Good games.

It wasn't much fun for me when half of the time I was doing input errors or can't air dodge properly cause my fingers are numb.

Any solution you guys have for cold hands? It sometimes happens when playing on other handhelds/consoles, but it regularly happens when I'm playing on the Wii U.

Not a whole lot to really do about it. If you can't turn heat up in your environment, try to sit on your hands or retract them into your shirt during down time. Keep your hands in contact with your lap or stomach while you hold the controller. *shrug*

I tried to play in a tournament outdoors the (nearly) winter evening when Smash Wii U launch. No way to play well in that circumstance. But hey, no Johns... ~.~

Useful for not having to dodge, negate a projectile that would have done big damage and keep your momentum going while taking no damage at all.
I feel like perfect shielding or hopping over the projectile and using Fire Breath will be superior on every occasion, and earlier to do consistently. I'm glad to be proven wrong.

Haha, wow. I was just in For Glory and was Lucina. I get matched against another Lucina, and we have the same costume (default). They immediately run off the ledge and die because they thought they were me xD They then quit when I up-threw them for the kill.

Get Inside Her!
Sorry if this was already mentioned, but I noticed some of the small secret enhancements that came along with the latest patch. It resolved my biggest annoyance with Amiibos, which was having to hit A to dismiss the dialog after saving one, and being booted back out to the main menus. Now once you save an Amiibo after editing it, it says "remove the Amiibo from the GamePad" in a dialog that dismisses by itself, and then just reloads the "okay scan an Amiibo now" screen instead of kicking you out entirely. So much easier to check prizes and re-save all Amiibo after a match with a lot of them!

I think it's good Sport to also kill yourself when that happens so you can have an even match.

I don't even care about it. It was actually hilarious in my matches against Cronox, because I would stand near the ledge and let his side-B-happy self grab me, and I would direct it off the edge. :-D

Bowser not having any way to ledge snap while facing away from the ledge is a far, far, far bigger issue than the Bowsercide gimmick. It actually harms his competitive viability. Give me ledge snapping, and I can beat anyone with enough practice, I feel.

I can't help that it's a satisfying move to do :( But yes, not a great move to use while you're down a stock.

It does suck about the ledge snap, as I've been trying to do more offstage gimping lately I've gotten punished many times because Bowser basically stays in a harmless "hit me" ball for 2-3 seconds longer than he should if he'd snapped to the ledge. And side-b'ing before coming back to the stage is a band-aid solution at best... a side-b takes long enough to run the risk of gimping your own recovery for a ledge snap. Best solution I've got is to jump backwards off the stage and try for a bair/nair instead of fair.

Even when stocks are even, if it's your side B, I win! ;-)

Good idea about jumping backwards when trying to gimp. I am going to start doing that, because it is necessary.

I was daydreaming today and was thinking about how they'll show off Mewtwo

So the video...
It starts off, Pokemon Stadium from Melee is playing, the scene opens to that random desert that was in the other videos.
Kyrogre and Palkia are duking it out, firing water and lasers and stuff, then it flies past them and Giratina is going after Kyurem. The camera slowly pans up to a wide shot, the clouds are roaring with thunder. In the midst of the chaos, two purple eyes suddenly appear in the clouds, and a giant shadow ball comes flying out, blasting back all the giant legendaries. While those giants lay in pain as the dust settles, Mewtwo lands down on the battlefield... sort of, he's actually floating
"MEWTWO TELEPORTS IN"
Cue gameplay montage, he's basically Mewtwo from Melee with better animations and Mega Mewtwo Y as a final smash that does nothing but use Lucario's old Final Smash, sped up with more control, and just with a minor visual transformation (Called Psystrike).
When that's over Mewtwo is evil laughing to himself because he's Mewtwo. Suddenly, BOOM, lighting strikes him by surprise. He flies back in pain, sliding on the ground, all burned and stuff. He glances up in pain as the dust settles.
We see sparks flying and lighting everywhere.
There's Pichu, playing with Plusle and Minun, all happy completely oblivious to what was going on previously.
"PICHU... SCURRIES INTO BATTLE?"

Cue epic montage of Pichu being all cool and stuff. He's got a new thunder. It doesn't hit him, it targets a random person in front or behind him and locks on to them. But he can whiff it, he only takes self damage if it whiffs and shocks him instead. It's also super fast compared to Pikachu's, but weaker. He neutral special is Pikachu's thundershock custom, he covers himself in static, which discharges. His up special, Agility, is the same as Melee, but can jump three times (with slightly less distance), for more control than Pikachu. Still does no damage. He has an all new side special (as Pichu can't learn Skull Bash), Fake Tears. He starts wiggling around, crying, and lets out some tears. They cause tripping if they hit (Diddy style), but if they're used too often before they can cool down, the enemy isn't fooled by them anymore (until some time passes).

His self hurt mechanic is still present (it is his main gimmick after all), but toned down (only his non-side specials and a couple standard attacks cause a smidge of damage), and he makes up for it with his crazy good speed and really small hitbox. This isn't your grandpa's joke character. He has a unique innate ability. When he crouches, he slowly recovers HP as he sleeps. This is to compensate for the self damage. His standard attacks have been declones a lot, now mostly relying on things like Charm (his up ground has him jump up with hearts that fly out and do damage). His jab is actually a quick couple claps, using Encore. Pitiful range, but do good shield damage. His up Smash is still his headbutt from Melee. His forward Smash uses his Melee animation, so it's different from Pikachu. A lot of his moves mostly have him flopping about helplessly.
Taunts
- One where he nods off slightly, only to jump awake quickly.
- His Melee taunts, both directions
- One where his sits down and plays with his tail, letting out some sparks that surprise him and make his eyes tear up (Pokedex entry reference!)
He has all 3 of his alt colors from Melee, except his red skin turns him shiny, while the blue one gives him a notched ear. The other 4 colors are 2 colors of Plusle (normal and shiny) and two of Minun (also normal and shiny). Full on alt character style, bringing back the Brawl cut characters here in pretty much their only hope for being added lol.

4.99 Pokemon Melee Pack, comes with Pichu, Mewtwo and Pokefloats. Already own Mewtwo? Get the entire pack half off (what a deal!). For those who buy it within the first 4 months, you also get a Shiny Color Pokemon Pack, that adds 4 new colors, Shiny Charizard, Shiny Greninja, Shiny Jigglypuff and Shiny Lucario and adds a bonus Red Gyarados trophy to the game as a random trophy drop. After 4 months this pack is 49 cents.

I was bored and have too much imagination lol.
I wish this were real though, I think Pichu/Plusle/Minun could work as non-joke semi-clone characters and it would be nice to see the alt-character system better used and see Plusle and Minun actually get their chance to beat up Sonic, who robbed them.

Poor Roy, that leaves him and Ice Climbers in Melee Cuts land, if IC even count as a Melee cut

Depends on the stage, actually. Most of the standard tourney stages (the animal crossing ones, for example) it ends on a draw. Whenever it happens in for glory and we end up in sudden death, I just remember that in a tournament it would count as my win. And if I was a stock down and my opponent steered me off, I'd lean over to the guy and say "you just remember who was on top."

Lol what a horrible way to end the match.

Still, fun fights, good ness it's hard to get to you, you have good defense and spacing,

GGs, I'm really uncomfortable against Samus, as you can probably tell. Pretty good matches against your secondary (tertiary?) characters, though.
Samus is gonna be a hard fight because she'll out space you. So you're gonna have to change your whole fighting style. I'll stick with samus more when we play again so you can practice

My hands usually get sweaty if anything. I keep my apt warm. Try to keep yourself warm? Maybe wear pajama pants and a long sleeve shirt like a hoodie.

Also, blood thinning agents like alcohol and ibuprofen can increase blood flow to the extremities.

Yeah, I have similar issues with Link. I'd definitely like to work on those matchups some time. Thanks.

Anyone down to play?

Edit: maybe we can play king of the hill. We watch two players Duke it out and the winner goes against the next person and so on

1 EMB Sheik vs Link
2 EMB Sheik vs Link
3 EMB Sheik vs Sonic
4 EMB Sheik vs Sonic
5 EMB Sheik vs Falco

Congrats!

I updated the google doc. Looks like I have the worst record in the bracket (Maybe even the whole tournament?) with 0-6 :p

I'm sure you're not all bad, you just got put in a really tough bracket. I mean like half the guys there are GAF high rank, you know what I mean?

Also I see a Falco there, do I have a bird brother? :D

I don't main Falco, but I did in Brawl. He's much too laggy now. I jump and do a fair or dair and BOOM I'm stuck on the ground for like half a second :(

Match 2 was ridiculous. You KO'd me before I even did you any damage! Great job!
A few lucky tech or roll reads will do that. :) Thanks though!

Both the Sonic matches were really close. I feel like you maybe panicked a bit and rolled more than you wanted to. Without that I feel like you would have taken those.
