Street Fighter V |OTV| BUFF MY MAIN & NERF THE CHARACTER I JUST LOST TO

Any figure collector people here? I have a question and since Figure GAF got nuked for lewdness I figured (no pun intended) that this would be a good place to ask.

I'd like to get this Chun-Li figure, but I don't know anything about Pop Culture Shock or the company that makes the figure. I don't mind the price tag as long as the figure is quality. Anyone have any feedback on this site/statue?

http://www.popcultureshocktoys.com/street-fighter-chun-li-vtrigger-exclusive.html

I ordered the Cammy from them last year. The company is non-communicative. It takes them forever to respond for e-mails. There hasn't been an update on the Cammy figure in their newsletter for months, even though by now it should be paid off (mine is). I had to find a forum where a representative posts to get an answer. The statue is delayed with no release date in sight.

That being said, I've seen their stuff in person and it is tremendous. If money isn't a worry to you, then I'd go for it, just be aware that you probably won't get it by their estimated date and they suck at responding to e-mails.

mad overpriced. Not worth it man.

Not at all. That's normal for a statue of this build and size. Whether or not it's worth it to you, personally, is entirely different, but their prices are quite reasonable.

Edit: Actually, Chun is pretty cheap. Might be because the base doesn't have much on it.

lmao

Does Necalli have the best pokes between him, Laura, and Rashid? Part of me wants to play Rashid again since he was my first main. But I really dig how straight-forward Necalli is, I feel like I can play him decently without any training mode time. Not the same case for the other two.

There's "solid Platinum/Gold" and then there's "I online'd my way into Gold/Plat".

Always fun to find out which is which

I played a super gold ryu yesterday who tatsu me full screen 3 times in a row even though I punished each time.

Necalli's st.mp/cr.MP are both great counter pokes and when in doubt throw out his st.HK just in case it tags something then V-trigger gg. and if they jump over the st.HK just st.LP AA then command throw or frame trap. easy game easy life

Laura's cr.HP is a good counter poke at a distance where it'll only hit if they walk into it or it'll clip with a button. cr.MP is solid and so is cr.MK. st.MP is also really good because the hitbox in front of it is a bit more wide than it seems.

Rashid's cr.HP -> cr.HP -> cr.HP, just keep flapping those arms fam
I don't know Rashid that well

Guess I'm still not fullly out of moron territory.

Point is you can press buttons after you block it, unless he cancels the first hit into his fireball or lvl 1 spinning mixer which is also -2 on block.

The issue with that move is that not only is it -2, but it has a huge range and great push back. Characters with stubbier normals will often get CC'ed if they try to interrupt a sequence of two cr.HPs, unless a Rashid is doing it at point blank range for some reason (which a good player wouldn't be doing; better options at that point).

That is true. Birdie's st.mk/cr.lp and FANG's cr.mp/st.mp is a great answer after blocking it but I can understand not every character having a good option.

That rashido cr.hp is -3 on block so don't keep spamming it

(unless the opponent is a moron like I was before I found that out)

Chun Li's st.FP is -3 and there's barely any threat in pressing that button 5 times over because if they try to counter poke = L, if they jump they're gonna get st.LK'd into 50/50, if they press a button after the st.HP = L

Just do it tbh

Yeah, lots of long reaching heavy moves have some sort of slow start-up / recovery which makes it susceptible for jump-ins ... but not Chun's st.FP though. More than enough time to recover and anti-air.

Yeah I just walk backwards and try to FB in their face. Or whiff punish it with c.mp

It's a really strong poke. Also, in real matches where reactions are key, I think the only way to get out of Chun pressure is V-reversal. Instant Legs and jab confirms are so scary.

I really need to get out of Silver. Me finally hitting Rank S in Splatoon made me realize that I'm getting behind in maintaining my SFV rank.

The Ranked addiction is real. I thought I'd never go back after hitting Gold, but I dipped my toe in a couple days ago and now I'm up 1500 points and into Super Gold. Can't stop.

Anyone who's played nothing but casuals for over a month definitely should jump into ranked from time to time. You're probably a rank or two below what you are now, since people at your level have ranked up during that time.

I think playing Gaffers has helped me way more than Casual, since people in Ranked seem to play very differently than people in Casual.

I wonder if that could apply to my Urien. I've been needing to finally step away from Karin for a while, but my Urien isn't at a competitive level, yet.

I'd be happy to vet you sometime if you'd like. I'm feeling more confident in my Urien with each passing day but could definitely use more practice with GAFers since I feel like y'all are much better than the average rando overall.

I'll probably take you up on that offer later this week.

This is why you don't screw around.

I used to freeze up a bit sometimes when my opponent got stunned. Still happens; I guess it's all the thoughts that rush into one's mind about how they could take advantage of the situation.

I do the classic jump in HK accidental miss by crossing up into bad damage lol

I have my stun combos so thoroughly etched into my brain that I do Alex's V-Skill every single time I get a stun just out of force of habit, even if the opponent's like one hit away from death. Poor saps probably think I'm taunting them when really it's just my weird compulsion.

Similarly, I almost always go for rope throw on stun with Mika, even when I should be doing a command grab to build more meter for the next round. I'm a slave to routine, I suppose.

Ha, I'm the same way with Alex. I almost feel bad sometimes, but I can't help it if I'm all warmed up.

It's weird, when I get a stun, I have it in my brain that I have to do a jump-in combo, even when it isn't optimal (i.e. Alex, Urien). I have to stop myself half the time.

Mika also has some semi-taunt set-ups with Mic-based stun mix-ups. Or just the Mic > Critical Art combo. I like it because it means I finally get to use her V-Skill.

If they're at just the right amount of health I sometimes do V-Skill > sHP > CA after a Stun just for the guaranteed win. The CA gets so much additional damage from just one tap of V-Skill so if you're gonna go for a super you might as well buff it first/

Can everyone who's platinum+ in this thread please post their cfn, or vleague?

Quoting for the new page.

I'm currently platinum. Cfn is lucebuce.

Man, I don't even have 550 ranked/casual games between two platforms. I feel like I play this a lot more than that, but all of my friends have 4-5x more games than I do. hahaha

What league would you guys consider to mean you're a "good" player? I was originally content with Gold, but I'm starting to think Platinum might be the level to aim for.
