NeoGAF Votes: Most Anticipated 2015 Game (voting ends January 1st, 11:59 PM EST)

  1. Metal Gear Solid V : The Phantom Pain : It's an open world Metal Gear, what more do you want?
  2. No Man's Sky : My dream game may be coming true. Not only does this game look stunning with its worlds, but the music is going to be the best OST of 2015. It was hard to put this after Metal Gear, but I've simply seen more and been too invested in Metal Gear to give away the number 1 spot.
  3. Uncharted 4 : Naughty Dog is the Mr.Clean of the gaming industry. They polish everything to a shine, and Uncharted 4 looks like it's merging the best of Uncharted and the stealth/combat of The Last of Us along with a new aspect of verticallity in level design. Uncharted is easily gonna be one of the best games of the year, and will probably be remembered as this gens "Uncharted 2".
  4. Persona 5 : I'm pretty new to Persona, but P5 on the PS4 was a great surprise and I can't wait to delve into a new world and find love in the virtual space! Can love bloom in the virtual space?
  5. Bloodborne : Looks like a return to form after the somewhat disappointing Dark Souls II, at least in terms of level/world design. Souls games will always have my interest and love, and I can't wait to delve into the lore and pretend to be Ash with my boomstick.

1. Bloodborne - When I tried to get into MH, I did so because watching the combat reminded me of Dark Souls. I was very wrong there. But here, I get this weird sort of "hunting" vibe crossed with the dungeon exploration of Dark/Demon's Souls games. This is the reason I want a PS4 right here.
2. Uncharted 4 -- Benefit of getting the PS4. The new structure to the battles looks FANTASTIC and I can't wait to see if it strikes a good balance between puzzles & exploration versus combat like some of the games in the series did.
3. The Witcher 3 - Played the first game earlier this year, need to get through the second to see how the combat system has changed... love Geralt and will definitely be excited to check this out.
4. The Order 1886 -- I haven't really found a cover based TPS to fill the gap since Gears 3 and this looks wonderfully done. A benefit of picking up my PS4 for Bloodborne.
5. Mortal Kombat X -- Shaping up nicely, but I'm skeptical at the Injustice influence with interactable backgrounds.
6. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain -- I don't know, I've lost my hype for the series at this point. I really liked MGS4, but the games featuring Big Boss don't grab me the same way as the games featuring Solid Snake... I'll check out GZ when it releases on PC in a week and maybe I'll change my mind and this will move up the list.
7. RE: Revelations 2 -- Should be an interesting experiment. Episodic releases, Claire as the main character... I still need to play RE:R, so yeah, we'll see how this turns out. At least the price point is good.
8. GTA5 -- Waiting for reviews on performance here. With no release date or PC details in sight, I'm a bit cynical about it until I see it finished and the word on the street is good. If so, it skyrockets up the list as I thought the first person mode in the trailer looked fantastic.
9. Killing Floor 2 -- Curious to see how this turns out. The first one is a good time, but it's rough around the edges and the new one looks like they put a lot of time and effort into refining it for the sequel.
10. Resident Evil Remake -- Always wanted to play it on GC, never got around to it. It will be great to finally get a chance after all these years.

Honorable Mention:
Persona 5 -- Loved Persona 4 Golden, but I'm a bit weary of jumping into a Persona release seeing as the last two got updated (better) versions.
Quantum Break -- Don't own an X1, won't be getting one, but the game looks like it has premise. Will wait to see if it comes to PC.
Rise of the Tomb Raider -- TR2013 was the best Uncharted game I'd ever played... and then MS moneyhatted the sequel into temporary exclusive so I won't be playing this in 2015.
FF Type-0 -- I'll have a PS4 by the time this comes out, most likely, but I'm still salty over the skipping of a Vita port and of the way the announcement was botched.

1. Pillars of Eternity : I am a rabid fan of all Obsidian's past titles and prefer the style of "old school" RPG they are attempting with this one. So sad that is delayed until 2015 :(

3. Mortal Kombat X
4. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
5. Resident Evil Revelations 2
6. Bloodborne
7. Mario Maker
8. Until Dawn
9. Dead Island 2
10. Xenoblade Chronicles X

Honorable Mentions: Uncharted 4, The Order: 1886, Majora's Mask 3D, Star Wars Battlefront, & Project CARS

1. Ori and the Blind Forest : Ori is almost everything I could want in a platformer/adventure game with an incredible art style to boot. The delay from 2014 hurts but it still tops my most anticipated.

2. Halo 5: Guardians : I'm a big fan of a lot of the changes shown so far. Guardians represents the most I've been excited for a Halo game in quite a while.

3. Rise of the Tomb Raider : Loved the reboot and I can't wait to see how Crystal Dynamics expands and improves on it with the sequel.

4. Assassin's Creed Victory : I thoroughly enjoyed Unity and thought it was one of the best AC games in years. The initial information out there for Victory suggests it will be fairly similar.

5. Quantum Break : What Remedy has shown so far looks really impressive.and seems to have a lot of unique gameplay elements that look to make it something special.

6. Hyper Light Drifter : Has all the makings to be the indie darling of 2015. An action-RPG with a beautiful art style and seemingly incredible soundtrack make putting this on the list easy.

7. Xenoblade Chronicles X : AAA JRPGs will always instill a bit of excitement in me. Missing out on the first game makes me even more antsy to finally play this.

8. The Legend of Zelda Wii U : Even though not much has been shown, it's hard not to be excited about a new Zelda entry, especially one that seems to hold a ton of potential.

9. Below : A game that, by this point, feels a long time coming. Regardless, it looks beautiful and has a sense of wonder and mystery that a lot of games lack.

10. No Man's Sky : While not owning a PS4 or gaming PC means I'll be waiting longer than others it's still impossible to not be somewhat excited about the prospects of this game. It has the potential to be one of the most extraordinary games ever if Hello Games manages to make the stars align.

7. Batman: Arkham Knight
8. The Witcher 3
9. Yakuza 5
10. The Order: 1886

1. Pillars of Eternity: I'm always in the mood for an RPG where the designers take the conversations as seriously as they do the combat. When this finally launches, I expect I'll shut up about developers building big, beautiful worlds and giving me nothing interesting to do in them. I'll be too busy playing.

2. Codename: STEAM: A turn-based strategy game from IS is bound to be good. I am excited that they're trying a new template (not that I wouldn't love another Advance Wars or Fire Emblem, mind you), and I can't wait to see the result.

3. Bloodborne: Between Demon's Souls and Dark Souls, I've got lot of faith that Miyazaki's next game will be worth my time. In fact, Dark Souls was the first game I can remember supplanting "next Zelda" in my personal ranking of most-anticipated games. The only things depressing my anticipation for Bloodborne are (1) my concern that the setting may be a bit too dreary and horrific for my tastes and (2) the fact that I'm still a little burned out from Dark Souls 2.

4. Splatoon: Nintendo has been so good at local multiplayer for so long that I cannot wait to get my hands on their take on an arena shooter.

5. The Legend of Zelda: Zelda is my favorite series, but it's been such a long time since I loved a console Zelda without reservation that I've lost a lot of faith in Aonuma and company. I hope ALBW is a sign of renewal. And I hope they've got big ideas to fill their enormous world map.

6. Mario Maker: My mileage with this is going to depend on online sharing. I am giving this a high ranking in the spirit of optimism.

7. Batman: Arkham Knight: It's going to be great. Odds are it will be better than some of the games I'm anticipating more.

8. Kirby and the Rainbow Curse: Canvas Curse was a totally sweet game. I'm guessing this will be too.

9. RIME: Maybe it will be like ICO?

10. Persona 5: Please have real dungeons this time.

1. Uncharted 4 : The Uncharted series is my favorite IP of last gen and everything I've seen of A Thief's End makes me hopeful Druckley will finally top Uncharted 2.

2. Rise of the Tomb Raider : I'm in the camp that loved the reboot. In my opinion it actually surpasses Uncharted 1 and 3. I'll just need to get an Xbox again before it releases..

3. Metal Gear Solid V : Ground Zeroes is one of the most fun games I've played all year, and Phantom Pain will surpass it in every way possible I'm sure.

4. The Witcher 3 : Witcher 2 is my favorite 360 game of all time, so of course I'm looking forward to playing the next one.

5. The Legend of Zelda : This game looks to be taking Zelda in the direction I've hoped for since Twilight Princess. Big open worlds, doing things in any order, etc.. it all looks great.

6. The Order 1886 : I'm a sucker for tight cinematic games and the graphics are beautiful.

7. Tales of Zestiria : The Tales series in one of my favorites in gaming. I may not like the direction they've taken since Vesperia, but this looks like a return to form.

8. Final Fantasy VII : My favorite game of all time on PS4 with trophies and cleaner IQ.
I'm a bad person.

No Man's Sky is the game I can't stop thinking about, which is why I put it as #1. Exploration, when done right in games, is what separates it from all other mediums. NMS seems like it can deliver on that promise like no other game next year.

1. Halo 5 : I cant wait to continue the fight for humanity. Plus I've got to save Cortana - my ride or die chick.

2. The Division : I love the exploration and teamwork aspect and the graphics looked amazing. No more TDM to unlock scopes. COD is dead. Objective based MMO shooters are the future.

3. Rainbow 6 Siege : Return of the king. Squad based combat where every life counts. I've been camping in this bathroom with my C4 planted for 3 minutes. Is that guy going to run down this hall or what?

4. The Witcher : Love all the storytelling concepts and the action seems top notch.

5. Bloodborne : I think the game looks great and I'm looking forward to giving this a run. I enjoy crushing bad guys with extreme prejudice and it seems that there will be a steady supply of this here.

6. Mighty No. 9 : Is it wrong to want to play a Mega Man game again even if it's not a Mega Man game?

7. Uncharted 4 : I haven't played since Uncharted 1 so I'm not up on the story, but this will be bought immediately. I hope it will deliver a compelling story and that the action is serviceable.

8. Fable Legends : Unlike many here I think this game has promise. I'm looking forward to what they can muster in this new gen.

9. Quantum Break : Can't wait to live the story Remedy set out for us to experience. Hopefully the live action piece is legit.

10. Forza 6 : Here's to hoping we get weather, some great fantasy tracks, and a better menu system.

Honorable Mentions:

Persona 5 : I love all games and am excited to give this one a run.
The Order: 1886 : I think this will be a compelling title. I'll cinematically widescreen my ass through this game if the story brings it.

1. Zelda (Wii U): Game looks amazing, and its Zelda, so easy top pick for me. The recent demo showing off the scale of the game gets me damn excited.

2. Xenoblade Chronicless X (Wii U): Every time I see this game I wish it was already here. I loved Xenoblade, and this looks like an amazing successor to the original. Another game with an impressive scale, and what we have seen of the world looks really good.

3. Splatoon (Wii U): Looks really really good, love the ink swimming mechanics and the idea of territory control as the objective instead of TDM. A shooter from Nintendo has always been something I wanted to see, and it already looks like a blast to play.

4. Majora's Mask Remake (3DS): Tied with Skyward Sword as my fave 3D Zelda game and its getting a remake on the 3DS? Sign me up!

5. Overwatch (PC): A non military FPS with a variety of classes, awesome weaponry, and a focus on team objective gameplay that gives me some strong Team Fortress 2 vibes. Add on to that, the quality blizzard puts in their games and its going to be an awesome ride.

6. Monster Hunter 4 (3DS): I love monster hunter, and MH4 looks to deliver the game I love to play with some new mechanics (RIP swim battles :( ). Unless we get a surprise Wii U port (do it capcom!) I am more than happy to get it on 3DS.

7. Starfox (Wii U): Been way too long since we have seen an entry in the series and seeing it in HD will be pretty awesome. Give us classic 64 starfox like action and I am a happy guy Nintendo.

8. Unreal Tournament 4 (PC): IMO the king of the arena shooter. Very excited for a new iteration after the very disappointing UT3. Really interested in the F2P open approach Epic is taking with this game, and allowing the community to charge for custom content.

9. Kirby and the Rainbow Curse (Wii U): Loved the DS game so I am really stoked for this one. The clay art style looks really awesome.

10. Yoshi's Wooly World (Wii U): You just can't hate Yoshi (unless you're a monster) and putting him in a yarn art style looks pretty neat. Gameplay is already looking solid.

2. Uncharted 4: I love the uncharted series.
3. MGS V: I love the MGS series.
4. Persona 5: Big fan of persona, looks like I'll be loosing another hundred or so hours to this game. Goodbye real world.
5. Zelda U: Not a real big fan of most Nintendo games, but I have a soft spot in my heart for Zelda and this game looks amazing.
6. Scalebound: Platinum.
7. The Witcher 3: This game looks great and I love the book series, so it's a win win.
8. No Mans Sky: Please meet my expectations, but I'll still love you if you don't.
9. The Order 1886: I think this game has a ton of potential, so I really hope they hit it home and give the PS4 a great game.
10. Star Wars Battlefront: I love battlefront so this choice is a no brainier, lower down on the list because lack of single player.

1. Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number: Hotline Miami had intense action, beautiful art, and one of the best OSTs ever. HM2 is looking to be that and more, on a larger scale. Goddamn right I'm hyped for this game.

2. Ghost Song: Atmospheric environments, fantastic artstyle, and what looks to be deep mystery add up in this Metroidvania platformer. Looks very promising, to say the least.

That time of the year, indeed. After some effort, I managed to come up with a selection of 10 games. I might edit and format a bit later. For now, I'll just post the list and some short explanations. Numbers 1 through 7 are definite buys for me, the other 3 I'm currently genuinely interested in, but would like just a little more information on to sell me on them.

1) The Legend of Zelda (Wii U, TBA 2015) :

Ish6nntkdak3pdvq7i3v.jpg

What can I say? Maybe I was being overly optimistic when I included this one among last year's picks, but it stands unchanged at the top of my most wanted list.

2) Uncharted 4: A Thief's End (PS4, TBA 2015) :

This was always going to be the game I buy a PS4 for. I bought a PS3 for Uncharted 2 and loved the PS3 trilogy. On top of that, any doubts I might have had evaporated after the demo at PSX.

3) The Witcher III: Wild Hunt (PC, May 19th 2015) :

The second one of my most anticipated that somehow slipped into 2015. I loved the first two, had a blast reading the books, and no downgrade or delay could keep me from buying the game at this point.

4) Yoshi's Wooly World (Wii U, Spring 2015) :

I know Yoshi isn't everyone's favourite character, but I like the egg shooting mechanic. Add to that the absolutely gorgeous evolution of the yarn aesthetic, and you've got yourself pure platforming bliss.

5) Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker (Wii U, January 2nd 2015) :

Although it just barely counts as a 2015 title in Europe, this little platform puzzler is sure to keep me occupied come the new year. What little we saw of Captain Toad's escapades courtesy of 3D World left me craving for more, and I can't wait to explore all its levels.

6) Kirby and the Rainbow Curse (Wii U, Q3/Q4 2015) :

I never got around to playing Canvas Curse when it was first released, but from what I've seen so far, I don't feel like I need to for me to appreciate just how great this one is going to be.

7) The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D (3DS, Q1/Q2 2015) :

We all saw it coming, but when it finally did happen, I was giddy with excitement. I don't play Majora nearly as often as Ocarina (maybe because it feels like a more daunting task), but when I do, I rarely find the time to regret my decision. Still, this is "only" a remake, earning it a slightly lower spot on my list.

8) Splatoon (Wii U, Q2 2015) :

This one I think nobody anticipated. An intriguing concept, a whole lot of potential, but also many more questions. I played a demo of the multiplayer (which I enjoyed) at Gamescom this summer and the single player trailer is giving me a lot of hope, but right now I'm still a little on the fence over this one.

9) Star Wars: Battlefront (PC, TBA 2015) :

At this point, all we really have to go on is a short teaser. That said, I've played way too much Battlefront II not to be looking forward to the next entry, even if there's no guarantee the people at DICE can get it right.

10) Persona 5 (PS4, TBA 2015) :

To be completely honest, I've never had a chance to play any Persona game (although I've messed around with the odd SMT), but I am a huge sucker for RPGs, and not exactly opposed to JRPGs, either. Since I'm getting a PS4 for Uncharted, anyway, I might as well pick this one up, too. After all, how could so many GAFers possibly be wrong?

1. Superhot : One of the most unique gameplay concepts I've experienced in a while.
2. Amplitude : I never played the original Frequency or Amplitude, but I loved Rock Band Blitz.
3. Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell : Saints Row is always a fun time. It's your periodic reminder that video games should be fun.
4. Volume : I loved Thomas Was Alone, and I'm really looking forward to something new from Mike Bithell.
5. Everybody's Gone to the Rapture : I honestly don't know much about this game, and that's what I like so much about it. The atmosphere is enthralling.
6. Axiom Verge : Seems like a lovingly crafted take on Metroid / Super Metroid. We could use more of those type of games.
7. Mighty No. 9 : Some of the recent crowdfunding stuff with this game worries me, but it seems like it will be executed well from a gameplay standpoint at least.
8. Battleborn : Several devs have tried (and are trying) to tackle this genre mashup. If anyone can pull it off, it's Gearbox.
9. The Witness : I've been intrigued by this game since it was announced. I didn't like Braid all that much, but I really appreciate the craft Jonathan Blow puts into his games.
10. Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number : I hope it's more than just more Hotline Miami.

1. Uncharted 4 - The new footage made me into a believer. I'd pre-order it if it had an actual date.

2. Witcher 3 - Lots of delays make me wonder if that stuff we heard a while back was true, but on the bright side if so they do seem to be willing to actually make the game live up to their promises.

3. Xenoblade Chronicles X - A sci-fi J-RPG with mechs. The only thing keeping it from being #1 is the MMO-like battle system and the weird facial designs.

4. Batman - Arkham Knight - Game looks absolutely gorgeous, and I finally get to play with the freaking Batmobile. Would be even higher up if I knew Nightwing and Robin were in it.

5. The Order: 1886 - King Arthur references. Glorious steampunk setting, beautiful graphics. I'm super curious to see what the folks at RAD can bring to the table.

6. Star Fox U - Love Star Fox, I'm just concerned about what they intend to do with him this time around. They've been pretty vague.

7. Yakuza 5 - Alright, I'm finally a believer. The other Yakuza game (Yakuza 0) I saw looked pretty sweet, so I'm interested in this one too.

8. Banner Saga 2 - Loved the first one, so I can't wait to participate in the next chapter.

9. Legend of Zelda - Tentative placement until I see how much this game offers in terms of world design and whatnot. Could go higher, could drop off the list entirely.

10. The Division - Low on the list because I don't believe it'll hit next year. We'll see.

1. Zelda U: It's looking like the kind of Zelda that I used to only imagine. So happy to see that becoming a reality.

2. Bloodborne: It's a new IP branching off from the Souls series. Enough said.

3. No Man's Sky: The potential here is huge. Here is to hoping it lives up to even half of it.

4. Splatoon: One of the freshest looking shooters I can recall seeing. Not to mention quirky and full of personality.

5. Metal Gear Solid 5: Everything about it looks phenomenal. GOTY contender for sure.

6. The Witcher 3: I felt 2 was held back by not being open world. I wanted room to breathe and a world to take in. It's looking like they have more than addressed that for me.

7. Xenoblade Chronicles X: Gorgeous open world, beautiful music, a fun battle system, mechs and giant beasts to slay. What's not to love?

8. Rise of the Tomb Raider: I loved the first one and am expecting this to build on that great potential even further.

9. Quantum Break: It's Remedy and what we have seen looks stellar.

10. Uncharted 4: It looks more open, it's even prettier and the animations are drool-worthy. I am very excited for Uncharted again.

6. Batman Arkham Knight. It has the Batmobile.

7. Starfox. Its been a while since weve seen a good Starfox game but in Miyamoto we trust.

8. MGSV. I have been off the series since 2 and 3 which I did not enjoy but the footage of this has drawn me in. I just hope it doesnt have an over convoluted plot.

9. Xenoblade X. Never played Chronicles and only reason this isnt higher is that this is a potential time sink which means as a father of 2 young kids, its unlikely ill go far in the game.

10. Majoras Mask 3ds. Never played the first on my n64 for some reason, so pretty excited for this to be the appetiser to the main corse that is ZeldaU.

I'll get a PS4 for Persona 5, or I'll play it on PS3 if it's not that big of a difference.

1. Final Fantasy XV
I really miss the magic of old FF games (up to FFX), I hope what was gone since then will come back finally. Don't make the lore and characters too complicated, just keep everything simple with memorable characters and warm-hearted story is enough (like FF6 & 9).

2. No Man's Sky
I didn't follow a lot of the game but from what I have seen this is the most interesting new IP I have seen.

3. Yokai Watch
I loved Pokemon but it has become a very repetitive and uninteresting grind-fest. I still play and finish every Pokemon main-game up until now but I am ready for something new. This is the most promising new IP that will replace Pokemon for me.

4. Silent Hill
Same as Final Fantasy, I really hope one of my favorite franchise ever will come back and wow me again.

5. The Legend of Zelda for Wii U
While I have played all of them, I have not finished any console Zelda since Wind Waker. They have became too drag and long and boring. I have beaten all handheld Zelda though as they have the simplicity of the Zelda games I love back in the days.

6. Persona 5
It's Persona. Gonna have to play it. The only RPG nowadays with modern interesting world.

7. Mario Maker
Never into LittleBigPlanet. Hope Nintendo gets it right. I feel it will be the side stuffs and mini games that will push this game to the top (like fly swatter in Mario Paint, NES collection in Animal Crossing etc).

8. Kirby and the Rainbow Curse
Canvas Curse is my favorite NDS game of all time and one of my favourite games ever. I think that was the first game ever to prove touch-screen gameplay works.

9. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
Not a big MGS fan, but every MGS game is a big event that must be played.

10. Street Fighter V
I adore SFIV and can't wait to play this. But need to see more before my hype goes up.

Others:
Splatoon
The Witcher 3
Majora's Mask 3DS
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

5. No Man's Sky

#1 because the world looked incredible in the last trailer and there isn't a single Zelda game that I dislike (haven't played the DS ones though!).
#2 because I loved Star Fox 64 but for some reason never bought any of the sequels. I hope it's of similar quality.
#3 because it has been a long time since I last played a jRPG.
#4 because it's damn Majora's Mask. One of my favourite games. I do not own a 3DS but if they release the n3DS I may consider it.
#5 because it looks super interesting. Depending on how it's received I may buy it.

Honorable mentions:
- Yoshi's Wooly World: I loved Yoshi's Island as a kid and didn't play one of the sequels.
- Mario Maker: Lots of potential if the online sharing is good. Probably won't bother to create stages, but at the very least it's a game I'll be looking at.
- Metal Gear Solid V: Don't own a PS4/XB1, but I like the Metal Gear series.
- The Great Ace Attorney: I didn't put it above because I'm not sure it'll be released in the west. I love the AA series.
- Splatoon: Idea looks fun but my interest will depend on the Single Player content.

I'm going on stuff that has been confirmed for release in 2015. Either it has a release date, or the dev/publisher specifically said 2015 is the release period.

1. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I've been an avid MGS fan since 2001, but slightly fell off the bandwagon with 4. The Legacy Collection last year rekindled my love for the series and I am more excited than ever for V. Everything about it, from the story, to the gameplay, has me foaming at the mouth.

2. Persona 5

I'm kind of pissed about Catherine. A lot of people sing its praises, but the idea that it's the only official 7th gen game by the Persona team bothers me a lot. Last gen - we didn't get a single RPG from Atlus, which is so weird considering the mammoth support the PS2 got. Even the 3DS is getting some decent titles from Atlus, with SMTIV being one of the best handheld RPGs of all time. However, I can't wait for Persona 5 - rumored to run on an engine designed from the ground up, and nods towards a darker tone than Persona 4's. There are still many questions to be answered, but one thing's for sure, it's one of my most anticipated games.

3. Bloodborne

I'm a bit late to the Dark Souls party. Well, no I'm not. I played my friend's copy of Demon's Souls when it came out and I actually got Dark Souls at launch. But I never really dug into the series until this past fall when I ran through Dark Souls for the first time ever from start to finish. It took me 2 months, but I totally understand why this series gets the same hype. With Miyazaki back at the helm, I'm stoked for Bloodborne beyond words. Bring it.

4. Zelda Wii U

Skyward Sword made me sick to look at. It was everything that Zelda shouldn't be. It had no exploration, had the audacity to force collectathons, and eschewed the tight combat we all knew and loved about Zelda for waggly bullshit that didn't work a third of the time. I gave up on Zelda after that, and begrudgingly fell in love with it again after A Link Between Worlds. The footage from last weekend truly makes me believe that Aonuma's team finally gets it - we want a more open Zelda with the tight combat we know and love from the series. Fingers crossed.

5. Xenoblade Chronicles X

Tetsuya Takahashi is an old school RPG master craftsman who ALSO innovates on each iteration of the Xeno series. I'll take anything he throws at me.

6. The Witcher 3

This will be my first Witcher game, but this one sure looks incredible.

7. Star Fox U

All the info surrounding this game makes me believe this will finally be a return to form for the series. Can't wait.

8. Uncharted 4

Looking great. Combat seems more refined as well which is very nice to see.

9. The Order 1886

I have my reservations, but everything looks promising so far. If we'e getting ANOTHER TPS, it's nice to see some fresh weapons, scenarios, etc.

10. Hyper Light Drifter

I'd be more excited for this game if I got to actually see more of it, but people keep referencing A Link To the Past, so my interest is pretty high. It doesn't seem like anything's procedural or randomized like so many indies these days - I'm hoping for well-crafted dungeons and boss fights, etc. Everything looks so promising, but we'll see.

Honorable mentions:

Final Fantasy Type 0: HD - Hey this counts. It's NEVER been officially released in the US before.
Yoshi's Wooly World - This looks like a legitimate Yoshi game and not some bullshit from Artoon/Arzest. Fingers crossed.
Mighty No 9. - Megaman and Megaman X are series that I hold dearly. Nice to see Inafune continuing the spirit of those series with Inti Creates.
Bravely Second - There isn't a confirmed US release period for this game yet, so that's why I'm only mentioning it honorably. Can't wait though.
