Climbing aboard the hype train and settling into the NX caboose! Why the caboose? Saving the best for last of course!
Dreaming of F-Zero, Wave Race, Excite something, new Mario, Animal Crossing, BG&E (?), remasters, collabs and any other Nintendo tomfoolery that's bound to surprise...
Zelda in all it's gender equality quality!
Also hype for Monster Hunter, bring it!!!

It is time for Crash to return. I would like it for Sly to join him but he may come later in the year.

Sony Santa Monica, Sony Bend and Sony Japan (wishful thinking) coming to announce their big games

Anyone else not as hyped for E3? Not because I expect E3 to be bad either. It is just that there is so much coming already that it is more of an icing on top of the cake situation rather than wanting to finally see the goods.

If that makes any sense.

I'm hoping for a couple nice surprises this year, like Horizon from last year. I don't expect bombs like last year.

I'd also like for the new models of consoles to be announced so we can stop speculating. I need to know if I should start saving for the PS4.5 or not.

My E3 wish list:

Horizon: Zero Dawn
Mass Effect: Andromeda
Legend of Zelda Wii U/NX
Pokémon Sun/Moon
Cyberpunk 2077
Star Wars RPG

Things I want but won't get:

New Spyro (non-Skylanders) game
Elder Scrolls VI

Announcing it too early would depress PS4 sales this holiday.

If it's really coming in H1 2017, then I think that's a 2017 announcement. Probably an announcement in February and then release in May alongside GOW4.

Microsoft should be interesting because I have no idea what surprises they could have lined up first-party wise. 343i won't be revealing Halo 6 this soon, but we'll definitely see Halo Wars 2. Turn 10 will be showing the next Forza. Coalition will show an extended Gears 4 demo. Rare will show a Sea of Thieves demo. They also have Mojang so they might do something Minecraft. No clue what they can do. If they've sorted it by then I can see them having the killer cross-platform multiplayer announcement.

I think Sony probably has more potential for surprises, with the amount of studios they have working on stuff. My only fear is that they dedicate a large portion to VR. I'm excited for it, but the last PSVR keynote showing was painful.

You must not care about Nintendo if you're not hyped. It will be an incredibly important showing for them.

You're probably right. I guess I just wish I could know what is going on so I could plan financially. Anyway I don't want to derail this thread so I will stop there.

I'm mostly hype for NX Platform games, since I'm of the thought that Nintendo may reveal the platform itself ahead of time to avoid getting overshadowed by the PS4K & VR.

Now that we've had the announcement of Shenmue 3, my main interest in the next few E3s will be updates on its development :D

Maybe some info on Resi 7. 5 and 6 were disappointing for me but I still reckon we'll get another quality game from that series yet.

Oh shit, and maybe just a peek at RE2 remake...

It depends on what the final product will be and how they market it. I'm guessing they're also going to announce a price drop for the PS4 when they do announce the 4k to help offset potential lost sales.

Very excited for the NX reveal. More to see what exactly it is. Ready for disappointment!
As stated earlier, given what Sony's bringing to the table, I'm not sure if Nintendo's gonna run the risk of putting all of their NX eggs in the E3 basket.

My NX at E3 wishlist:

- Diddy Kong Racing 2 by Monster Games and Retro Studios (MK7-style collab, not their main game)
- Sonic 25th Anniversary game (NX-exclusive)
- Pokemon Sun and Moon cross release (not likely, this has only ever been done with PMD1 on GBA and DS)
- 3D open-world Mario that takes after Sunshine and 64.
- 3D DK game (Camelot wants to do it, let them)
- 3D Kirby (3D Challenge in Planet Robobot is a nice start I guess, but make it a FULL major 3D game)
- Retro Studios new IP (preferably more core-oriented ala Metroid Prime)
- Next Level Games new IP (this one being a cartoony platformer, preferably 3D)
- Non-Xenoblade Monolith Soft JRPG (can be a Xenosaga revival/HD trilogy, or an actual new IP, XB needs a rest)
- Nintendo-published 3rd-party exclusives (Sonic could be one, who knows) like Bayonetta 2 and Devil's Third (BG&E2 is rumored to be one)
- Lots of Japanese 3rd-party announcements (western ones would be icing on the cake, but I much prefer Japanese games)

Some are more realistic than others, but still, if we're doing wishlists... :p

Whilst a pre-E3 NX reveal would be good, I really do not see how the announcement of a thing we know so much about (the PS4K) will overshadow a new Nintendo home console/handheld that to now has been a complete and utter mystery..

Tango announcing The Evil Within 2 is the most realistic thing from my wishlist, there's a decent chance we see it and I hope we do.

Since it's been rumored for a couple years I always hold out a little hope for a Parappa the Rapper announcement. And a (good) Crash Bandicoot game would be pretty cool too.

I'd burn my house down for a new Perfect Dark or Banjo-Kazooie.

I want to see Agent. After The Last Guardian in 2015, who's to say the dead don't ride at E3? Also, I want to see Crash Bandicoot and God of War 4. And NX. And a big Japanese games presence like last year's E3.

What makes you think they'll save SoT for Gamescom? I'm sure they'll show more of the game at E3. They just have to.....

The combination of PS4K & VR would potentially overshadow the NX Platform, especially given the hype behind VR & the fact that Nintendo has fallen a bit off the wayside (making the fight for attention even harder for them).

The thing is both of those are known quantities, not exactly surprising. If we knew for certain FFVII, TLG and Shenmue would be at last year's conference the initial hype would have still been there, but not to as much an extent. Even then, PS4K is controversial to say the least and PSVR's conference showings have never impressed whilst we know the price/release date already (VR conference showings are paradoxes frankly, they just don't work).

Nintendo may have fallen by the wayside but it's still very much something most in the gaming community watch. A new console with an entirely new branding direction that's completely unknown will be massive no matter what it is.

There are five 3D platformers on your list.

I'm totally hyped for this E3 for many reasons so I'm really curious to see what they are going to blow our mind or not. I think we are going to hear something about NX before E3 tho.

There are so many things to look forward to at E3:
Conference:
PS4K
NeXbox
NX

Games:
Horizon
Red Dead
Mass Effect
Deus ex
Zelda

Any new surprises.
