You guys are really setting yourselves up for disappointment... remember all the crazy hype before PSX? It's like that all over again.

There will be a Shenmue console game of some sort announced soon. Re-release, VR, Shenmue 3. Either way it's happening. If it's a remake/port hopefully it does well enough for a real Shenmue 3. Shenmue 3 needs to be a VR game though.

No. That was some JRPG thing.

I mean in general. SCE gets a lot of fan requests for Shenmue.

It's time to deliver.

If they do indeed actually happen, I'd be impressed Sony was able to keep Shenmue 3 and TLG under wraps for this long. Xbox is leaking like a watering can, meanwhile.

duke nukem forever came out

ffv13 is now ff15

tlg might resurface this year

outside of these, there's only half life 3 and shenmue 3 that are really always mentioned in those kinds of terms

I know.
I also know that there were alot of restrictions that Boyes and Corsi talked about regarding Shenmue.
And that a new title would be a big risk.

People are just cautious.

I'm fully expecting nothing from this or TLG but I know I will still be so disappointed if neither happen tomorrow. I don't even think I would come here in the week leading up to any major conference anymore. Reading these threads (or hell even seeing the title continually pop up) is just torture.

Always wanted to buy a Dreamcast to play the Shenmue games. Guess I wouldn't have to if they decide to remaster the games.

Wouldn't it make more sense to have a Remaster of 1 + 2 first? Going full-on to Shenmue 3 seems kinda weird after so long if you ask me.

Like everything that people have tweeted Gio, literally we have a person that compiles those lists and prioritizes based on how many requests we've gotten. And I think to date there's well over 10,000 mentions across like forum threads and stuff like that. So those are the ones we're focused on.

OK, why is it impossible for a HD remake to me made? This has been said multiple times.

Why is it impossible for a game to sell? If it can dickride the sheer hype from the net I wouldn't say it impossible to sell a cool mil at a price of $40-50. I imagine many would complain as fuck as many did for <insert a game for the core that was hyped>.

Anyway, I'm not going to hold my breath......if it helps I will. (&#65342;&#969;&#65342;#)


Edit: also screw the Xbox owners of yore! You fucking killed it. Should have been on PS2 so it had a chance!!
I know this isn't the whole story, many reasons why it ended up at MS, but I have to point to feel better.
