Nintendo Switch |DT2| No excellent soul is exempt from a mixture of madness

Which of these definitely """real""" leaks are you most hyped for?

I want metroid to be designed like a metroid, not a souls game. I want souls on nintendo systems though.

If From Software was really doing it it wouldn't have to necessarily play like a Souls game. But From Software does have some know-how on interconnected worlds, and they do know how to create interesting worlds with a lot of atmosphere. I'm sure they would nail down the isolation aspect of Metroid games.

I've been able to pre-order this thing for a few days but have opted not to, as my plan is to wait till Fall. But if I change my mind to get it at launch I hope it'll be available without a pre-order. I actually think it'll be no problem walking in and buying it at launch here in Scandinavia.

Can you preorder at GameStop online to pickup in store?

In the U.S., no. Online pre-orders are separate from in-store. Gamestop only lets you do in-store pickup for products that are released and in-stock. If you want it in-store, you've gotta hoof it to your nearest location and put money down.

Primarily because you don't "purchase" the item online via that method. It just sends a message to the store to put one aside if they have it.

I'm hoping and praying that my store will have units first thing tomorrow. I have all my money for Switch tied up in Gamestop credit.

No, youre not gonna get one if you do that. I dont even think gamestop lets you do that

You can preorder things on the website and pick up in store.. not sure if this is for the switch but can be done for other things.

I think some of you are misinterpreting SFII.

- It's not supposed to be a substitute for all the 3rd party games Sony and Microsoft have. This isn't Nintendo saying: "Look, Sony has SFV, we have SFII!"
- It's the series' anniversary. What do people associate with "old Street Fighter"? SFII.
- Where did people play SFII? On the SNES. With the current Retro trend, the advertisement for this game writes itself. Two friends playing SFII on SNES -> time jump -> two friends playing SFII on Switch.
- I'm not even sure this will be Switch exclusive.
- It's a novelty game. It's not supposed to be the next Street Fighter or anything more than a tribute to the series with the most popular game of that series with some additional content.

How some of you make this feel-good title seem like the death of Switch is beyond me.
came here to post that. beaten >>

do you guys remember how the wii u preorders were handled? they put the links live as soon as the announcement was done? did it sold out right away? I remember placing a preorder at bestbuy.com, and it was easy, but I can't remember if I did right away or not

I would love to see someone with a fresh take try to take on the world of Metroid. I'm assuming play would be adjusting accordingly, but there so much good that could come to their approach on world building and world design. I think it could turn out great.

World Warrior's Dhalsim was pretty mean. I'm going to poke all of you from across the screen... while I'm on my bed! Or at work.

I'm still confused as the insistence people have for doing this in store. Is this an in-store credit thing where you can't do it online?
Some Gamestops don't do online preorders for consoles. They want a in store deposit as well.

The ones in my area don't allow online preorder.

I'm being a daredevil and gonna wait to buy it in person without a preorder. If it's 250

Like Team Ninja? Or the devs that did Federation Farce?

Can't get any work done this morning. Sheesh. Really excited about tonight. It's really fun seeing everyone else excited, too.

Regardless of whether or not tonight delivers, this has always been part of the fun for me. The hype, the photoshops, the theories, the tweets. Good stuff.

I got $300 in my wallet i've been saving since the switch reveal, so I kinda have to pre-order in store.

If you're doing cash, then yes, that makes perfect sense.

Are you saying you have to do pre-orders on a per-store basis? They don't let you just pre-order from Game Stop the retailer, and then ship your order to a local store if you want to do in-store pickup?

If we have UMVC3, Disgaea 5 and Tekken 7 at launch I'll be more than happy enough about the third party support of this thing (at launch at least).

People debating the possibility of a Konami franchise's revival (Bomberman)? Yeah, that's how I expected this thread to be going.
