I hope we see more cool character select screens this generation. The MKX idea where the characters walk up, interact, and then separate is pretty dope. The text and characters frames are almost too clean and plain for my tastes, but it keeps the focus on what the characters are doing.

Smash 64 still has the GOAT character select. Why they haven't brought back characters doing little in character hype animations is beyond me.

For those who actually play Tekken though, she's a much better design than most of what you'll see online thanks to the stupid customization, anyone who care enough about horrible looking characters to the point where he avoid the game because of them probably stopped playing Tekken online/at arcades around 2008.

Always wondered why the Real Bout series never got more popular then- it has some dial-a-combo as well, and a really cool roster and story.

If I got the choice to remake one fighting game and move its gameplay to modern standards, Real Bout 1 would be my choice. I'd keep the ring outs.

what do you think about the hori sticks compared to Madcatz sticks? I kinda bit the bullet and got this stick as to try something new ( Im coming from the MC SFIV TE stick)

kuro buttons aren't very good, but I've been too lazy to change them out. I like the hyabusa stick but it will feel different than the typical JLF that sanwa makes/madcatz uses for their TEs. Otherwise it's a nice stick. Works on pc as well.

yeah man the only thing turning me off that game besides exclusivity is the combo system...if it had a traditional magic series system or something i would be so interested. the characters design seems super interesting rivaling even the specificity of skullgirls or arcsys games

The up close game is similar. Normals are slow compared to a 2D fighter and the game has the turn based "I did my move, I'm now -5 and it's your turn" feel to it.
