Nintendo Direct: new presentation announced for tomorrow

They put more effort in the Kirby announcement than the Paper Mario announcement.

That means it's gonna be bad isn't it? :(

At least Rhythm Heaven is coming west.

Morfeo

The Chuck Norris of Peace
So to sum up stuff I have to get in the streams:

Fire Emblem
Kirby
Star Fox
tons of smaller games
Dragon Quest

Looks to be a pretty decent next few months for the 3DS, less so for the Wii U.

Well, SNES on 3DS is kinda fun... unfortunately not at the stupid prices they're going to charge. As for the rest, uhhhhh

Nice Direct. Anyone expecting Zelda was setting some weird expectations. It will be shown along with NX as an NX/U title at E3.

Man, the NX reveal had better have some amazing games because I am getting really tired of these B & C team creatively bankrupt games they are dumping out at this point.

Well I'm down for StarFox Zero, and maybe if they sell the content for Hyrule Warriors Legends on the WiiU itself, I'll pick that up.

it's just so transparent how everything in this direct is filler, produced as cheaply as possible. Very depressing.

Hard not to escape that conclusion. One we called way back after a year when the Wii U had cratered. That they'd just have to ride out their big guns and then produce filler until the next gen. So it has come to pass.

Star Fox looked great, will definitely be a day one purchase for me. Paper Mario looked kinda interesting, but I need to see more before I make up my mind.

Honest impressions:

Good:
Mario Maker Patch: Cool functions, will be great for story/quest levels.
New 3DS SNES VC: I wish their account system didn't suck so I wouldn't need to buy another copy of games I already bought on Wii U and Wii and SNES.
Disney Art Academy: Awesome idea. The Art Academy series is so good and this is such a logical extension of it.
DQ7: One of the coolest big little RPGs of all time, super looking forward to it!!!
Rhythm Heaven Megamix: Best of hits of an amazing series.

Meh:
Paper Mario Wii U: I'll check it out but looks like it's another RPG-light gimmick-driven game :(
My Nintendo: Wow, they told us nothing
Mario vs Donkey Kong: This Time With Amiibos: This poor, poor franchise. Is this the 14th or 15th game in it? Now with Amiibos?
Game Freak's Horse Jockey: Bill Trinnen talking about breeding. OK.
Azure Striker Gunvolt 2: Never checked out the first, then the PC port ended up being bad so I definitely never checked it out.
Monster Hunter Generations: Not my franchise, didn't look very good.
Bravely Second: Kinda looks like a recycled expansion pack instead of a sequel, really sad to see a successful original game have a lazy sequel.
Metroid Prime Federation Force: This basically seems like MP Hunters in terms of the fact that no one would be interested if it wasn't part of an IP people like. Leaning towards bad after the interminably boring trailer they showed.
Kirby: I like Kirby, but this is like the 11th or 12th Kirby game and they never really do anything new. The mech sections looked like the bland parts of Mega Man X where you rode a robot. The saving grace is that the side mode has download play.

Bad:
Star Fox Zero: Looks bad
Star Fox Guard: Looks bad
Mario and Sonic 2016: Looks terrible, just awful
""""Tokyo Mirage Sessions Sharp FE"""": Actual real-time reaction to trailer from someone else in the chat I streamed this with: "#FE is like everything I hate about Japan distilled down to one title."
Lost Reavers: Looks actually worse than Final Fantasy XI for PS2. Terrible framerate, boring looking, awful overwhelming MMO UI, F2P, boring looking dungeon designs. This is like bottom-tier Korean F2P MMO stuff, now on consoles.
Pokken: Looks terrible.
Fire Emblem Fates Revelation: As before, I think this business model is garbage, the game looks bad, the art looks bad. It just seems bad.
Hyrule Warriors Legends: Looks like a nerfed port of a game I had no interest in on another platform from a genre I don't like.

In general: So many fucking random-ass retailer demos / codes / pre-order junk / transfer codes / DLC. It's all the crap no one likes about other publishers now all over Nintendo.

Not lacking for content, but certainly lacking for good content.

I'll never understand the hate for this Star Fox entry. It looks like phenomenal fun.

If I'm being honest on a personal level that may have been the worst Nintendo Direct I've ever watched. There wasn't even a single title I'm interested in buying.

They must be holding a metric ton back for the NX in terms of software

Still a little salty about the lack of Style Savvy, BUT! New Kirby, and motherfucking RHYTHM HEAVEN. I am okay with this.
