So, I was invited to a surprise party for this girl I know which is supposed to happen tonight. It's for this girl's 21st birthday. I'm marginally good friends with her and her best friend, so I asked to bring along two friends (not the creepy friends I'm talking about). The birthday girl's friend is throwing the party with the birthday girl's parents, however the friend is taking care of the guest list. The issue I'm having is that I have two other "friends" who only maintain contact to the birthday girl's friend through another mutual friend who lives out of state and myself.

Issue 1: The older of the two is 26, and keep in mind, most people at this party will be 20-22. (I know both the birthday girl and the creepy old dude because of college, and he was already graduated by the time she was a freshmen)
Issue 2: Both are into doing hard illegal drugs at inappropriate places (I'm about 75% sure they will bring something along with them to this party).
Issue 3: Both guys are substantially notorious cock blockers
Issue 4: I'm afraid that anything negative they do will reflect poorly on me, because I know them

My two normal friends and I have already resolved to try and avoid them most of the night, but it's going to be impossible. What do I do GAF?

When you said creepy, I was thinking more along the lines of "Pretending to be drunk, to grab hold of a certain girl and lick her chest" creepy.

Not being 5 years older than everyone else.

Being old = creepy?

When they consistently hit on girls younger than them no matter how disinterested they are, it comes off as more of a negative. I've been asked "why is your creepy old friend hitting on me?"

if your friends can't separate your actions from your friends, they're not really friends to begin with. it's like judging you based on something your brother did.

guilt by association is silly.

most of what you described isn't really 'creepy'.

Yea, doing lines in the bathroom of a girl's house they hardly know during a 20-25 person party without the owners knowledge isn't creepy in the slightest.

They sound like more fun than the rest of the party.

I didn't invite them, the another friend did, however, the only reason they decided to come is because they knew I was going. (They told me this directly)

Corny as hell. Just call her a dumb bitch.

I thought you mean going there in camo or some ish and hiding in the bushes.

That crap isn't creepy. Those girls are just stupid and upstuck.

So... you're doing pre-emptive white knighting so they don't interfere with your game at the party?

I mean honestly, if someone had a big problem with the drugs, they would call the cops. Also, none of this is still "creepy." Creepy involves doing weird shit. Idiots doing drugs or macking on younger chicks, isn't. It's just silly.

My friend would follow my best friend around for 2 hours without saying a word and keeping distance from her before asking her out. Now thats creepy.

Older creep friend has done this before. Also, has asked out girl who was 16 when he was 23.

ITT having graduated from college and still associating with people in college equals "creepy".

I.E. Crashing a girl's party because you know her best friend who is taking care of the guest list because she used to do one of your friends?

We were in the same fraternity and I'm one of the few people who actually feels bad enough for him that I actually spend time with him, but he's still a fucking megacreep. His mannerisms, being resolute to "get girls drunk" so he can sleep with them, etc etc. I tell him to cool it on that stuff all the time and he doesn't listen.

people who do coke do that. in a public bathroom, bathroom of someone else's place, whatever. it's not something i'd do, but i wouldn't say it's 'creepy'.

creepy is the two guys showing up uninvited and videotaping through the windows.

it sounds like you aren't really their friend, so what's the point in even pretending?

IE go take some pamprin, if one person is gonna ruin the party, it's not much of a party to begin with. Jesus christ.

If this is the truth if they do anything terrible (whether creepy or not) it's on the person who invited them, and not on you.

Creepy is someone taking a shit in the middle of the room, not this. And 26 isn't old if you're 20-22.

So, your friends aren't creepy, they're just looking for pussy like you.

I have this one friend who is really eccentric/crazy, but she's also kind of ghetto. I don't usually hang out with her because we're so different (She's in my classes), but I'd say we're slightly more than acquaintances.

Well, if I happen to be going home with her, she has this habit of bitching about people sitting RIGHT in front of us, and getting too excited in public. This is awkward, and makes me kind of awkward. She is really crazy.

Oh, and when I was 16 and in my japanophile phase, a 26 year old anime fan 'befriended' me some of my friends. He suffered from depression, and he had a wife and kid, but spent all his money on anime figurines. He eventually ended up getting evicted because he was spending too much on that crap.

That was kind of traumatising. I have an imprint of him on my mind now, and find myself recoiling from anyone who tries to befriend me who is significantly older than me. Which is extremely stupid and unwarranted, and I'm growing out of that.

First off, as a 27 year old who has had plenty of success with girls in their early 20's, the age thing sounds idiotic to me.

If these "friends" are as obnoxious as you say, then why are you friends with them at all. Just ignore them and say you aren't with them.

There's a difference between having success with girls much younger than you and specifically targeting much younger girls, which he does.

And I'm friends with them for the same reason pretty much everyone I know likes me, I'm very personable to people no matter how much I dislike them. And yes, you can read into that as being "fake" for the sake of other people, which I totally am.

eh, everyone's fake to some degree around other people. It helps us get along with others. The people who are never fake are the ones nobody likes.

I have a friend who cockblocks, its more pathetic that annoying. Ill be having a conversation and he will try to jump in and take over. Even when he's getting ignored by the girl he'll keep at it to the point my conversation is broken up halfway through each sentence. If he wasn't a cool guy in every other way, i'd probably set him ablaze.

Never been to a party where one extremely drunk person you knew made an ass of himself and you had to intervene? Now imagine him coked up.

Blanket party? Phone call to the police? About 900 other ways to deal with this? Come on, man.

I have a friend whom I swear is a secret serial killer. Let's just say I wouldn't be surprised if one day I see his face on the news. Don't get me wrong, he's an absolutely loyal friend who'd jump through rings of fire for all who are close to him. However, he has a real dark side and I think he struggles to feel any sort of emotions at all to those he does not know.
I have a feeling something fucked up happened to him when he was young that he doesn't talk about. Something that totally changed his perception of people in general. He's the kind of guy who could sit and watch a stranger burn to death without thinking twice about it or having any emotional backlash.

I've seen him snap a numerous times where he quietly and calmly almost killed the person who pushed too many of his buttons. Sometimes going WAY overboard considering the offense. Now these people usually deserve to at least get there ass kicked in most situations, but still!!!

The scary part is he's almost killed people without breaking a sweat or showing any emotion what-so-ever. It's like he was just going through the paces of taking someone out quickly and efficiently.

He even had to do some jail time once because of an incident when these 3 guys attacked him. Let's just say he quickly took out 2 of the 3 men without much effort, But the last one he had other plans for and didn't want distractions (This was the one that really pissed him off apparently). My friend basically brought this guy to the ground and repeatidly bashed his head into the pavement until he stopped responding(In the middle of a busy street mind you), . The guy was in a coma for a month. Pretty fucked up, right?

I'm not saying the guy desrved that but keep in mind he was a pretty well known douchebag. A bodybuilding meathead who was always roided up and looking to beat on people to show his "prowess" or some shit. One way or the other, he had it coming. It just so happened that night this meathead fucked with the wrong guy. heh.

:eek!

Anyway. That's my tale of of creepy friends. :)

It's not really uncommon for 26 year olds to hang out with 22 year olds and why should it be? I thought by the time you're halfway or almost done college, the age barrier sorta disappears.
