My thoughts exactly. If anything Shenmue is shown on an E3 stage, it's gonna be with Mcrosoft. They've got the money and they've really seemingly started focusing on drawing in the hardcore gamer as of late (with rumors of Battletoads/Conker/Banjo/Gears floating around).

I've always maintained we'd see The Last Guardian, Shenmue 3 (whether kickstarted or published by MS or someone else) and an FF7 remake eventually. Good times. Though the FF7 remake may be a little ways off that'll come in time too.

Then again they canceled Phantom Dust because of what, $5 million more? With MS's war chest, you'd think that's pocket change to them but we don't know how much money Xbox gets assigned to.

If Sony gets both The Last Guardian and Shenmue on stage, they have this E3 so much in the bag that the event should be renamed to PSX Summer from now on.

If it does happen I'd still be surprised if it was PlayStation but I suppose it could be similar to what happened with Street Fighter V in that it's only actually happening because Sony was proactive in trying to get it to happen and is offering them technical & financial support during development.

I'm going to be controversial here and say that I'm not particularly a fan of the games and that if it does happen there will be quite a few who are new to the games that are going to be disappointed after all the fuss.

I'm sure I'd buy them anyway.

Aww man, this is nuts. I'm just glad this has all happened the day before the actual event and not two weeks or something. I wouldn't have slept for a very long time if that was the case.
