Archer [Mafia] |OT| Wait, I Had Something For This

Haly

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
If I have to kill someone, it will be for a good reason and a good cause.
It's difficult to swallow this when you tried to kill roy N1 on a, what's basically, a whim.

In all fairness, lynching me is not "zero risk" either. You give the mafia and other unaligned players another night to do whatever they want, while losing a confirmed neutral role that might be of use, e.g. by testing Ezzi's claim.
Seath's been quiet this day actually. As long as he's not being disruptive like he was on day 2 there isn't a need to lynch him, which was the primary motivator. Not the fact that he's Conway or whatever.

It's not like I have a choice anymore.

I'm sorry, but I don't find it very comforting that your reaction to "Hey, there's a guy that admitted to lying about his role" is "He's laying low, so who cares".

It's a matter of priorities. You have, by your own admission, a gun. What does Seath have? I don't want to get tangled up in his mess on Day 3 after it took so much of Day 2 for... pretty much 0 payoff except everyone being suspicious of Seath (which they kind of were anyway)

He's, supposedly, like you. Just playing for funsies and giggles.

Except he can't kill.

Can we refrain from calling one another idiots and random cursing?

Doesn't really add much to the game.

Based Ouro, you agree right?

>:C

TOPOPO! Why wouldn't you saaaaaaaaaaay what your camera found out on N2 if you really did use it on Roy? WHY

just how can you use camera on someone that died and not find any useful information HOW

And if you did find something, why wont you share that information already. I mean I would have supplied it earlier if I had such information. what kind of camera 'looks at' someone and.... not see shit. who killed our royroy? :O did you not take the lens cover off or something :x

cabbeh XD you crack me up all the time <3

Mallory, how can you say you are a man of power when you keep hitting star for pounds :>

I'm actually quite offended, I never actually used the word idiot. I was incredibly careful with direct insult words.

Yeah, I think personally attacking people in such a way is uncalled for. If I ever did that, I apologize, but I usually try to keep my criticism and frustration within reasonable boundaries.

Sorry, I was cleaning some of the blood up with what I thought was a sanitary napkin...actually I think it is a sanitary napkin, but it seems roytheone left a final message:

Well, I guess it is in you guys' (and gal, hello YesNOnoNOYes!) hands now! But please, for the love of god, TAKE BETTER CARE OF OUR POWER ROLES! Oh, and kristoffer, I really hope I will get a chance to play with you in the future! Good luck to everybody, except the KGB scum!

What did you get from the gadget? Does the kill override the gadget (and do you still have it) or did you get something else?

Opposite reaction, tbh. This should've been part of his initial claim. I don't get the point of trickling details over time.

A proper town claim is direct, upfront, gives all details anyone could reasonably ask for and leave no room for guesswork or vagueries. El Topo didn't even give a reason for leaving out roy's supposed target. Not that I want it to be revealed at this juncture but...

When you're town, and you have a role, you internalize that role and reflexively keep track of everything about it. If questioned, you can bring it up instantly. By giving up details only under duress, or when you make a mistake in terminology, the impression is one of improvisation.

Basically, it doesn't feel natural.

If I knew who killed royroy, rest assured it would've been the first thing for me to say, YNNNY.

Well you aren't the most forthcoming person topopo~

But thankie for elaboration and details :)

So next question... Why would you try to use your one-time-use-only gun before you ascertain your target? I don't quite get the thinking here... :3

If I has an assigned target, like the 'Cyborg' ... And my gun is single use, I'd probably wait and see and try to find out more about my fellow players instead of trying to use my gun on N1.

And you were consistently suspicious of Roy on D1 and D2 but you chose the gun instead of the camera first???

This is the very first time he mentioned lipstick as well. His initial claim was:

Gun/Camera/Mascara
Gun=Kill, Camera=Track, Mascara = Block
Gun and mascara are left, YNNNY.

And if I'm going deep into flavor, his role pm would be something like:

You are Cate Fox

You are aligned with no one.

You're on a mission from <blah blah> to eliminate a killer cyborg that's been interfering with <blah blah>'s operations. Your superiors have reason to believe he's infiltrated ISIS, and have sent you to eliminate him. To aid you, you've been given three one-use gadgets: a <Gun?>, a Mascara Stun Gun, and a Lipstick Spy Camera.

Each night you may blah blah blah.

You win when you kill the cyborg.

You see? It doesn't scan. For simplicity's sake I would've given him three distinct options (gun, camera, mascara) which are difficult to mix up. I wouldn't have a "Gun of Killing", a "Mascara Stun Gun" and "Lipstick Spy Camera", and then make the commands: GUN, MASCARA, CAMERA, which is what he seems to have internalized before his mixup.

Either Ouro is very sloppy at writing flavor PMs or Topo's making it up.

I mean it's a very simple test, really.

El Topo: What is the flavor name of your gun?

The gun is called gun. Sorry.

I'm also not sure where you ever got the idea that the commands were CAMERA/MASCARA/GUN, nor do I get how revealing who roy protected is helping town.

The commands are exactly what you think they are: TRACK/BLOCK/KILL.

If this turns out to be real, I'm going to lodge a complaint with Karkador for shitty ass flavor writing.

I think Haly's point is you're making a decision to hide aspects of information following probing. By his logic, if you were town you'd be completely up front, obviously you didn't have to mention the target's name but the fact you knew the target would have been something worth saying up front.

So the gun is just the gun but the camera is lipstick spy camera and the mascara is mascara stun gun?

Seems.... Off.

Perhaps it's my obsessiveness talking, but do you, Ouro, really not see any problem with:

"You have 3 gadgets! One is a normal gun hidden in your panties. One is a stun gun hidden in your mascara. One is a tracking dart gun hidden in your lipstick."

Like, why would you muddy the players' mental framework like that? It's shoddy design. Of course, El Topo's claim only has 2 guns out of 3 gadgets but ideally, each gadget would be conceptually unique.

Yeah, this too. I got sidetracked by the flavor digression but it's still a claim that looks more improvised than internalized.
