Will PS4Neo be at E3?

The Sony E3 press conference thread got a lot of people excited about Sony's presser but I noticed that a lot of folks are very confident that the PS4Neo will be there. I'm not totally convinced. There's a few reasons why I wouldn't be surprised if PS4Neo is a no show:

- PSVR is launching later this year and Sony will be pushing that hard at E3

- Rumors suggest PS4 Neo could be out anywhere from September to November, if Sony unveils this thing in June it will really hurt PS4 sales

- I don't think Sony would unveil huge new games at E3 and then explicitly state "this is how good it looks and its running on PS4 Neo" leaving regular PS4 owners to assume their version will be crap. From the leaked documents it seems Sony is very concerned with not alienating existing PS4 owners, so I'm not even sure if the graphical improvements would even be large enough to demonstrate well on an E3 stage.

So at this point I am pretty much 50/50 on this new console actually being at E3. I could see it go either way and it's certainly not a sure thing as some people think. If they do unveil it, I think the leaks and rumors basically forced their hand and they were forced to unveil it earlier than they hoped. What do you think?

Yes, too much talk around it and it has already been basically confirmed. No reason to not talk about it and show how this is going to work with current PS4's on the market.

I'm starting to think no. If they reveal it in June and plan to release in late sept or early October then PS4 sales will die. Best to announce at PGW.

Sony will only have one game playable on the show floor at E3 2016 : the PS3 version of The Last Of Us. We look forward to sharing more information on our plans later in the year.

I didn't expect all the "No"s...

No, they need to focus on the VR or it will flop.

Because of the state of VR in general? Or just their product vs VIVE/Oculus?

Is VR in trouble? I'm pretty sure it isn't... they are still trying to supply the current pre-orders of VIVE/Oculus, aren't they?

Probably at TGS, a month before launch or a week before launch. Otherwise they would be gimping their sales for the next 6 months.

No - E3 will be about PSVR. Attention can be given to Neo at a later point; too many shiny things at one time will dilute the impact of both.

They have to reveal it at E3. It's been leaked so many times, and it's only a matter of time before Nerd Leaks or Kotaku fully exposes it.

Plot twist!
It's available now!

Or at the very least available much sooner than everyone thinks.

All we basically kinda know is that it's a project that exist and supposedly production began or is beginning soon. I think it'll be available in Early September.

I can't imagine them wanting to tank 3+ months of PS4 sales by announcing it now.
Easy way around that is to announce a PS4 price drop.

Hardcore will wait for PS4K. Families, casuals, and those who just don't care about the benefits of PS4K will buy the base system at the discounted price.

With the lack of NX presence I kinda want to say Sony may hold it until TGS - they don't really need to show a new console to be at the top of the headlines.

I thought the Neo would be introduced with the VR...right?

Also, you can assume that what they show at E3 will be running on a Neo or equivalent rig.

Believes Dragon Quest is a franchise managed by Sony
Possibly. Just because VR is coming out this year dont mean a thing, they are separate products

Honestly I really don't think it will. For awhile I did but announcing new, upgraded hardware months in advance will crater sales. Whenever they announce it, it will be available almost immediately.

I would be pretty disappointed if at the least there isn't a reveal of it with a video that shows its capabilities.
If it will be physically there for everyone to try i don't know nor do i care.

Probably not, announcing it months before release will kill the PS4's momentum.
One could argue that it's already killing the PS4's momentum considering that they can't be bothered to brag about hardware sales data any more on monthly NPD days.
