Goodbye Mr. Iwata we wont forget what you as a person and what you've done for the industry.

You will be missed.

I can't handle this right now.

Some of these articles popping up with him talking about some of his programming feats make me appreciate the man all the more. Got this heavy feeling in my stomach currently, like I'm going to puke.

Think I need to play some Melee or Pokémon.

To celebrate the life of this great person, some of the things he did

He brought us Pokemon Stadium (he just decided to port the code to the N64 with NO reference sheets and showed it to the higher ups)

If it weren't for him fixing Earthbound's really crazy code, the game would have probably been cancelled.

He is the one who compressed Pokemon Gold and Silver so much that they were able to fit Johto and Kanto onto the cart, when the other devs could not figure out how to do it.

He also worked on games like Smash and Kirby.

I am in complete shock right now....like I just casually went to gaming side just a few minutes ago and I see that iwata died? I literally cannot believe it, its so sudden that i thought it was going to be some kind of joke.

Could someone add this to my avatar please?

Damn. I had no idea he was this bad off.

I may be the only person who loved Balloon Fight as much as you did Iwata.

RIP to a great man.

Would someone be able to edit this into my avatar, please? Somewhere around the right-side of the kunai handle or right hand would be best, I think. Thanks.

I still don't really know what to say. There are moments where I start tearing up, and I didn't even know Satoru Iwata, even though it feels like I did.

Here you go:

Iwata made Nintendo feel friendly and welcoming instead of a cold corporation. I always looked forward to seeing him in Nintendo Directs.

I never thought news like this would effect me much, but all those Iwata Asks and Nintendo Directs he did felt like we all got to see who Iwata was like as a person. Kind of felt like we knew him on some personal level.

God, this is so depressing.

Condolences to his family. May you rest in peace, Mr. Iwata. :(

What an utterly unique man as an industry executive. Out of all of the big players, the EAs and Activisions and Microsofts and Square Enixes, Iwata was the man at the top of a titan that most genuinely cared not just about games, and not just about playing games, but about making games. Its not just that he came from a programming background. He was in the business of making games because he genuinely loved the work his company did. That's not something you often get at the very top of the company.
