Is it just me or is PS4 becoming the go to console for fighting games?

- Injustice
- Guilty Gear games
- Mortal Kombat X
- SFIV & SFV
- KoF XIV
- Dragon Ball Z games & Other Japanese Fighting games

Kinda how the PS3 was too.

Need more 3D fighters though. Hope we get to see a SoulCalibur VI announcement soon. Namco said that they would be shutting down Lost Swords in November (thank goodness), and It's been nearly 4 years since SoulCalibur V released (which is pretty much the longest the series has gone between mainline releases and subsequent announcements), so hopefully they've got some stuff brewing for a proper new release. SCV could almost pass for a current gen game, so an actual current gen SC makes my mouth water.

Tekken 7 news would be welcome too.

And Virtua Fighter 6. I can dream.

If Sony's aiming for March 2017 for GoW4, then it would make sense that they reveal it either in December this year or early next year, like they did with Ascension, by hyping it on Facebook first. Lets see how this pans out. But a year early reveal would be ideal.

KH 2.8 - Summer
Star Ocean V - August
FFXV - Fall (hope for Sept, expecting Nov)
DQ Heroes II - October
Nier - 2nd Half 2017 (no matter how fast people thinks Platinum works, game's still super early
plus i want them to take their sweet time with it because it's such a special project)

Can see that honestly, so thank you for responding to my post :).

I don't think that they're making a PewDiePie controller to sell to everyone. Rather, they may be making custom birthday controllers for special people as a gesture of goodwill sort of thing.

Don't ever EVER buy into Shahid's brand of hype mongering. He always brings the anti-megaton.

Its PGW, which is prob the same thing as Gamescom was in the past. Not many megatons, more indie and smaller digital first party games. And that is on Shahid alley, I am always hyped for stuff like that.

Made a few mistakes judging by you guys comments, so I fixed it up.

January: Witness
Febuary: Gravity Rush Remastered (US/EU), Day of the Tentacle Remastered
March: Uncharted 4
April: Street Fighter 5, Ratchet & Clank, Star Ocean 5
May: Rime, HD Remaster (God of War Assention with God of War 4 Beta?), Neptuina Victory II
June: Dragon Quest Builders, Heavy Ran & Beyond Two Souls Remastered
July: Dreams (Beta or Retail Release), Puppeteer Remastered (?)
August: GT7 Beta, No Mans Sky, Persona 5, Dragon Quest Heroes 2 (?)
September: QD's New IP, Project Setsuna, Gravity Rush 2
October: Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD, Last Guardian
November: Neir 2, Horizon Zero Dawn, Dreams (Retail Release)
December: GT7 (Retail Release), FFXV

Edit: FFXV could be a early 2017 release (Feb/March 2017) as well, Neir 2 could be an summer 2017 release if its pushed back

Edit: Keeping Nier on my list due to Platinum being famous for making games fast (Transformers, Lend of Kora, Metal Gear Rising), so until they announced a delay, will keep the game on my list.

Street Fighter was confirmed to release this fiscal year, so before the end of March.

I also think Horizon will be a late Summer game (September?), they won't throw that game out there with Call of Duty and all the big annual games coming out, November needs a game that can actually compete with the big third party games, so either GT7 or GoW4.

does a game really count if it's not a megaton

doesn't look very good. just dudes running around bad map design while shooting full auto

To each his own. i LOVED the mad design on that game. It came with 22 maps and i can honestly say i loved and enjoyed playing through all of them. SO much better than the 5 generic maps that come with every shooter today.

I love quirky smaller games, and AA games, that is what Shahid usually brings and is associated to. He also talks a lot about VR games, which are exciting. Never said megatons, or triple A stuff, but yeah, Im hyped for the kind of games he talks and signs. Just that

You're taking me a bit too literally with the "megaton" thing. There were plenty of announcements to get excited for at Gamescom last year, and if Shahid teased one of them in some way and presented it then we'd be singing his praises. But he's always a let down in that respect. He treated Football Manager on the Vita like it was a huge get, and he couldn't even hype up Type-0 on the Vita without fucking it all up. That wasn't his fault I know, that's on Square Enix, but he literally announced it was coming to the Vita at one point and then had to correct himself when it turned out the game wasn't getting a Vita port after all. D'oh!

If I read correctly he only said that it will be quite a week.
That's not even a tease.

SMH. Don't be a dick, he's just saying it's going to be a big week, nothing even remotely "hype mongering." He's probably referring to, you know, his job.

That didn't stop the guy I quoted getting excited based on the tweet though. I responded to him, not Shahid.

To his credit, he convinced Dino Dini to bring Kick Off back.

Uh huh.

Look, the guy is harmless, and he seems nice enough. Just don't rely on him to deliver the goods.

I am not familiar with Shahid. Anyone mind filling me in on why he is so lamented?

He often talked about bringing great titles to vita. People thought he meant AAA titles. He just meant great titles that were indie and AA. Now many have proclaimed him a false prophet and false bringer of hype

Street Fighter V always has been "spring 2016", and in recent Capcom IR info mentioned it as game for next fiscal year without being specific. It can be released in April or so too.

Its due to the fact he promised a lot for the Vita and it didn't really work out to well; Typo-0 Announcement Thread was quite a fun time on Gaf E3 2014.

Still, he does a lot with the indie community, so its good that he is still around.

Most are upset because he said Type-0 was coming to Vita. Probably due to SE's own incompetence and it didn't end up happening.

The guy gets excited to a lot of smaller projects and indie titles since his job is to directly work with those people. In the past he's hyped up announcements and when people find out it's not AAA game they get pissed.

But this latest tweet of his isn't even remotely doing anything other than literally saying "it's going to be quite the week". He'll probably be busy as hell.

"Give me 1080p 60fps or give me death". Or something like that.

I see, I see.

It seems to be another instance of assuming something and getting upset when that assumption does not become reality. If his job is centered around smaller tier titles, why would the mind go straight to AAA? People seems to have set themselves up for failure and they are taking it out on Shahid.

The Type-0 situation seems like the only genuine goof on his part.

I get your point, he is a dude that teases a lot, and sometimes people dont really dig the stuff he is heavily teasing. And the Vita Type 0 situation was a fiasco, no doubt there, Its just that I like most of the stuff he signs and talks about, that is why I am excited. And he is in a high positin within SCEE.

But I understand your vision upon his ways and his past acts.

And why don't you EVER ever stop being a jerk about Shahid's genuine excitement over the independent devs he is bringing to PlayStation? After all, he had a major roll of getting hello games to bring No Man's Sky to ps4. He recently signed couple of PSVR games and non PSVR games for ps4. Im curious to see what they are.

I know most of the things he brings to the table aren't everyone's cup of tea. But those games are apparently games that Shahid get gigitty about. And hey, if you want to express your excitement, go ahead. I'm not gonna be a party pooper.

Look the dude has made some blunders in the past, and he knows that. He's trying his best not repeat those mistakes and we should respect that. And we should not be THAT GUY that brings up his irrelevant past blunders over and over and over again.

No, they confirmed that it will release this fiscal year, including sales projections by the end of the fiscal year.

It's safe to say that if they expect 2 million within this fiscal year, it will release early March or late February.

Lol. Look at me. I'm getting involved in another quarrel. I should get back to the main topic.

Anyone here knows any AAA size European game studio with established talent that opened recently? I'd imagine that SCEE Michael Denny would probably get them to partner up on making ps4 games for them.

But Acquiescence was wronged by Shahid because of two posts on twitter. Now we have to hear about this injustice for 4 years.

Clearly this is the proper way to act.

hope we get no GR2 information now to spite Acquiescence :p

Yeah Feb is a safe bet

There was this date but it seems too early imo

Not really the thread for this, but Mark Norris from GG talked about Aloy traversing around in Horizon

“The reality is, a certain size of the world I think demands a mount, right? We take a look at a world like The Witcher, which is an enormous world, we take a look at a world like Skyrim, which is 41 square kilometers, and they’ve added mounts.

We take a look at GTA or Saints Row, those are games that have cars, right? So they have “mounts.”

We’re not ready to talk about the different ways that Aloy moves around the world, but what I can guarantee is, it’s not just walking and running. Certainly, she gets around the world in a couple of different ways.”

I dont know about the AAA size, but its highly possible that Firesprite (ex studio liverpool devs) are working on some PS4 game. They collaborated with Japan Studio on Playroom. I think they are the ones that made the Playroom VR demo actually, but I have to check that.

Maybe its Wipeout VR, which would be awesome.
