1. Bloodborne ; I don't think you can do the Souls formula much better than this.
2. Super Mario Maker ; A super intuitive level editor and jolly Mario vibes.
3. Rocket League ; Easy to pick up, but deceptively deep. It's fun every time.
4. Downwell ; Very simple, but mechanically brilliant.
5. The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes ; A frustrating game because there are some obvious flaws, but when it's good, it's really good.
6. Ori and the Blind Forest ; Tight controls, beautiful visuals and well-balanced challenges.

TW3 doesn't stand a chance, you can make like 10 errors in the title, and Bloodborne is just one word.

I just went to the spreadsheet and copied the title from there. Can't go wrong with that.

I'm guessing the parser is going to be generous. It needs to allow for...

The Witcher III
The Witcher 3
Witcher 3
Witcher III
All various above with : Wild Hunt

Teensy list with a huge wall of shame. I can think of thirty more games that I would have loved to have played this year. Good job, 2015! Oh well, what I got through was good, too.

1. Bloodborne ; By the looks of this thread anything I could possibly say would just be beating a dead horse. Also Bloodborne has some pretty cool dead horses.
2. The Witcher III: Wild Hunt ; Though it certainly took its time.
3. Assassin's Creed Syndicate ; The second Assassin's Creed alongside Black Flag that I've managed to enjoy. I also don't want to play this kind of game ever again.
4. Armello ; Or at least that was the impression I got from the two games I played of this. Go Australian development, I guess?
5. OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood ; PS+ surprise of the year, by which I mean the only PS+ game I actually got around to playing.

Honorable Mentions
x. Fallout 4 ; I really liked it for 25 hours, then got bored. Still, it was worth playing even though it didn't have legs.
x. Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin ; So they made a totally OK game somewhat worse. Dragon Aerie, at least.

1. Fallout 4; Great game,Gameplay is fun and lots and lots of things to explore
2. The Witcher 3 ; Storytelling and sidemissions superb, but the world was not as interesting as in Fallout 4, that's why 2nd place
3. Bloodborne ; Absolutlely stunning experience, great atmosphere, great artdesign, it's just sad that there practically is no story
4. Destiny Taken King; They delivered what anyone had expected for the release of Destiny, why didn't they do this sooner?
5. Just Cause 3 ; Massive Sandbox with completey freedom, it's just fun to try out all the amazing things you can do here, the technical issues are the only bad side of this game

1. Bloodborne ; Great gameplay. Great DLC addition. Best game I've played in years

2. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain ; Also Great gameplay. Despite it's narrative shortcomings it's a fantastic game and was very close to #1 on my list

3. Halo 5 ; Great game. Between all the FPS that came out this fall this is the one that has the best gameplay IMO

4. Ori and the Blind Forest ; Great Metroidvania game. Beautiful Artwork

5. Arkham Knight ; Despite a little bit of a letdown (for me) compared to previous entries - still enjoyed it very much. Nice ending to a great series

6. Assassin's Creed Syndicate ; Best AC game I've played.

7. Uncharted: Nathan Drake Collection ; Best remaster I played all year. Was well-done and IMO these game hold up very well.

8. State of Decay: year One Survival Edition ; Never played this before and loved the concept of base-building, managing survivors morale, permanent deaths of characters, etc.

9. Dying Light ; First 2015 game I played, did a great job with the day/night cycle. Nighttime actually was meaningful in regards to gameplay

10. Star Wars Battlefront ; Must-play for Star Wars fans.

Honorable Mentions:
Hard to put sports games on best of lists, but two games that were done very well this year are Madden 16 and MLB 15.

Are the video url links in my ballot ok? I notice nobody else has used video links in their ballots. Do I need to go back and edit them out?

1. The Witcher III: Wild Hunt ; Best fantasy RPG I've ever played, Really respects the source material.
2. Bloodborne ; Souls game done right, Creepy atmosphere and and actually tells a story in a tangible way.
3. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain ; Unprecedented tactical freedom, polished to a tee
4. Rocket League ; Surprisingly deep game about soccer. Better than FIFA in every conceivable way.
5. Xenoblade Chronicles X ; Fantastic combat, Awesome scope. Impressive that it runs on the Wii U
6. Splatoon ; Shooter for the whole family, Better progression systems than Call of Duty, Free map packs and weapons
7. Super Mario Maker ; A game that relies on User Created Content without being impossible to get in to for the average user. Also Dan Ryckert vs. Patrick Klepek
8. Fallout 4 ; Decent follow up to Fallout 3, Not as good as New Vegas, doesn't really do anything impressive or new, but good none the less.
9. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate ; Fantastic skill based game that took over me and several of my coworkers life for a duration of two months.
10. FAST: Racing Neo ; A really surprising tribute to F-Zero and Wipeout, Runs amazingly on the Wii U and supports 4 player splitscreen action.

1. Halo 5 ; Best Halo and criminally underrated
2. Borderlands the handsome collection ; Me and the wife played this a ton
3. Dirt Rally ; Aint nuttin ta fuck wit
4. Forza 6 ; Best console car racing simulator, now better
5. Idarb ; Got some friends? Get this game.
6. Just Cause 3 ; Simple and effective gaming FUN!!
7. Project Cars ; Amazing 1st effort and totally devoted to the fans.

1. Xenoblade Chronicles X; game of the year, game of all the superlatives, so much gameplays, so much surprises, a big beauty of open-world that makes you angry for exploration
2. Her Story; only on PC and iOS? Come on Sam! Make it come to Vita and WiiU :)
3. Super Mario Maker; a dream made reality
4. Life is Strange; this place should be for Super Time Force ultra :( LiS: this beginning with Syd Matters... Lovely game.
6. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain; kojima swan's song, less metal gear, more solid
7. Splatoon; fun fun fun
8. Homeworld Remastered Collection; makes me want to play on PC again
9. Broken Age: The Complete Adventure; played acts 1 and 2 in one shot. The greatest point&click of this century... not counting remasters.
10. Infinity Runner; I don't know a thing on this game but its title is the nearest one to Infinifactory that I wanted to vote...

1. The Witcher III: Wild Hunt ; One of the best 3D RPGs ever done, great storyline, amazing characters, best side quests of the medium, incredible graphics, and its even better if you are a fan of the books. A MASTERPIECE for the ages.
2. Splatoon ; IMO one of the best multiplayer shooters ive ever played. Excellent character design, easy mechanics but adictive combat. Glad that Nintendo can still make amazing new IPs AND that they sell well.
3. Xenoblade Chronicles X ; Huge RPG with excellent traverse mechanics, need to sink more hours into it but its a great game, I probably liked the original a little bit more though.
4. Until Dawn ; Best game of its kind, takes its medium (slasher movies) with gusto and fun, and the differences between branches are great. Incredible experience with a friend.
5. Pillars of Eternity ; Great WRPG with nostalgic flavour. Super well written characters and quests.
6. Cities: Skylines ; Best spiritual sequel of a murdered series, the amount of love put into it has revitalized the genre. Lets hope it happens the same with next year's Planet Coaster against RCTW (hope? Im sure its going to happen!).
7. Rocket League ; Super fun game, played a lot of it with a friend local against other people online, easy to play but hard to master.
8. Super Mario Maker ; If it would have been a barren year, maybe it would have been more in the top, buts it not, still basically Mario definitive edition. Still waiting on those SMW slopes Nintendo.
9. Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls ; Some people hate it, but I had a GREAT time with it, redeems one of the original characters making it more human, and even if fucked up like the others, I really apreciate the positivity it has in some parts, I think the writters of the series now what they are doing, and dark shitty things all the time is not the way to go, as much as some people think that.
10. Persona 4: Dancing All Night ; Great rhythm game, but maybe the psvita controls take it a little back, also the scratch gameplay aspect is shit. Had fun returning to those characters I loved from P4.

I still need to play more of the indies that were released this year, becuase im sure I would love some of them. I hope I can mend that next year, even I cant vote them, like it happened with Shovel Knight.
BTW Shovel Knight is AMAZING.
EDIT, Wait, I can add shovel knight? Wouldnt be fair by games that released this year though.
Still, will add it in honorable mentions.

Honorable Mentions
x. Shovel Knight ; Best 2D adventure platformer ever, even better than any of the NES original games of the same genre, and Plague Knight's DLC is awesome.
x. Helldivers ; What I can say about this game is that I have a bunch of fun with a friend (like Rocket League). Its super difficult if you dont have good friends though.

I'd add comments but I'm not feeling well at all so if my votes don't count that's cool.

1. Dying Light ; Great in single player and even better in co-op. The only game this year I could not put down and just needed to play it all the time.
2. The Witcher III: Wild Hunt ; Beautiful and emotional with an excellent story and the best side quests of any game ever.
3. Batman: Arkham Knight ; The final part of the Rocksteady Arkham Trilogy provides a good end to this series with stunning visuals and a great Gotham to explore.
4. Resident Evil HD Remaster ; Classic RE is my bread and butter. Creepy, tense atmosphere and the best remake of all time.
5. Resident Evil: Revelations 2 ; A return to form for modern resident Evil set in a great location, good core gameplay and a decent mix of horror and action.
6. Assassins Creed: Syndicate ; The best AC game there is with good side quests and an interesting story in a great location.
7. Bloodborne ; Balls hard but very gratifying
8. Transformers Devastation ; A love letter to the 1980's TV show with great core gameplay and a lovely visual style.
9. Destiny: The Taken King ; Just a damn fine co-op game which ticks a lot of boxes to keep you coming back for more.
10. Rocket League ; One of the best multiplayer games of the generation, gameplay is king above everything else in this game.

1. Bloodborne ; with the DLC it surpassed DaS1 as my favorite Souls-game, magnificient game.
2. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate ; easily the game I spent the most time with this year (400+h), even bought it twice, first the european than the japanese release.
3. Metal Gear Solid V ; lame story, but gameplay is king and MGSV surpasses all of its precessors in that compartment.
4. Monster Hunter X ;more Monster Hunter, gonna hit the 100h mark soon. Only lower than MH4U because G-Rank is missing and graphics/framerate got downgraded a bit
5. Pillars of Eternity ; I played the hell out of Baldurs Gate 2 as a kid, PoE came as close as it gets to it.
6. Fire Emblem: Fates; haven't completed it yet, but it fixes most of the problems I had with FE:A.
7. Witcher 3; hated the combat, the clunky movement and menus, but still put 70 hours into it. Guess that speaks for itself.

Edit: Sorry, wanted to make one post out of those two, but messed up something.

1. Splatoon - One of the most fun, creative shooters I've ever played and probably the most balanced online game ever made.
2. Xenoblade Chronicles X - The most expansive, beautiful, interesting world I've ever seen created in a game. Few games offer a world where I can get lost exploring for hours without me thinking of what mission I have to do next. Pure joy for fans of exploration.
3. Metal Gear 5 - This is the most advanced, fun and polished gameplay the series has ever seen.
4. Rocket League
5. Yoshi's Woolly World
6. NBA 2K16
7. Super Mario Maker
8. Boxboy
9. Code Name: S.T.E.A.M.
10. Pokemon Shuffle

1. The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt ; As a huge fan of both the novels and the previous games, this was pretty much everything I could have wanted from this game. I am still exploring the world so many months later and can't wait for the next expansion to return again.
2. The Witcher 3 Hearts of Stone ; More of the best game of the year with a more focused short story approach with amazing writing.
3. Final Fantasy 14 Heavensward ; Had a blast going back to this MMO and playing through all the new content.
4. Pillars of Eternity ; Backed this on Kickstarter and it was exactly what I wanted. Would have been my GOTY last year for sure.
5. Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes ; Best co-op game of the year. Tons of fun.
6. Grim Fandango Remastered ; Still one of the best adventure games ever.
7. Hand of Fate ; This was great surprise. Very inventive game that was easy to play in quick sessions.
8. Saints Row Gat Out of Hell ; I know people felt it was a cheap cash in, but I loved the flying in this one. I think I 100%'d this. Always down for more Saints Row.
9. Life is Strange ; I was hooked from the start. Fantastic episodic game.
10. Armello ; Had never heard of this before, saw it at PAX and picked it up on release. Loved how it feels like a board game while still being a video game at the same time.

1. Life Is Strange ; I gave Life Is Strange a chance because of the very positive word of mouth that surrounded the series around episode 3 and, to my surprise, it delivered what is probably the most engaging narrative-driven game I've ever played. Engrossing atmosphere, fantastic soundtrack, exceptional characterization, lots of intrigue, memorable characters, sublime world-building and a decent story that actually tackles very mature themes. I also loved the David Lynch influence in the setting. Everything about Life is Strange just oozes craftsmanship, this is probably why I enjoyed it so much.

Biggest surprise of the year for me and better than anything Telltale has come up with.

2. The Talos Principle ; The most engaging game in the genre since Portal.

3. Ori and the Blind Forest ; Metroidvania at its finest.

4. Axiom Verge ; I love Metroid and this is the best Metroid game since Zero Mission.

5. Pillars of Eternity ; Great throwback to old-school cRPGs, with decent combat, good characters, quality writing and strong world-building. It's almost on par with the classics of the genre IMO.

6. Titan Souls ; It certainly has its flaws, but I loved the challenge and the influence from Shadow of the Colossus.

1.Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain; Even with all its issues I am still playing this with over 200 hrs in. It's some of the funnest gameplay ever and for all its flaws I did not hate the story or the balance of it just the fact it was not complete. Yes all the issues do exsist but it still manages to be the best game I have played this year, without the issues it would probably be my goat.
2.Life Is Strange; great story, nice gameplay features where it may be story/discussion choice based but except a few instances I felt like I had true agency, plus the time mechanic made me feel even more in charge of my choices making both success and failure fall in my lap.
3.Bloodborne; I love souls and horror is my favorite genre, plus the sped up play is a plus for variety, a no brainer for me.
4.Undertale; Finally a game that puts its money where it's mouth is in the debate about how to have conflict without always resorting to violence both in gameplay mechanics but in the story both in a narrative and meta sense, I feel it will be important to videogames as a whole moving forward.
5. Yakuza 5; hoping this is eligible for its western release, it's everything I love about Yakuza but better with more.

That's all, I played a lot of backlog this year and nothing else I played new no matter how enjoyable left a best of impact.

1. Bloodborne ; The best combat of the Souls. The best art direction and overall visuals of the Souls. The best enemy designs. The best music. The best atmosphere. The best game of the year. Bloodborne is the most refined and polished Souls game ever.

1) Until Dawn; Was looking forward to this since the initial announcement and expected it to be a nice little time-killer. I was so happy when it was reannounced for PS4. Game turned out better than i ever expected it to be. Absolutely incredible acting by some wonderful characters. I really really hope we get another game in the same vein from these guys, they really are a master of their craft and i can not recommend this game highly enough.

2) The Order 1886; I know a lot of people hated this game but i personally thought it was really good. The game could have been longer sure, but the characters and the story were wonderful. If anything it was merely a victim of its own hype. I would love to see a sequel to this, but i doubt it'll ever happen now.

3) Tales from The Borderlands; What a fantastic little game. Better than any of GB's Borderlands games with a really touching story (Scooter!). TellTale's greatest work.

4) Destiny: The Taken King; Haven't spent as many hours with this as i did with vanilla Destiny but it's still great. A massive improvement over vanilla with a lot of decent things to do. I've also met some of the greatest people through Destiny.

5) Beyond: Two Souls; Say what you like about David Cage and his games but i absolutely adore this game and everything about it. It doesn't hit the heights of Heavy Rain but i woud never regret rebuying this game.

6) TearAway: Unfolded; Didn't love it as much as the Vita original, maybe due to most of it being a retread of the same thing. But still an utterly adorable adventure with a terribly sweet ending

7) Rocket League; I wasn't as massive of a fan of this game as some of you, but i did enjoy it for the couple of months that i played it. I kind of gave up on it after i got the platinum trophy but it still cracks my top 10 games of the year - great fun with friends and i laughed so so much.

8) Life is Strange; Bit of a weird one for me. I liked the first couple of episodes. Four was the definite highlight. But i really, really did not like the last episode. It felt like a massive cop-out to me with the whole "rewind to the beginning and stop it all happening, about 20 times" thing. Meh. Still, it was a decent adventure. And i enjoyed it somewhat.

1. The Witcher III: Wild Hunt ; Amazing world, superb quests, great narrative.
2. Divinity Original Sin - Enhanced Edition ; Best RPG combat in a long time.
3. SOMA ;
4. Until Dawn ;
5. Rise of the Tomb Raider ;

1. score classic goals 2 ; i started playing this 5 mins at start of every lunch break. it calms me down, gets me ready for the rest of the work day. it's easy to play and fun to mess around with and satisfying despite repetition.
2. metal gear solid v: the phantom pain ; just a clinic in game design to all those boring, cluttered western open world games that we're inflicted with. incredibly thoughtful design, balances freedom of planning your own approach and fluidly adapting with satisfying well crafted mechanics and level design. i've only played about ten- fifteen hours or so since september 1st. it's just too much intense five dimensional chess for most of my life. when i do though, it's essential, unforgettable, brilliant.
3. super mario maker ; the playfulness of mario, and the fun of immediate easy experimentation tricks you into getting a much greater appreciation of how games are constructed. i became obsessed with refining my levels. getting my friend to playtest them. taking notes. explaining what i tried to acheive. you can get your creative juices flowing just with a pen and some paper but i have to be tricked into accessing that pleasure and this did a great job.
4. animal crossing happy home designer ; sometimes less is more. simple joys. a bed in perfect harmony with a nearby house plant. the quiet pleasure of remixing someone elses ideas into the most satisfying design you can manage. feeling like you've done the best job with what you have avaliable to you in that moment. like every animal crossing game it's about teaching you to get the most out of the simple elements of life.
5. everybody's gone to the rapture ; i don't really care about the story, the recreation of the rural shropshire that my grandparents used to live in and i'd spend summers wandering was achingly beautiful. an evocative world stopped in time for me to slowly reminisce my way through.
6. bloodborne ; i don't really understand the way the world fits together and trying to piece it together gives me anxiety. mechanics, enemies, visual design are fantastic.
7. splatoon ; charming in a mario sunshiney way. didn't really get into the online enough. maybe more interesting for me as a blueprint for the future of nintendo games than actually playing.

1. The Witcher III ; It's just too good. I normally can't get into these high fantasy settings but CDPR made such a great game, such a dense and interesting world, that it grabbed me and never let go.
2. Metal Gear Solid V ; Probably the most gameplay ever stuffed into one package. Was the story a let down? A little. But that gameplay loop was so compelling, the options afforded to the player are so varied and flexible that it was easily forgiven.
3. Rocket League; Oh Rocket League, all over my face.
4. Journey (ps4); really memorable, played it all in one sitting and it's a truly amazing thing. Beautiful really, in every way.

This game has been criticized heavily for what many claim as a lack of content. Meanwhile I have sunk countless hours into a single mode: Fighter Squadron. In my dreams there will be a game in the future made solely around this mode with its ship based combat. It's made all the more enjoyable by its spot on sound design and I simply can't get enough of it. It is also worth mentioning that it has the most impressive realistic graphics I have ever seen in a game let alone one that runs at 60 fps. I have no idea how they pulled that off but wowwwwww does it look great. While I also enjoy the classic arcadey gameplay that it provides in the copious other multiplayer modes in the game I just keep coming back to Fighter Squadron and I don't see that stopping anytime soon.

Okay, I thought about it but I think this is right.

1, Rocket League; I love the simple gameplay, I love how they put out content, I love the soundtrack, I love it.
2. Until Dawn; This game had me interested after the PSX demo last year and holy crap, it's amazing. The best David Cage game ever and it's not by Cage. It's does lose it's stride after the twist but at that point, I was already too invested.
3. Life is Strange; Episode 5 issues aside, I loved the characters and was invested. The time travel mechanic works really well and it's key to the story. I didn't want the ride to end but it's a journey worth taking.
4. Mortal Kombat X; It's good, lackluster story and DLC aside. It's a well built fighter with a lot replayablity. It's visual gem.
5. LEGO Dimensions; Doctor Who and Portal sold me and it's a pricey game but it's really fun. (just get those two level packs really.)

I really love reading this thread. As a matter of fact....it got me interested in some games I never would have considered buying.
My own list will be up in a couple of days. Have to finish 2 more games :)

1. The Witcher III: Wild Hunt ; First game to show me a narrative don't have to suffer for a game to be open world. Every other open world RPG will be measured against this game for me. CDProjekt Red must be commended on how they address the support of the game and fair price and fair lenght DLC. It shouldn't need to be said, but it's the times we live in when it's the exception.
2. Rise of the Tomb Raider ; Good step up from the first game while building upon it in a positive way. Way better than Uncharted. Naughty Dog will have a good competition.
3. Halo 5: Guardians ; Really fun co-op campaign, fun multiplayer. Warzone are a nice additions. I'm not into FPS but I love Halo.
4. Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward ; Fun addition to the base game. Played a lot of hours on it.
5. The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky; Nice throw back jRPG. Good dialog, combat system. All around a very fun adventure.
6. Bloodborne ; Did not finish but I can see this game is special. Load time are annoying. Framce pacing as well. Will most likely go back and finish it at some point.
7. Gears of War: Ultimate Edition ; Never played the original. Played the entire campaign with a friend in Co-Op. I had an awesome time.
8. Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker ; Charming and relaxing game. Really colorful. All around a good time.
9. Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void ; We finally have the conclusion to the series. Very cheesy but so captivating. I enjoyed the campaign a lot. Looking forward to Ghost Stories.
10. Xenoblade Chronicles X ; Awesome premise. Falls flat on it's ass story wise. Doesn't live up at all to it's predecessor. Gorgeous art style. Fun exploration.

1. Metal Gear Solid 5 ; Superb, in spite of its shortcomings. Imagine if Kojima had a publisher other than Konami.
2. Batman Arkham Knight ; Still filmic even with Troy Baker noticeably voicing 90% of the characters.
3. Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection ; Do remasters count? The mailroom staff at Naughty Dog are better writers than creative directors at any other developer.
4. Fallout 4 ; For a game that frequently discusses robots overtaking their human counterparts, every character looks straight out of the uncanny valley. The least janky Bethesda product yet, with a beautiful score, humor, and gameplay.
5. Hearthstone: Blackrock Mountain / League of Explorers ; My kids will never go to college because of this game.
6. Disgaea 5 ; This is the pinnacle of turn-based SRPG's. Wonderful gameplay. Great colors. Fanciful, albeit trite, story.
7. Undertale ; Masterful soundtrack and characters. One of the few "funny games" that actually delivers laughs.
8. Ori and the Blind Forest ; The first five minutes of this game can be expressed mathematically as Bambi's Mom divided by the square root of Simba's dad.
9. Rise of the Tomb Raider ; It's the same game as the one before it, mechanically. The new backdrops are pretty, I suppose. Why can't Lara dual-wield pistols?
10. Xenoblade Chronicles X ; The story, characters, and music are so bad they're somewhere between Sy-Fy original movie and after-school special. But good Christ is there joy in the exploration.

1. Yakuza 5 ; Best Yakuza to date so It was absolutely worth the wait. Took me 66 hours to beat the main storyline but I'll no doubt be putting hundreds of hours into it to do the side stuff. I'm saying this from the bottom of my heart, if you still own a PS3 you owe it yourself to play this game. And if you don't then make sure you give Yakuza 0 a try next year. I'll assure you, it'll blew you away.
2. Bloodborne ; A Souls game with faster paced gameplay and awesome Victorian atmosphere? How can someone not love this. Also the DLC was godlike.
3. Life is Strange ; Just play it, you'll thank me later.
4. Resident Evil Revelation 2 ; After RE:R1 I had zero expectations for this but god after playing it, it absolutely blew me away with how well done it was. Not just the gameplay and mechanics but atmosphere and even the story. I have legit interest into RE series again all thanks to this game. Also, Raid mode is awesome.
5. Until Dawn ; Absolutely loved everything about this game. Really hope to see more games like this in the interactive/drama genre.
6. Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition ; Lack of new modes and missions is a little disappointing but still, 3 new characters with different play styles? Right now, combat wise, this game is hands down the best action title of all time.
7. The Witcher 3 : Wild Hunt ; Gwent. Do I really need to say more?
8. Resident Evil Remake HD ; This was my first time playing the original RE and I absolutely loved it. No doubt I'll be playing this game for years.
9. Assassin's Creed Syndicate ; This was my first AC on current gen platforms and I really liked it. There are still rooms for lots of improvements but overall I think people should give this game a try. It's really fun and AC-ish in a good way.
10. Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain ; As a MGS fan this game was a huge disappointment for me. But still, gameplay is really solid and enjoyed it as a top notch TPS (even if the actual world and missions were boring) so it deserves to be maintained here.

Honorable mentions:
x. Batman Arkham Knight ; Same with MGS V. A little disappointing coming from Arkham City but I still liked it.

I still have a few games that I haven't played (like Tales from Borderlands) so I might change some of these later and probably add more honorable mentions.

1) MGSV Gameplay is king
2) Bloodbourne ROM and the difficulty spike in the beginning push it down to number 2.
3) Xenoblade X strange game. bad dialogue, okay gameplay but amazing world.

Wrong formating and spelling (Bloodborne), pal.

Rom is not THAT hard.
:p

1: Metal Gear Solid 5 - Superb, in spite of its shortcomings. Imagine if Kojima had a publisher other than Konami.
2: Batman Arkham Knight - Still filmic even with Troy Baker noticeably voicing 90% of the characters.
3: Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection - Do remasters count? The mailroom staff at Naughty Dog are better writers than creative directors at any other developer.
4: Fallout 4 - For a game that frequently discusses robots overtaking their human counterparts, every character looks straight out of the uncanny valley. The least janky Bethesda product yet, with a beautiful score, humor, and gameplay.
5: Hearthstone: Blackrock Mountain / League of Explorers - My kids will never go to college because of this game.
6: Disgaea 5 - This is the pinnacle of turn-based SRPG's. Wonderful gameplay. Great colors. Fanciful, albeit trite, story.
7: Undertale - Masterful soundtrack and characters. One of the few "funny games" that actually delivers laughs.
8: Ori and the Blind Forest - The first five minutes of this game can be expressed mathematically as Bambi's Mom divided by the square root of Simba's dad.
9: Rise of the Tomb Raider - It's the same game as the one before it, mechanically. The new backdrops are pretty, I suppose. Why can't Lara dual-wield pistols?
10: Xenoblade Chronicles X - The story, characters, and music are so bad they're somewhere between Sy-Fy original movie and after-school special. But good Christ is there joy in the exploration.

1. Yakuza 5 - Best Yakuza to date so It was absolutely worth the wait.

2. Bloodborne - A Souls game with faster paced gameplay and awesome Victorian atmosphere? How can someone not love this. Also the DLC was godlike.

3. Life is Strange - Just play it, you'll thank me later.

4. Resident Evil Revelation 2 - After RE:R1 I had zero expectations for this but god after playing it, it absolutely blew me away with how well done it was. Not just the gameplay and mechanics but atmosphere and even the story. I have legit interest into RE series again all thanks to this game. Also, Raid mode is awesome.

5. Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition - Lack of new modes and missions is a little disappointing but still, 3 new characters with different play styles? Right now, combat wise, this game is hands down the best action title of all time.

6. The Witcher 3 : Wild Hunt - Gwent. Do I really need to say more?

7. Resident Evil Remake HD - This was my first time playing the original RE and I absolutely loved it. No doubt I'll be playing this game for years.

8. Assassin's Creed Syndicate - This was my first AC on current gen platforms and I really liked it. There are still rooms for lots of improvements but overall I think people should give this game a try. It's really fun and AC-ish in a good way.

9. Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom - As a MGS fan this game was a huge disappointment for me. But still, gameplay is really solid and enjoyed it as a top notch TPS (even if the actual world and missions were boring) so it deserves to be maintained here.

10. Batman Arkham Knight - Same with MGS V. A little disappointing coming from Arkham City but I still liked it.

Wrong formating as well.

1. Bloodborne ; Not only the best game of the year but my new favorite game of all time. Perfect setting, amazing lore, challenging gameplay. Finished it 4 times this year despite a crazy backlog.
2. Ori and the Blind Forest ; The best Metroidvania game I have played since SOTN.
3. Resident Evil Revelations 2 ; Not perfect but a step into the right direction. Episode 4 was the closest thing to what Resident Evil used to be since over a decade.
4. Fallout 4 ; Loved this game to bits the first 30 hours but then it just got stale. I'm completely overpowered and the game just lost all appeal to me. May get back into it one day.

That are all the new games I have played this year. Didn't found the time to play Witcher 3, PoE or MGSV yet and I don't want to list any Remasters.
