that does a whole bunch of subtle things that clearly makes it a genre defining shooter in the same way counterstrike, doom, quake and call of duty have very clear designs that influences other imitators.

3 The Witness: I got onto the Braid train just last year and it was a very well made game that was deserving of all the hype it had back then. I have high expectations for this.

4 Unsung Story: Final Fantasy Tactics is one of those games of forever. Matsuno providing input on another strategy game has me looking forward a lot to this endevour.

5 Cuphead: Novel ideas aren't rare. It's the execution that matters and Cuphead is delivering so much on the latter. Just look at this and tell me you aren't impressed.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jDZfREYppk&list=UUf2PB4w6M3co9GxQKTOvQMA

6 Gigantic: I like quite a few elements of moba gameplay but I feel there are severe design issues many don't address. Gigantic clearly throws out a lot of conventions so this is an experiment worth looking out for.

7 No Man's Sky: I don't think this will fit the standard of a great exploration game but they are still taking a bunch of risks that I like. I always dreamed of being a space explorer and while it won't be realistic like Kerbal or a finely tuned for fun game like Star Citizen it will have a scale neither game can match. It will have an element of throwing unexpected situations at you neither game will match.

Special mention:

Final Fantasy XV Demo. This is the game I suspect will be on the short list of games of forever. I have a lot of expectations I will be replaying this demo constantly like Final Fantasy VII way back when.

This was actually my number 1 but demos are ineligible.

1. Bloodborne:
Never beat a Souls game, but I'm loving everything about it so far, and it's the closest to releasing so it's the one I'm most hyped for.

2. Persona 5:
We know nothing other than what the main character looks like, but I have enough faith in P-Studio's writing team that this will be good. Hopefully...

3. Legend of Zelda:
Got into the series with Twilight Princess and loved it. I'm playing Ocarina of Time 3D now and liking it, so I'm all for this game. It looks great so far.

4. Metal Gear Solid V:
I only played MGS1 this year, but loved it. I own 2-4+PW so I'll play those before I play V.

5. Tales of Zestiria:
Big Tales fan. That's pretty much it.

6. Killing Floor 2:
I loved the first Killing Floor and put over 200 hours into it. I'll be doing the same with this one if my PC friends also get it.

7. Evolve:
I love L4D and my PC friends are getting it, so I'm excited.

8. Xenoblade Chronicles X:
Didn't play Xenoblade, but I heard a lot of good things about it. Will get this.

9. Uncharted 4:
I thought 1 was okay, loved 2, but really disliked 3. I'm not sure how I'll feel about this one, but it looks great.

10. Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D:
Hear a lot of good things about this game all over the internet. Can't wait to play it.

1. Zelda WiiU
2. Kirby and the Rainbow Curse : one of the best stylus controlled games is back. Now give me Tilt n Tumble 2
3. Yoshi's Wolly World
4. Zelda Majora's Mask 3D
5. Grand Theft Auto V (PC)
6. Mario Maker
7. Mighty No. 9
8. Dai Gyakuten Saiban : I bet it will be 2016 if it even releases outside Japan
9. Shantae: Half-Genie Hero : probably will be 2016 though
10. Starfox Wii U

I need to buy a Wii U... damn.

1. Uncharted 4: The gameplay demo was on point. This is already the best looking game ever, and they seemed to have learned so much in level design, and stealth action, from TLOU

2. Hotline Miami 2: I'm still listening to the soundtrack from the first, 2 years later. The bloodsoaked gameplay was addicting, and I can't wait to try out the new controls.

3. Bloodborne: Speaking of bloodsoaked gameplay... I have only played the first 2 levels of Demon's Souls from this franchise, but there was always something about the fighting controls, and darkly stylized settings that stuck with me.

4. Rainbow Six Siege: was the best thing to come out of E3 2014. This reveal was the definition of HYPE, and the focus on TEAM is what has me excited the most.

5. H-Hour: anyone who's played Socom for a long time will tell you that the thirst will never die for a good Socom game. People have been asking for this for years...

6. Dying Light: Just looks fun. running around parkour style, is great, and they are keeping the same limb slicing, bone crunching weapon upgrades from Dead Island. Looks like an improvement.

7. Project CARS: Delayed but not forgotten. I first got introduced to Slightly Mad when PS+ gave away Shift 2. I put in A LOT of time, really enjoyed the driving model. CARS was really more anticipated than Driveclub for me, so when it got delayed, and DC released in poor state, well... bummer

8. Final Fantasy Type 0 HD: I've never even knew this existed, and the game itself looks cool, but lets be real.... I want that demo ZOE/MGS2 style

9. Arkham Knight: Looks to be the biggest, and best Batman game ever. I love Batman, who doesn't?

10. Hyper Light Drifter: Ever since I saw that trailer months back, I knew I needed to have this game. So far I'm loving the indie sci-fi fantasy look, and the tunes. If they manage to scrape a relevant story out of it HLM style, then.... then.... GOTY?

Honorable Mentions for

H1Z1, Phantom Pain, Until Dawn, Amplitude HD, and Shovel Knight

  1. Splatoon : first person shooter innovation
  2. Captain Toad Treasure Tracker : Nintendo grade puzzles!
  3. Project Rain World : dat animation!
  4. No Man's Sky : exploration
  5. Grim Fandango Remastered : never got round to plating this, recent sold my original big box copy for mega bucks
  6. The Next Penelope : F-Zero/Wipeout vs Micro Machines vs Shmup
  7. Star Fox Wii U : Miyamoto will come good
  8. Majora's Mask 3DS : never played this
  9. Yoshi's Woolly World : hoping it rekindles Yoshi's Island
  10. Rime : purely based in its looks

I think after further thought, my most anticipated title is actually Zelda U. Otherwise it would've been Witcher 3 and Arkham Knight...

...but as we all know Witcher 3 has just been delayed; CDPR says it's because of bugs, but with the obvious downgrades (comparing initial trailers and latest videos) it no longer looks breathtaking, and I was never sold on the "Bigger than Skyrim" to be honest. Size is not what made Witcher 1 or 2 good and there's no way we can get the same attention to detail in side-quests with this massive scope.

As for Arkham Knight, I loved the narrative of Arkham City but Paul Dini is not involved and if the "Ace Chemicals pt. 3" trailer is anything to judge from Rocksteady is wrecking the batman IP on several levels. Batman is extremely pompous now, I'd even say downright dumb to listen to and he solves every major incident with firepower... basically he's anti-batman, and I don't care for having a way-too-big enemy faction that's militaristic. Batman was always into a more subdued approach to narrative and characters. This is, so far, completely in the wrong direction.

At first I was meh about Zelda U's footage from TGA, but the more time passes the more I begin to see the potential, and even when I don't like a Zelda game I still love it almost more than anything else I tend to play, so you really can't go wrong here.

Creaking

He touched the black heart of a mod
  1. Metal Gear Solid V: I've actually only ever beaten MGS4, but I adore everything this game is shaping up to be.
  2. Tekken 7: Arcade, hopefully home version before the end of the year
  3. Uncharted 4: It looks absolutely excellent, and Naughty Dog has generated quite the prodigious track record. I only hope that the multiplayer is well balanced, and not ruined by patches or revisions (Uncharted 3 summer beta, how I miss thee)
  4. Just Cause 3: I hope hope hope they don't screw this up. JC2 was excellent, though flawed. It's a real shame that they aren't going for multiplayer though. :(
  5. The Order 1886: Looking very beautiful and solid. Don't know if it'll be a launch title for me.
  6. Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires: Xtreme Legends CE was fun, and now that I've given it a bit of a break, I'm ready to hop back on board. ...once the price becomes reasonable. Still, Omega Force has been mostly on-point with their last few releases.
  7. Mortal Combat X: this is a bit of a strange one, 'cause I'm most certainly waiting for the Komplete edition before I buy this. I'll play my friend's copy though.
  8. Bloodborne: I'm not a huge Souls fan, but I do own and have beaten Demon's Souls. I played the alpha for Bloodborne, and I really enjoyed it. Except for that boss. Horrible camera.
  9. Battlefield Hardline: I'm a big fan of Battlefield, and I enjoyed what I played of the beta. It seems to be pretty much your basic Battlefield experience with a few fun new toys and game modes/maps.
  10. Batman: Arkham Knight: I've never owned a Batman game myself, but I beat Asylum and City with a friend, and I played a good chunk of Origins too. Arkham Knight looks pretty impressive.

Hope we get some good reveals at next year's E3. It feels like most of these games should've come out ages ago.

1. The Legend of Zelda :
The first HD Zelda (not counting the remake), the first real 3D open-world one, with some really interesting gameplay features from what we've seen recently. The world is huge, the game is in development, and Nintendo usually takes their time and spend quite a lot for Zelda games. Confident it'll learn from the errors of past games too.

2. Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain :
Ground Zeroes showed potential, and what they showed of TPP since its release is fantastic. Open world stealth, new and improved Mother Base, Fultons everywhere, impressive graphics, and seemingly great multiplayer. Will probably be the GOTY of most members of the press (if there's no surprise release of a bigger title).

3. Splatoon :
First "big" new IP from Nintendo in quite some time and it looks awesome! Brings some fresh air in the TPS market and the single player trailer just blew my mind. Absolutely can't wait.

4. No Man's Sky :
Really impressive to see this made by a team this small. I've been waiting for a game like this since many years, and I'll spend a lot of time exploring a lot of those places. Wish we saw more gameplay elements.

5. Dead or Alive 5 Last Round :
Thought this wouldn't be allowed in the list, but it apparently is. Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate is the fighting game I had the most fun playing during last gen, but left me disappointed with a lower resolution and blurry backgrounds. LR will fix that on 8th gen consoles, and for the first time on PC since that DOA online beta. New characters and other improvements are going to be there, I hope many people try at least Core Fighters (one of the best F2P models on console), it's a really fun and well-made fighting game.
Also pretty sure they made that so the audience transitions to new consoles before releasing DOAX3 and DOA6 (and Ninja Gaiden 4) there. Absolutely can't wait, might even buy the huge japanese collector edition (thanks Sony for the lack of region-lock).

6. Persona 5 :
Persona is not my favorite SMT series, but I still really like it when they know what they're doing. Apart from an older cast and clean graphics (Catherine was the kind of thing I wanted), we don't really know a lot of things, but that's promising enough.

7. The Witcher 3 :
The Witcher 2 fixed most of the first game's problems, and this third game seems to do the same thing but tenfold, all while pushing the gameplay to the max. Huge semi-linear open world RPG, great graphics, and more references to the books. Can't ask for more.

8. Devil's Third :
Now this one is interesting. It had a poor re-reveal, but the multiplayer trailer was really promising, all the tidbits Itagaki says are promising, and it has that crazy vibe that not a lot of games have anymore (sadly). Itagaki is a great game designer, and Nintendo is pushing him from behind to do what he wants, while doing some quality control. Will probably be underrated.

9. Batman Arkham Knight :
I loved both Batman games from Rocksteady (not so much the one from Eidos). More of the same but with a Batmobile and a bigger world? Sign me up!

10. Pillars of Eternity :
Backed it for a good reason: old-school CRPG made by old-school devs. Nobody better than Obsidian to do this, and what they showed until now looks fantastic. They can delay it as many times as they want, it won't age.

Honorable mentions: Rainbow 6 Siege, Godzilla, Yakuza 5, Bravely Second, Axiom Verge, Killing Floor 2, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, Xenoblade X Chronicles, Bloodborne (amongst others).

Typing from my phone so sorry if I have some typos.

1. Persona 5
Persona 3 and 4 were some of my favorite games ever. I can't wait to find out what HD Persona finally looks like.

2. Star Fox Wii U
As much as I hate gyroscope controls I have always loved Star Fox. I think I may have played the original 100 or more times. I would play it in one sitting every weekend since it was my only N64 game. I can't believe we're finally getting the first internally developed/Nintendo developed Star Fox since Star Fox 64. I'm so hyped, even if it's gimmicky.

3. Zelda Wii U
I really disliked Skyward Sword and disliked the pacing issues that plagued Twilight Princess and Wind Saker. Still really excited though.

4. No Man's Sky
Super excited to see how it turns out. It's pretty ambitious so I'm not sure it'll be worth the hype.

5. Xenoblade Chronicles X
Never got around to finishing Xenoblade due to other commitments, but I really enjoyed what I played and X in particular looks way more ambitious and visually impressive. Hopefully it's as good as I expect it to be.

6. Splatoon
The first major new internally developed IP from Nintendo in a long time. Not sure how well it'll turn out but I'm excited to play it.

7. Quantum Break
Absolutely loved Alan Wake and I have faith that this game will turn out well. The concept/story seems really interesting.

8. Rise of the Tomb Raider
Played the hell out of the first in the reboot series (it was my first Tomb Raider), story kind of fell apart by the end with some fantasy shenanigans, but the gun-play and set pieces were really good. Excited to see what they do.

9. Yoshi's Woolly World
Absolutely loved every game by Good Feel and this will probably be no different. I love the visual design.

10. Pokken Tournament
I love Pokémon and I enjoy Tekken. Super excited to play this.

This is really hard:

  1. Bloodborne: This is the system seller for me.
  2. Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin: yes, the next gen port/director's cut is a top-two game for me
  3. The Witness: Getting a real Myst vibe
  4. The Order 1886: Looks like a fun period adventure piece, my wife and I will probably play through it together, handing off the controller
  5. No Man's Sky: Can they really do it?
  6. Uncharted 4: these games are like (bloody) vacations for me
  7. Starbound (PS4): I've played hundreds of hours of Terraria for the PS3, when Starbound finally releases for the PS4 I'll be there day one.
  8. Rime: I feel like we're finally getting Adventure games again
  9. Zelda Wii U: I probably won't buy it, I don't have a Wii U. I've been very disappointed with Zelda games since at least TP. But I still have to see it.

1. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain : It's been almost seven years since the last console game. I much prefer Solid to Naked as a character, but Naked has the best game in the series and there is usually a higher gameplay to cutscene ratio in his games. I'm ready for more.

2. The Legend of Zelda Wii U : A console Zelda is always an event as we usually only get one per generation. I'm interested to see what they do with an open world. Hopefully they were just showcasing the vastness of it in the recent tease because it's pointless to make an open world if all it is is empty space.

3. Uncharted: A Thief's End : Uncharted was one of my favorite new series last generation and I can't wait to see what Naughty Dog does with it on the PS4. The recent demo made me even more excited, as I believe that battle looked the best piece of gameplay Naught Dog has ever done.

4. Axiom Verge : I need something to scratch my Metroid itch and this game isn't trying to hide from it's Metroid roots like other Metroidvania game does. It also takes some cues from Contra as well. The music and visuals are awesome, and the gameplay demo's I've seen are promising.

5. SOMA : Admittedly, all we have to go by is one trailer, but it looks bizarre as fuck. I'm very curious to see how Frictional is going to follow up The Dark Descent. If they can keep the scares and create an even more mysterious and weird setting to explore I will be very happy indeed.

6. The Witness : It definitely gave off some Myst vibes when I first saw it and heard about the concept. I love solving puzzles and exploring beautiful environments at my own pace, and this game has them both. I expect good things from this game.

7. Rime : Here we have what looks like a spiritual successor to ICO. Another game where I get to solve puzzles and explore beautiful environments. I was thrilled to the game doesn't have combat. It definitely looks like a game that will give me them feels!

8. Splatoon : Finally we get a "big" new IP from Nintendo. The game would be much higher on the list if it was single player focused, as I'm not much of a FPS/TPS multiplayer kind of guy. The campaign trailer looks incredible showcasing the kind of creativity that EAD is known for. I just hope there is enough of it to last more than a day or two.

9. Ratchet & Clank : I didn't particularly like the original Ratchet & Clank, but with each main entry in the series, Insomniac has gotten better. GC, UYA, TOD, and ACiT are four of my favorite games of all time. If they can re-imagine the original closer to those games and not stray too far from what makes the series great like they have with recent titles, this could be something special.

10. Resident Evil: Revelaitons 2 : Even if the series has fallen from greatness, it is still good fun. Claire and Barry have waited patiently in the shadows while Chris, Jill, and Leon have taken center stage. If nothing else it will be fun to see how their story unfolds and hopefully experience a unique blend of action and horror that Resident Evil is known for.

Edit: Honorable mentions for Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, Yoshi's Woolly World, Star Fox Wii U, Xenoblade Chronicles X, The Devil's Third, The Order: 1886, Bloodborne, The Witcher 3, Tearaway: Unfolded, Batman: Arkham Knight, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, Inside, Among the Sleep (PS4), Quantum Break, Rise of the Tomb Raider and Codename: S.T.E.A.M.

1. MGSV: TTP - It's my favorite game series ever, made by Mr Kojima. Could not be more excited.

2. Persona 5 - P4G on the Vita was a revelation for me and became my second favorite game ever. After I completed it I went back and played the older ones. Can't wait to play this on PS4.

3. Bloodborne - Love the art direction and the souls games and its directed by Miyazaki so of course I'm hyped!

4. Zelda - Grew up with zelda and loved them ever since LTTP on SNES. I really want to see how the new one turns out!

5. Uncharted 4 - Brilliant on PS3 and Drake is one of the best protagonists ever. Looking forward to it.

6. No Man's Sky - I love the ambition and potential of this game. I can see myself pouring dozens of hours into the universe.

7. Xenoblade Chronicles X - Brilliant JRPG on the Wii and almost certainly a brilliant game on the Wii U.

8. The Order 1886 - The latest footage hyped me beyond belief. Love the setting and characters and want to find out more

9. Witcher 3 - Love the universe and I can't wait to play

10. Type O HD - Always wanted to play this and finally I can :)

Honorable mentions: Batman AK, Rime, Yakuza 5 and Hotline Miami 2

Doing this list has made me realise how much epic stuff is in 2015 wow. A year to remember!

1. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt : The second game was one of my favourites of the last few years and I've grown fond of the setting in a way that is rare for me when it comes to the fantasy genre, so much so that I have started reading the novels. If they can seamlessly integrate the story depth that The Witcher 2 had into an open world and improve upon its shortcoming, particularly the combat, then CDPR will have something very special on their hands. I'm also looking forward to putting my newly built PC to work with this bad boy!

2. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain : I've always been a fan of this series, and over the years I've come to realise each entry is best enjoyed as a single entity rather than being viewed as part of a whole. They all have their own distinct theme and I'm really intrigued by what we've seen and know about this one so far. I've yet to play Ground Zeroes, but based on the gameplay trailers, the transition to open world stealth appears to be a good change. I know that it's the type of thing that will have me spending hours planning infiltration strategies and trying to pull them off perfectly.

3. Yoshi's Woolly World : I haven't owned a Nintendo system myself since the Gameboy, and as soon as I saw the trailer for this game, I immediately wanted to buy a Wii U. As much as some people will complain about Nintendo not investing in too many new IPs or making 2D side-scrollers, being someone who hasn't played the majority of their games, a lot of it will feel fresh to me and this game just looks so... comfortable. Honestly, I kind of need something like that in my life at the moment.

4. Grand Theft Auto V (PC) : I suppose it's a testament to how much I enjoyed this game last year that it's so high on this list now. I do have plenty of issues with its storytelling and the gameplay certainly isn't perfect, but nobody does detail like Rockstar does, and I can't wait to get lost in San Andreas all over again. This time, looking even more beautiful, performing smoother, using the first person perspective and with the potential for some great mods.

5. Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number : It looks like more Hotline Miami... and that's exactly what I want. I'm also looking forward to the plethora of new music tracks that I'm sure it'll introduce me to.

6. Pillars of Eternity : Obsidian are probably the best RPG developers in the world, so I'm there for anything with their name on it. This will also serve as a introduction into the cRPG genre for me as well, so much like with one of my reasons for looking forward to getting a Wii U, it'll feel fresh to me even if the concept is over a decade old.

7. Grim Fandango: Remastered : I've heard nothing but great things about this game and thankfully I've also managed to remain completely unspoiled on anything to do with it. From the few images I've seen, I love the style and the atmosphere really shines through. I'm excited to experience it for the first time.

8. Star Wars: Battlefront : We don't know anything about it yet, but I love Star Wars! So I'm in! I wouldn't even be unhappy if it's Battlefield with a Star Wars skin, I've always loved that multiplayer (although something a bit different would be welcome). Here's hoping it's predominantly inspired by the original trilogy and I can live out my childhood fantasies.

9. Galak-Z: The Dimensional : Something about this reminds me of Geometry Wars which is one of my favourite games, so I'm eager to try this out for myself. It looks responsive and fun to just pick up and start having a blast, and it's got a very unique style going for it too.

10. The Legend of Zelda (Wii U) : This game looks gorgeous. Link's Awakening is the only Zelda game I've ever played, and I was so young at the time I barely remember it, so I don't quite have the level of excitement for it that I know a lot of others do, but I'd be lying if I said it didn't look damn good. Again, it'll be a nice and welcome change of pace from the games I usually find myself playing, and hopefully it can kindle a love for it in me that so many of you already have.

1. Persona 5 : Arguably the best modern JRPG series is getting a new mainline title, which also means ATLUS can stop focusing on the Persona 4 cast

2. Zelda U : It's a new Zelda game that's not Skyward Sword

3. Bloodborne : Dark Souls was a really fun ARPG and this is the spiritual successor to that title (Since Dark Souls 2 was made by a B team and reused assets)

4. Star Fox U : Miyamoto is on the helm for this project and it's been far too long since the last entry in this series

5. Uncharted 4 : Finally the PS4 is getting some games I'm interested in. The improvements to the gameplay shown in the demo at PSX caught my interest.

6. Metal Gear Solid V : Seeing that TPP was a small taste, I'm highly anticipating the full meal with V.

7. Final Fantasy Type-0 HD : I enjoyed playing Crisis Core, so having another PSP Final Fantasy action game in HD seems like a treat (plus I really need that FF15 demo)

8. Xenoblade Chronicles X : The Wii U needs more JRPG goodness.

9. Splatoon : A new IP from Nintendo. The multiplayer itself looks to be pretty fun.

10. Mighty No. 9 : Early impressions from beta videos have disappointed me as a huge Mega Man fan, but the end product might happen to be very good. I mean come on, Inti Creates made the Zero series which was really fun and the composer has worked on past Mega Man titles and the soundtrack will also have a chip tune variation you can listen to.

1. The Legend of Zelda Wii U: After not enjoying Skyward Sword, The Game Awards footage for Zelda Wii U has me swooning, by showing how it's going "back to the roots" by being an open world game. The amount of freedom, lighting, and the flow of combat has made me more than excited to see how it shapes up.

2. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain: Even though I haven't played much of the Metal Gear Solid series, Kojima's trademark humor, MGS Online, and the sheer scale has me hooked. It's being released on my 18th birthday (June 22nd), so I couldn't ask for a better...."masculine" game to celebrate with.

3. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End: Even though Uncharted 3 left a bad taste in my mouth, Uncharted 4 looks to have dynamic level design and superb graphics and enemy A.I. "Naughty Gods," indeed!

4. Splatoon: It's great to see Nintendo throw their hat into the ring of a genre that I've grown rather tired of; multiplayer-focused shooters. It looks deliciously creative with a quality-looking single-player campaign to boot.

5. RiME: I have a deep affection for games such as ICO and Shadow of the Colossus, and adore Wind Waker's art-style, so I'm beyond excited to play RiME next year.

6. Yoshi's Woolly World: Yoshi's Island is one of my favorite SNES games. After the disappointments of Yoshi's Island DS and Yoshi's New Island, it seems we're getting the quality Yoshi game that the little dinosaur deserves.

7. Mighty No. 9: As a backer, I could not be more pumped to see Inafune making a Mega Man influenced game, with a new world of characters, gameplay mechanics, and ball-busting platforming.

8. StarFox Wii U: I haven't cared much for StarFox outside of Smash Bros. for the most part, but StarFox 64 3D caught my interest in the franchise and has made me want a similar StarFox game. Ever since Miyamoto brought Pikmin back from the grave with Pikmin 3, I can't wait to see how he handles bringing back classic StarFox 64 gameplay.

9. The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D: I've never played Majora's Mask (I know, shame on me...), so I can't wait to jump into this critically acclaimed "darker" Zelda with a fresh pair of eyes.

10. Ratchet and Clank Redux: Even though we know next to nothing about "Ratchet & Clank: The Game: The Movie: The Game," as I call it, I'm interested in seeing how Insomniac brings Ratchet to the PS4, and if it can match the level of quality that A Crack in Time had.

1. No Mans Sky : I just want to explore the stars.
2. Rainbow Six Siege : And hopefully Ubisoft won't ruin it.
3. Until Dawn : Who wouldn't want to play an interactive horror movie?
4. Omega Quintet : because Compile Heart games make me happy
5. Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory II : see above
6. Fairy Fencer F: Advent Dark Force : see above. My job makes me sad.

There are others which are more inevitabilities, these are the ones I'm actually excited about as opposed to just planning to buy, complete, and forget.

1. No Man's Sky : Even though I am skeptical of the gameplay, this is still the game that I am most excited for next year.

2. Halo 5 Guardians : Have always loved Halo and am looking forward to a new entry in the series.

3. Metal Gear Solid V : Fell away from the series after the departure of MGS2 but loved the gameplay(what little there was) in IV.

4. Uncharted 4 : Loved the first in the series and the recent gameplay video gave me serious flashbacks to the original.

5. Quantum Break : Excited but somewhat worried about what looks like a good TPS with some jank in the platforming in an otherwise beautiful game.

6. The Witcher 3 : Can't wait, needs to stop being delayed.

7. Evolve : The New campaign mode they announced might put this back on my must buy list.

From Here On Down, Probably won't be 2015 but who knows:

8: Crackdown
9. Star Wars Battlefront
10. Battleborn

1. Fallout 4 (..lol)

Now for the real list, just going to add only confirmed 2015 games to the list. I'm sure there'll be a few announcements soon.

All of them are PS4 titles.

1. Star Wars: Battlefront: I know we've barely seen anything but I have faith DICE will deliver a true successor to the series and perhaps even a spiritiual successor to 2142. Really excited.

2. No Man's Sky: I can see myself spending countless hours just exploring the worlds and flying my ship. Haven't been this excited for a digital-only title in years. Still some question marks but for now everything looks amazing. The developers seem extremely passionate about the game and sci-fi in general.

3. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End: Naughty Dog have proven to be one of my favourite developers and the PSX demo has gotten me hyped beyond belief. Glad to have Nathan back, even if it is in fact for one more outing. If it's as half as good as The Last of Us, I'll be very happy.

4. The Division: The setting looks great, combat looks fun but the rest of the gameplay remains to be seen. If it even comes close to matching their ambition and isn't a huge letdown then I'll be very happy.

5. Batman: Arkham Knight: It looks great, even though I have somewhat franchise fatigue. Still, I really enjoyed both Asylum and City, Rocksteady have proven to be fantastic developers and the game is hitting all the right notes so far.

6. The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt: I've never played a Witcher game but this looks and sounds fantastic. Lots of complaints about downgrades but everything sounds huge and love the fact that they want to tie side-quests into the main quest.

7. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain: A little franchise fatigue but Ground Zeroes has proven to me that the gameplay has evolved to the point where I'm very very interested. In Kojima fashion, it still has some nice quirks and doesn't take itself seriously, which makes me happy. Right now though I couldn't care less about the story, I'm a little lost.

8. Assassin's Creed: Victory: I'll be honest, especially after Unity; Ubisoft's trademark checklist gameplay annoys me to the point where I was going to skip the next one. That was until I saw it 's in Victorian London. If they can smooth out the gameplay, I'm 100% in. They've already hooked me with the setting and the setting is the primary reason I play Assassin's Creed.

Besides the top 3, there's not much that I'm really gagging for but I'm most definitely interested in all of them. It's only 8 because those are the only games I'm getting. My mantra is less games and more value for money this gen. I've been burned a few times already.

1: Bloodborne -- Loved every second of the alpha and it is Miyazaki
2: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain -- MGS3 is my favorite game ever, so a new MGS is always highly anticipated
3: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End -- It's Naughty Dog, can move higher or lower depending on the first look at the mp.
4: No Man's Sky -- Looks like a blast to just explore planets for hours
5: Batman: Arkham Knight -- Back with Rocksteady
6: The Order: 1886 -- Incredible visuals, awesome art direction, loved RAD's GOW games
7: The Witness -- Exploring an abandoned island and solving puzzles, what is not to look forward to
8: Assassin's Creed Victory -- Took this year off from the AC games, and the London setting is intriguing.
9: Until Dawn -- Cheesy teen horror slasher where I get to make all of the dumb decisions, sign me up!
10: Ratchet and Clank Re-imagined -- Excited to see what Insomniac has in store for PS4, especially with how well Sunset Overdrive turned out.

Is StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void eligible now that it has been confirmed to be a stand-alone release? Because it really should be (and if it isn't, Nintendo is riding roughshod over my list essentially unopposed).

1. The Legend of Zelda (Wii U) : This is a series that never left its place in the highest rung of video games for me, and an entry that looks to recreate the vastness of my favourite instalment (Wind Waker) while stripping out the conventional linearity of the 3D series belongs at the top of my list this year or any other year.

2. StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void : Blizzard's RTS campaign design has only become more interesting and mechanically varied with every release since Warcraft III, and I expect the trend to continue here. Meanwhile, the risks the designers are taking with the overhaul of the multiplayer, should they survive the beta, look to reset the metagame from scratch and restore the diversity and cunning of the game's early months before everything was optimized to a razor's edge.

3. Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. : Advance Wars and Fire Emblem earned Intelligent Systems their spot as best-in-class in rapid, slick, yet cerebral turn-based strategy, and their foray into the XCOM format looks more than ready to carve out an identity of its own with its unique resource system and design aesthetic.

4. Mario Maker : More than just a Mario level editor, this is a toy box for mixing and matching Mario enemies and obstacles in unforeseen combinations and seeing what zany interactions pop out. Presumably there will be fluid, functional online sharing of player creations, as that is the one unknown factor that could make all the difference between a briefly diverting curiosity and an enduring staple of any Wii U library.

5. Splatoon : Competitive shooters are decidedly not my genre, but what we have seen so far of the single-player content suggests an action platformer that takes the fundamentals of Super Mario Sunshine in a new, infectious aesthetic direction, singularly unique yet unmistakably Nintendo.

6. Xenoblade Chronicles X : The first Xenoblade delivered a promising battle system in the frame of an unforgettable environment to explore, but was marred by the occasional underdeveloped tedium in its optional content, collectibles, and inventory management. Xenoblade X looks to expand the versatility of the battle system with a fully customizable player character, and one hopes it will work out the kinks of its predecessor while avoiding the trap of trivializing the vastness of its world with the otherwise tantalizing addition of flying around in mechs.

7. Invisible, Inc. : Klei Entertainment is high in my books as one of the most reliably captivating independent developers around, and their first foray into turn-based tactics is a stealth-centric design that is by all appearances novel and richly implemented. I am ready to pull the trigger on this game as soon as it leaves Early Access, from which the early word-of-mouth is already very good.

8. Yoshi's Woolly World : This is the most gorgeous game I have beheld in the entire slate of releases for 2015. What remains to be seen is whether it can distinguish itself from the history of forgettable efforts to match the original Yoshi's Island, which art design alone will not accomplish. Kirby's Epic Yarn sported some of the most memorable art and music of its day but was not especially noteworthy in how it played, so I am cautious in my optimism.

9. Kirby and the Rainbow Curse : Canvas Curse is admittedly the only Kirby game that has ever truly clicked with me, and I am thrilled to see it return in a dashing claymation exterior. One only hopes it can match the speed, dynamism, and level diversity of its forebear on the DS.

10. Massive Chalice : The fiasco with Spacebase DF-9's departure from Early Access is fresh on everyone's mind, but if Double Fine sees this through to completion as promised, the prospect of blending turn-based tactics, dynasty management, and the studio's characteristic wit and charm is not one I will resist.

Notable omissions that I am nevertheless certain to play: Bravely Second (not yet known to be on course for localization, as likely as it will be), Star Fox (for which the anticipation rests wholly on the strength of Miyamoto's good name), Majora's Mask 3D (a remake), Grim Fandango Remastered (one of my favourite games in history, but a remake).

In this order, it is this for me :).

1) Persona 5: Thanks to NeoGaf, I am a huge fan of the series, having a blast playing through Persona 4 Golden many times and loving Persona 3 Portable :D. So, now knowing the 5th game is coming very soon, I can't wait to try it out! The soundtrack, the core story, and the cast are all complete unknowns at this point....leading me to be really excited to see what the P-Team are planing to pull off with Persona 5 :).

2) Majora's Mask 3D: Considering this is my all-time favorite Zelda game and that I recently got a 2DS....I am very excited to replay this classic with all the enhancements from OoT 3D and other new elements Nintendo has in store for us :). The dark atmosphere, the fun gameplay, an versatile Link with his many masks and the updated visuals all make playing the game one of gaming's best experiences for me. Being able to do that anywhere I go, now that sounds great in my book :).

3) Batman: Arkam Knight: IF I get a PS4 next year....this is the game I want with it :). I loved Arkam City and really enjoyed Arkam Asylum, so knowing that Rocksteady is making this and the game closing off the Arkam series, I expect big things from this game. The Batmoble and the larger open world look amazing and it is going to be a lot off fun exploring Gotham in amazing 1080p (I think the game is going to run at that? I don't think anything is confirmed yet).

4) Ratchet and Clank - Redux: Ratchet and Clank is one of my favorite Sony franchises, so seeing the series on the PS4 has me really excited. Insomniac pushed the PS3 a lot with the Future games and Into the Nexus, leading to amazing results (and a solid frame-rate for the Future games to boot! That is impressive :D). With the power of the PS4 and everyone getting a taste of what they can do with Next-Gen hardware with Sunset Overdrive....this game has the potential to be a looker on the PS4 :). The guns, the platforming and everything I know will be excellent (as Into the Nexus, while very short, was a wonderful action/platformer), so I am hoping for this to be a lot of fun :).

1. Bloodborne: Dark Souls is one of my favorite games of all-time, so I can't wait to see what Miyazaki and the rest of the From Software A-Team have got in store for us.

2. Persona 5: Likewise, Persona 3 and 4 are two of my favorite games ever, so I'm dying to get my hands on the next mainline Persona game. Potentially more exciting than Bloodborne for me, but we barely know anything about the game yet.

3. The Legend of Zelda for Wii U: I'm a huge Zelda fan and I'm loving everything about the scope, scale, and graphical style of this upcoming entry in the franchise. Slightly concerned the overworld won't have enough interesting things to do in it, but either way, I'm sure it'll be a fun time.

4. Xenoblade Chronicles X: The original Xenoblade is easily the best JRPG released on last generation consoles. Can't wait to experience another lengthy RPG in that vein in HD. Super happy you'll be able to customize and design the lead character too.

5. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain: Disappointments with the level of content in Ground Zeroes aside, it certainly wet my appetite for a full-scale Metal Gear game with those controls and graphics. Can't wait to explore the touted open-world environments as Big Boss with DD by my side. Here's hoping Kojima successfully sets up the original MSX Metal Gear with the story in this game.

6. No Man's Sky: Hello Games have been showing and saying all the right things about this title. Can't wait to kickback and leisurely explore the galaxy in this ambitious game.

7. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End: I loved the Uncharted trilogy on PS3, but was also happy to see Naughty Dog move on to something new with The Last of Us. That said, I cannot deny how hyped I was for this game after the reveal trailer and most recent PSX footage. One last time, Nate. One last time.

8. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt: Try as I may, I can never finish a Witcher game. I put 20 hours each into 1 and 2 but never finished them. The combat and environments never se to grab me. That said, I'm in total awe of the graphics and scale on display in the footage we've seen of The Witcher 3, so I'm really looking forward to trying my hand at one of these games again. Hopefully the third time is the charm.

9. Batman: Arkham Knight: I really enjoyed those first two Rocksteady-developed Arkham games, but I was totally burnt out by 2013's Arkham Origins. While I'm not loving all the Batmobile tank footage Rocksteady keep putting out there, I'm still excited to see how they close their trilogy with this game. Also, graphically, it looks fucking amazing. My god.

10. Code Name: S.T.E.A.M: Games like Valkyria Chronicles and XCOM are my jam, so I can't wait to see what Intelligent Systems deliver with this amazing premise.

1. Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain : When Kojima get's this enthused and creative about a game, you just know something amazing is on it's way. Ground Zeroes proved this is the best playing MGS yet and the extended gameplay demonstrations have been the single best showings of any game I've ever seen this gen. Add in a story that's focused on the straightfoward and emotional rather than the complex and philosophical, and we have a potential classic in the making. Metal Gear Online also looks to be as unique and enjoyable as ever. It really is the complete package.

2. Xenoblade Chronicles X : The best JRPG of last gen was Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii, this looks to continue everything that made the last one great, if it even approaches the quality of the previous title then this is another winner.

3. Persona 5 : The last two games were like an entire, epic manga series condensed into a single disc and playable as a fantastic role playing game. I adored Persona 3 and especially 4 and I really hope this carries on the greatness.

4. Zelda Wii U : I've played almost every Zelda, I've thoroughly enjoyed almost every Zelda and I really think the open world aspect will create some great gaming moments and some excellent memories too.

5. Batman Arkham Knight : Being Batman has yet to get boring and the series has yet to let me down.

6. Zelda Majora's Mask : I'm just excited to relive the masterpiece with updated visuals and the added ease of a quick access inventory screen.

7. Uncharted 4 : The last game really burned me, but the recent gameplay showing reminded me just how much I like playing these games. Even though A Thiefs End isn't quite a revolution it still looks like a big step up after after 3.

8. No Man's Sky : Each showing has really wowed me, and while I want to try it out I do wonder how long it could keep my attention.

1. The Legend of Zelda (Wii U)

It's a Zelda game, it's safe to bet it's gonna be good, but this is shaping up to be the biggest Zelda game to date (in map size, at least) and I couldn't possibly be more excited for any games on this list. Its open-world nature is a dream come true and its art direction is simply lovely. I haven't been this hype and I haven't seen the internet and media this hype for a Zelda game since Twilight Princess. Plus, it's the first new HD Zelda.

X4g9Lwo.png

2. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End (PS4)

I was pretty late to the party on Uncharted 1 and 2, and thought Uncharted 1 was a okay game at best, but Uncharted 2 floored me. Uncharted 3 was also great, just not as good. I still love the series and if there's one thing that impresses me with the job I have, it's pretty games. And Uncharted 4 is that.

5XG3FDL.png

3. The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D (3DS)

I've only ever completed Majora's Mask on Nintendo 64 twice. At the time, it was my least favorite Zelda game. With time, I came to learn just how deep and emotional it was (something I didn't understand in my young age) and I can't wait to revisit it and understand everything once it comes out on 3DS.

y99CXJw.png

4. Bloodborne (PS4)

No real reason in particular. It just looks wicked cool. And I liked Dark Souls II, so I can't wait to play a game that's actually made by Miyazaki's team.

HTk5W8E.png

5. Batman: Arkham Knight (PC/PS4/XB1)

Loved Arkham Asylum, loved Arkham CIty and while Arkham Origins was okay, Rocksteady is the only true master of Batman games. I cannot wait for this conclusion. One of the most visually impressive games of 2015, as well. I am Batman.

6. No Man's Sky (PC/PS4)

The very moment I saw the reveal trailer, I fell in love with this game. Exploring a world with nearly infinite possibilities, discovering planets that can be later visited by other players I just know is gonna feel fantastic. Plus, the soundtrack sounds amazing.

7. Xenoblade Chronicles X (Wii U)

Mechas that transforms into tanks fighting dinosaurs. That is all.

8. Star Wars: Battlefront (PC)

I was a huge fan of Battlefront II and was eagerly awaiting III before it was cancelled in its shell. Now seeing it resurrected by DICE and EA fills me with hope that they won't screw up this one. I would have put it higher, but we haven't seen any actual gameplay of it yet.

9. Splatoon (Wii U)

Nintendo is finally making its own third-person shooter... with a twist! The painting mechanic is very unique and interesting and I can't wait to give this one a go.

1. Persona 5: I absolutely love the Persona series, and have been waiting for 5 for years. Can't wait to dive into this one.

2. The Legend of Zelda Wii U: If asked what my favorite series of all time is, Zelda ranks up there near the top, if not at number one. This one looks absolutely amazing, and I cannot wait.

3. Final Fantasy XV: Despite the troubled development, this is still a game that I have been waiting to play for 8 years now. Hopefully it arrives on time in 2015, but I have a feeling this one will slip into 2016, at least for the US.

4. Xenoblade Chronicles X: Another game that I cannot wait to get involved in. This one should be fantastic.

5. No Man's Sky: I'm really hopeful that this game turns out to be as amazing as it has sounded for the past year. Because if so, I may get lost in it for quite some time.

6. Final Fantasy Type-0 HD: I've been wanting to play Type 0 since it first released, and now we'll finally be able to. Should be good.

7. The Witcher 3: I'm a big fan of the first two, and this one will be no exception for me. A little sad that it was delayed into May, but still excited to give it a go when it releases.

8. Metal Gear Solid 5: Another series that I've spent a lot of time with, this game should be fantastic.

9. Uncharted 4: I'll admit that I'm not as crazy for Uncharted as a lot of other folks, but I can't deny that this game doesn't look amazing, and I'm sure it will play amazing as well.

10. Until Dawn: This spot was hard to decide between Bloodborne and Until Dawn. Ultimately, I went with Until Dawn because I think it's going to really capture that classic horror style movie feeling. Bloodborne is going to be great as well, but I had to give the last spot on my list to Until Dawn.

Honorable Mentions go to Bloodborne, Tales of Zestiria, Yakuza 5, Star Fox Wii U, Omega Quintet, Sword Art Online: Lost Song, and Star Wars Battlefront.

1. The Killing Floor 2: I put around 750 hours in the first game, I will put for sure another 750 in this one.

2. Overwatch: Team Fortress 2 is my third most played online game but I left it since I got tired of it, I am so excited to see what Overwatch will bring to the table that I applied to the beta.

3. Persona Dancing All Night: I love rhythm games.

4. Mighty No. 9: I loved Mega Man as a child.

5. Hotline Miami 2: I want to know if the story will continue where it ends in the first game.

6. Grim Fandango HD: I never have played it but I always have heard great things about it.

7. Day of the Tentacle: See above.

8. Resident Evil Revelations 2: I want to see how will be this on Vita.

9. Zelda WiiU: I am very interested to see what Aonuma will do with an open world game.

10. Pillars of Eternity: A cRPG by a dream team.

1. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain: Last year I put Ground Zeroes as my most anticipated game, and this year I'm going with The Phantom Pain. Perhaps it's just the hype talking, but I feel like MGSV is going to be one of the greatest games of all time. The story seems to be taking a more mature turn while retaining Kojima's brand of crazy. The graphics are jaw dropping and the gameplay looks sublime. Add in Jack Bauer and one hell of an online mode and I'd say MGSV is a contender for GOAT.

2: Yoshi's Wooly World: A charming art style and my favourite Nintendo character; what's not to like?

3. Bloodborne: Dark fantasy and great gameplay put Bloodborne high on my list, especially as a huge Demon's Souls fan!

4. The Order: 1886: The Order has caught plenty of flak since the first gameplay reveal, due to an emphasis on linear gameplay and a "filmic" direction. However, I absolutely adore what Read At Dawn has shown off thus far and even welcome the narrative driven and cinematic direction the studio has chosen to pursue.

5. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End: What needs to be said about this one that hasn't been said before? The gameplay looks like the perfect evolution of the Uncharted formula, the graphics are spectacular and of course, it's got that Uncharted charm. Naughty Dog are going to knock it out of the park.

6. Omega Quintet: Compile Heart's first foray onto the PS4. While Compile Heart's obsession with fanservice has become more annoying than funny in recent years, the studio's games still radiate charm. Looking forward to this one - and hopefully Neptunia VII makes it out in 2015 as well!

7. Yakuza 5: It's finally coming!!!!!

8. Axiom Verge: More Metroidvania goodness!

9. Killing Floor 2: Loved the first game, and looking forward to pumping more hours into the second game - on both PC and PS4!

10. Until Dawn: As a huge fan of Beyond: Two Souls, I don't mind Until Dawn taking cues from David Cage's style of game design. The campy, B-movie theme looks great, and I'm hoping Supermassive can deliver an enjoyable experience.

1. Persona 5 (PS4) - This game can confirm all the expectations regarding how big this franchise can be in the JRPG genre. I see potential in the franchise to become as great as Final Fantasy was a decade ago.

2. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End (PS4) - The debut of Nathan Drake in current-gen. The graphics and facial expression of its human characters are looking incredible. Animations are looking really improved and it's Naughty Dog.

3. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (PC) - The game looks incredibly beautiful and its open world and RPG-story looks ambitious. Hope the game can deliver that graphical quality shown in the first demonstrations.

4. The Order: 1886 (PS4) - Graphics and environment looks amazing. It will probably be one of the best looking games ever. Also, I really enjoy cinematic games.

5. Rise of the Tomb Raider (Xbox One) - I really enjoyed the reboot and the enhanced version on PS4/Xbox One. If it's like Uncharted with Lara, I'm all in.

6. Grand Theft Auto V (PC) - The Rockstar's powerhouse with the enhancement of a PC version.

7. Metal Gear Solid V: The Panthom Pain (PC) - A sequel for one of the most bigger franchises in video game history. You can't ignore that.

8. Tom Clancy's The Division (PC) - It will be my first game in the series. I'm impressed with its demonstrations so far.

9. Batman: Arkham Knight (PC) - The debut of Rocksteady's franchise in current-gen. Also, I love Harley.

10. Until Dawn (PS4) - I really enjoyed what I saw at PSX. I was gonna put Silent Hills in this list, but the game has no confirmation for 2015, so I'll vote for Until Dawn as the representative of the horror genre.

1.Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (One of my favorite series of all time. Ground Zeroes was very fun and Kojima rarely disappoints.)

2.Persona 5 (I'm starving for some new JRPG titles and this should do nicely. Loved P3 & P4)

3.Uncharted 4 (Great series by an amazing developer)

4.The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (Loved Witcher 2 so I'm fully expecting to love this one as well.)

5. Bloodborne ( Another Souls type game sounds good to me.)

6. Yakuza 5 (Been playing the series since the very beginning. I had almost lost hope of ever playing this one but it's finally coming!)

7.Tales of Zestiria ( Big fan of the Tales series even though I have been kinda disappointed with the last few in the series. Hoping this one breaks that cycle)

8. Xenoblade Chronicles X ( I don't even have a Wii U and I'm excited for this one. Really enjoyed the first Xenoblade game)

9.Until Dawn ( I liked what I saw at the Playstation Experience. I'm a sucker for games that give you different choices and outcomes)

10.Resident Evil HD (The HD remake of the remake of one of my favorite games of all time! Yes I'll be buying this)

  1. Cuphead - Have been in love with the art since E3. The hand drawn aspects of the game are amazing.
  2. Mirrors Edge 2 - Please.
  3. Ratchet & Clank - Loved every true R&C game. Can't wait for more.
  4. Inside
  5. Star Wars Battlefront
  6. Homeworld Remastered - Please be good.
  7. OOTP Baseball 16 - Horribly under appreciated. An amazing sim experience, one of the best PC games out there.
  8. Star Fox
  9. Grim Fandango - Never played it. Gotta fix that.
  10. Until Dawn - Love the idea. Can't wait to play with the GF.

1. Persona 5:
Katsura Hashino has directed two compelling JRPGs, evidently a dying breed, in P3 and P4, and even if he wasn't heading this up, Shoji Meguro and Shigenori Soejima on music and art design respectively would have got me very interested. I thought I was moving away from JRPGs behind, then I found Persona. If it's comparable to P4, it'll be one of my all-time favourites. Even if it falls a decent way short, I'd be happy to spend 100+ hours with it. Can't wait.

2. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain:
When Kojima fails, he still makes more interesting games than almost anyone else in the "AAA" space. If he can rein in his excesses, I have no doubt he can deliver something comparable to MGS 1-3 once more, for a new generation. Ground Zeroes showed that MGS can be played in open environments while retaining its tight design and infiltration focus.

3. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End:
Take the lessons from the roaring success that was The Last of Us back to Uncharted - giving the player more options in how to approach encounters, improving AI - add a slightly damper, more serious tone to Nate's adventures, and there should be another success for Naughty Dog.

4. The Legend of Zelda: Wii U:
There's still, for all the myriad faults of Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess, an air about mainline console Zelda titles that no other series holds. It's not going for serious, toughened action, but it is going for a sprawling adventure, with more emphasis on puzzles and innovative design than most anything else. If Aonuma can cut out the filler, keep the meat cooked, and add a little spice, I believe another genuinely great Zelda title possible.

5. Rime:
A colourful adventure game that looks to draw inspiration from ICO. It could end up uninteresting and derivative, but it could also be an excellent adventure that makes most of its competition look banal by comparison. I have hope.

6. Xenoblade Chronicles X:
Not the biggest fan of Xenoblade, but it had its moments, and I could definitely understand why it had a broad appeal. Tetsuya Takahashi has been able to make quite different types of RPG during his career, and has always had an adventurous streak. Hope I can get into it.

7. Ori and the Blind Forest:
I was blown away by its E3 trailer - it's exactly the kind of atmospheric platformer that I love. Art echoes Princess Mononoke.

8. The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D:
One of the biggest holes in my gaming history. I was blown away by the OoT 3D improvements - UI and visually, and am very much looking forward to this.

9. Batman: Arkham Knight:
I thought Arkham City was one of the stronger "AAA" titles of the last gen, and hope Rocksteady can improve on it. Wish they could be a bit more creative with their "dungeons" and bosses.

10. Yakuza 5:
I have no experience with this series but a lot of people whose opinions I take seriously think it's excellent. Excited to try it out.

1. Splatoon:

A new IP with all the polish and content of a Mario game is something people harp on about getting from Nintendo all the time. And Splatoon is exactly the kind of thing I hoped they'd come out with. The multiplayer looks entertaining, the mechanics are wonderfully creative, the character design is iconic already and the music is catchy and trippy, but the reveal of the single player campaign is what made this game top my list. I was wondering if it would just be an arena shooter, but it's shaping up to be a full Nintendo experience.

2. Dai Gyakuten Saiban:

The Ace Attorney franchise is one of my favourites in gaming. However, I feel like the most recent ones (or to be more specific, Dual Destinies and AAI1) have really become too wacky and "out there" with their murder mysteries and the main cast has started to feel a bit too bloated. I think it's great that Takumi is on the case again, and hopefully without the executive meddling that weakened Apollo Justice and Layton VS Wright's writing. The new setting also really helps the game feel fresh. I fully expect it to be as good as the original Ace Attorney and Ghost Trick.

3. Zelda U:

I've never been the biggest Zelda fan. However, what Nintendo showed us at E3 and the way the game has been described just makes it sound so exciting and inviting. I'm looking forward to seeing the Nintendo approach to an open world.

4. Yoshi's Wooly World:

It looks really cute and charming. Plus it'll be really nice to have a Yoshi game that's better than adequate.

5. Kirby and the Rainbow Curse:

Power Paintbrush was one of the best games on the DS, and the claymation style visuals look fantastic.

6. The Witness:

Braid has to have been one of the smartest and most fulfilling puzzle games I've played and this game looks incredibly pretty. I'm looking forward to experiencing what Blow has had in the works for so long.

7. Mario Maker:

I can't see myself playing this for weeks on end since customisation features always end up boring me once I've exhausted all the options, but they really seem to be rolling in more and more features for this and if it's a truly expansive customisation tool, I can see it being very enjoyable and eating up a lot of my time. Plus if it has online sharing, I expect some great user created Mario stages.

8. Persona 5:

I'll admit that 4 is the only Persona game that I got especially invested in and I really enjoyed it for its storyline and characters. Being a big Ace Attorney fan, I do like a good murder mystery and quirky character cast. If 5 is like 4 and I eventually get a PS4, I'll bite.

9. The Mighty No. 9:

For all the crap I've talked about regarding this game, at the end of the day, it's still a side scrolling 2D platformer with awesome music. So how can I not be at least a bit excited?

10. Azure Striker Gunvolt:

Most people here have already played it so I'm less excited for it than I was when I first learned that it was a thing. But it still looks like a very fun experience, or at least a decent distraction.
