Say a sequel got greenlit and RAD took into account all of the gameplay shortcomings...

Would you guys want them to change the output to 16:9 or keep it the way it is, black bars and all?

Black bars are fine, I actually thought the aspect ratio was good, considering the amount of cutscenes. I didn't notice them during the playthrough at all. I must reiterate that RAD did a wonderful job with the UI, so the visible screen space is sometimes larger than, say in AC.

Personally, I just wish I could kill the film grain and motion blur (and black borders, but still) and I'd be much happier with the visuals.... not that I was complaining anyway.

Yeah, I don't complain. It's just how I feel.

I don't mind motion blur, in fact, I think good motion blur is vital, but the blur caused by post processing bothers me a bit. Sometimes I feel like my eye sight is failing me. ;)

there has got to be DLC to close some elements of the story, i mean, so so many things were left unanswered, i really hope they release some DLC to tie things up until the next game
I would love a DLC wrapping up the conflict with Hastings and Grayson's escape from London and the sequel picking up in America or India with him joining Lakshmi against the East India Company and their half breed shipments. From there I'd love to see more time jumps with each being a self contained story. WWI, the Cold War, etc

Will RaD take all the gameplay criticism into account for the sequel? they haven't even acknowledged it yet....

Actually...

Andrea Pessino, the development studio Ready at Dawn, has revealed that he thought the vote would be right for The Order: 1886.

"... To be honest, I agree with the criticism that move and there are many others that I would move first, elencandoti all the things we wanted to do or improve. The 8 that you give, I think, is the more accurate opinion, "

Hahah come on man... It hasn't even been a week since the game released.
I mean maybe RaD has a different vision than us for the sequel and they'll just follow on the same path?

Actually...

Where is this from?

The game's been out for three days
So? would a tweet by a dev really hurt sales that much?

Is this a Google translate or something? I can't parse what it means.

Maybe... I just meant that it's too early for them to talk about what they could improve/change in a sequel that hasn't even been confirmed yet.

Ready At Dawn, please patch into the game for free:

- Additional mode
- unlocks after completing the game
- revisit the 5+ best combat locations of the game
- fight waves of progressively more powerful enemies (extra health), or just battle to the end of the area
- you can use each of the 4 characters (if possible / easy to implement)
- earn currency to visit Tesla's lab and buy new weapons or upgrade what you have
- upgrade weapon damage, perhaps reload speed, even other behaviors if not too much trouble
- Have each character use a unique perk from the main game (if this parts makes sense)
- Each character has their own weapon unlock/upgrade progression

Keep is simple and quick to test / release. Don't bother with multiplayer because the game engine isn't build for it in any way right now. Just leverage the game engine as it exists now. IMO, this feature should be an easy drop-in to extend the value of the game. If this existed now, I'd say full price would be perfectly justified.

I haven't played the game yet

This game, while technically a marvel, was visually boring to me. The locations are repetitive and nothing really stood out to me. Most of the settings are so dark that it makes it hard to make out certain details. It's certainly not that same feeling when I played Uncharted 1 for the first time.

Still trying to decide if I want to purchase this or not. I can get it cheaper via Gamers Club Unlocked, but the lack of content worries me. I still really want to play it, though. How easy is the platinum trophy to achieve?

Got an idea to fix the enemy variety in the sequel at least

So basically if there ever is a sequel, they should bring the action to australia so they can have more types of ennemies like Half-kangaroobreed, half-possumbreed and half-cassowarybreed.

I guarantee a halfbreed cassowary would be a sight to behold.

I would love this, but, there just aren't enough enemy types for a horde mode. Like, as of right now, they have humans and werewolves. Some of the humans have shotguns.

God damn. That arena fight in the catacombs in chapter either 15 or 16. So good, I played on hard without aim assist, and that fight was some of the most satisfaction I've had from third person combat, took me a good 4 or 5 goes. Then just blazing through the next few rooms with a thermite rifle, so good.

Going by how everything was left at the end. I can imagine Galahad being introduced into another secret Order by the mysterious stranger in the cabin while you're in and out of the coma (a man who I can only assume was am ex-knight). That's just speculation, but what I really, really fucking hope happens in the end of the second game, is Galahad having to kill Lady Igraine. In a similar fashion to what Cole does in the evil ending of Infamous 2. After killing her brother, there's no way she would come to her senses and join Galahads cause with the rebels. I can easily see Lafyette joining though, but from what you've done, Igraine is too far gone.

I finished this game this weekend, and I thought it was a great game. The pacing did seem off in a few situations, but that may have been my interest in getting back into what I felt was fantastic combat.

Since lycan transformations are real time, I'd love to see human enemies that randomly transform.

Imagine a human slowly growing a bill, a beaver taill, brown fair, webbed feet and poison needles behind the elbows while talking with a thick stereotyped aussie accent

"If I have to be honest, I agree with some of the critics you made, and there are many others that I would make first, all of the things we wanted to do and improve. So, the 8 you want to give it seems fair to me."

This in response to the reviewer's "game": I would give it an 8, convince me to give it a 9.

I'm not Italian, I hope I got it close enough.

I read the whole interview and I agree with him.
He seems very genuine in his opinion, so good luck for the next project, I'm pretty sure it will be an amazing game.
They have an impressive graphics engine (right now, The Order is one of the best looking game) and the shooting/movements/etc mechanics are really well done.
So, I'm pretty optimistic for their next game.

Just finished it today and thoroughly enjoyed it. Biggest problem to me would be sitting through the cutscenes again but would be more than happy with replaying the gameplay bits again. I'd give it a 7.5-8 out of 10.

Such a great game! Haters and reviewers can go frack themselves, they know nothing about a great experience.

Absolutely fabulous voice acting. Story was good for an epilogue. Shooting was quite challenging on hard mode. Atmosphere and music were awesome (with headphones on).

No need to speak about the graphics, this is the shit.

The story lagged a bit at times. I can see how ADD kiddies can't keep up with a slow paced story (or movie), they need their pew pew booms. I almost feel bad for them.

It saddens me that most people didn't even give The Order a proper chance. To hell with all the bandwagon kids and their flock mentality. Goddamn sheeps.

I really hope we get a sequel. It can only get better as this epilogue provides solid groundwork. Kind of like Uncharted 1, Mass Effect 1 or Assassin's Creed 1.

8/10

that part was the best part of the game for me.

Took me like 6 tries to clear those waves.

In the end I just used the revolver, carbine and some grenades.

Arc rifle failed me.

Funny, I lost several times and only beat it when I used Arc Rifle, I'm a fan of the Carbine but couldn't deal with the unfair grenade launcher, sometimes the bombs triggered instantly.

Awesome video. Music goes really well. Kinda wish there was more combat scenarios in the game, because for me the gunplay is the games strongest element, aside from the visuals.
Those were my thoughts when I finished the game.

Of course the premise of this game has potential for even better and more varied combat scenarios. But what is there is already enjoyable.

I thought some had Tesla weapons, no? (I have no idea)

Maybe not "horde" mode, just replay of those levels at higher and higher difficulty.

What currently defines the difference between Normal and Hard difficulty? Enemy behaviors? Health? Numbers? Or just the damage you take?

If it is scalable even further, just do that.

Ok, here is an even simpler idea:

- Revisit the 5+ best combat locations
- run a clock
- Give a 1-5 star rating based on speed / damage taken
- allow use of all 4 party members as nothing more than skin swaps
- OR, give each character access to one specific weapon
- would be nice to still incorporate Tesla's lab somehow

I really really want to buy and play this game... but I really really don't want to spend $70 on it in its current form...

After I have seen NX Gamer's tech analysis posted and I have thought I may post his review/impression to.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cy7rV-Z4qOs

He quickly has become one of my most favorite youtuber for gaming. First he does not give scores to his reviews, but instead all the pros and cons and what he thinks defines the game. Furthermore his tech analysis are top notch and his attention to detail his very good.

I really like his review of the Order and recommend watching it.

Absolutely agree, there's just not enough combat which is a travesty imo lol. Feels so good.

And ty for the praise, working on other videos too.

Slower health recovery, enemies are more agressive, the fucker with the grenade launcher sometimes trigger his bombs instantly.

I got to Chapter 10 over the weekend. I suggest putting the game on hard from the start if you are an avid gamer. It's challenging at the big shootouts. After a few hours each night, I don't see where they are getting 5.5 hr playtime from unless the guy ran through on easy(didn't watch the video).

I am having a fun time with this game. This and Ryse got so much undeserved flack.

I give the game an 8/10, also.

YUP

Last night I replayed some of the combat scenarios with different weapons and just messed around. The combat mechanics are shockingly strong from a studio who hasn't made a TPS before.

The stealth is so bad in this game. Just another reason it's so mediocre in my book.

The 2nd stealth area is zero fun.

Just finished it.

Man I'm actually impressed at how much I like this game.

Are anyone else's trophies bugged, though?
I read all newspapers and found all objects (checked them all again with a video) and those 2 trophies didn't pop up :(

I tried that strategy myself, but I couldn't kill those armored fuckers without the arc gun.

Oh, and can anyone tell me why "The Armoury" is grayed out?

Really? Just use the crossbow, there's enough supply in the level to take out all the guards. Once I realized that after 2 failures, this section was actually rather nice.

I must suck at this game compared to others or am just missing something. The shot gunners and the remote dentonator guys are relentless in some fights and will drop you quick. I actually like that as it makes think of new ways to face the encounters, also the other baddies put down suppressive fire very well. Like the first time you fight the remote detonator he shot one right at me and dropped me immediately while behind cover and then a second followed and killed me. And the shot gunners with the repeating shot guns are fierce man. I am actually surprised how well the AI works sometimes. Only major flaw I have seen is they have canned entry that can be exploited. By that I mean they will run into a specific spot to start a fight and during so they don't fire or respond to you. So once you discover their patterns the magic is gone a little, but still very intense fights at times I have found.

I shot the top hat off someone last night and the guy reacted exactly how anyone would. He ducked and put his hand to his head and then exclaimed how close that was. Thought that was an awesome detail.
