I'll buy Switch for Super Mario Odyssey...but my guts wishing it was also on the Wii U as they didn't show enough else and the price is at least $50 too much considering Zelda isn't a pack-in.

Doubt I'll buy on launch day now.

Launch day looks garbo, but at least they've got a decent dripfeed of games over the year. Zelda -> Splatoon -> Mario, with MK8, FE Mosou, Smash, etc in the interim? Wii U was fucking nothing for, like, a year.

Good presentation overall. Arms, Spla2n, Mario, Zelda, Xenoblade 2, SMT, new Squeenix game. Good stuff, I'm satisfied.

Fucking Zelda though...good Lord

There's a few extra great videos on the Switch page. Like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which was seemingly absent, and the cute little Parental Controls video.

Can I get that hour of my life back? We could of been shown that months ago. Nintendo you got to do better than that. Its getting worse with each generation....I mean WTF!

I still don't understand what will be availble at launch.

Zelda, apparently.

That's my big problem with this presentation. They never really said what would be available when. It got particularly awful when they got a bunch of developers to go on stage and talk about nothing. In the end, we actually learned very little aside from the Joy-Cons.

I was really hoping for firm release dates, and maybe, if we were lucky, some specs.

I remember a GAF talking about how Switch devkits didn't get released til pretty late, and with all the "now in development" statements, that seems to be the case, unfortunately.

This was amazing. Felt like an older E3 show. Had some of the same downfalls too though, spending too much time on some minor details and stuff, and some announcements that were hollow/not ready to show/a long way off.

Anyway, I absolutely adored that Zelda trailer. Incredibly moving feel. Mario looked fantastic, other than the realistic people being juxtaposed with Mario (but I guess it's that or empty city). 12 Switch looks quirky and weird but very Nintendo, and actually sounds like a way to play that can work. Arms looks like it has a lot of potential, but I'd have to play it to really feel it out.

Although that Zelda trailer got me PUMPED!!!!!!!! to no ends, I have to be wise and play the waiting game a little longer to see what else comes out this year.

Hm have bit of mixed feelings, but it wasn't bad. I really want this system to do well.:/ Going to wait out and see. Mario was the highlight for me and quite a nice surprise of what it is aiming for. Hopefully it will turn out well.

Pros
Arms looks okay.
Zelda was fucking awesome
New Sandbox Mario
Japanese RPG game galore
The Handheld/Console portability is still cool.
Customization I guess?
No region locking
HD RUMBLEEEEEEE

Cons:

$300
Only like 2 games at launch?
Paid Online
2-6 Hour Battery Life
Mario not on day 1
Majority of the games weren't ready for release despite Nintendo holding back games for almost 2 years.
Random Games not being sold as a collection like sports.
No game included with Switch

Very good presentation - Nintendo was able to deliver a consistent marketing message.

I am happy about Zelda at Launch, SMT-Next, the SE-Project, NMH-Next, Disgaea and so many other projects.

The price hurts a but, but I'll bite the bullet if Zelda also launches in Europe with the console. That game is a strong contender for GOTY or even GOTG.

They really did a bad job of selling me on a Nintendo Switch.

I didn't get to see the system UI. Hell, I didn't get to see the shape of the game boxes. I've got so little to wrap my imagination around the experience of getting one.

Mario looked incredible, Zelda looked amazing.

Everything else se looked so half assed and rushed. Once again Nintendo blows 2-3 years with a dead system with nothing but gimmicky hardware to show for it.

You telling me they couldn't come out with a ps4 level system at this time at 300 bucks?

Sigh they never learn. Still chasing that casual market...

As usual it seems like it's all about the first party for Nintendo. I don't want to be all doom and gloom before the thing is even out but right now it doesn't feel any different than it's been for the past several years.

We SAW they had other games, games that were running in the sizzle real. Why the fuck didn't you talk about them?!?! Instead we got Sega guy going "we got a game" and suda showing 1 piece of art of travis. why? Why didn't you talk about Mario Kart, or why didnt you talk about Disgea?

Honestly for me it's Wii U part two.
There's nothing more to say. Mario Odyssey looks great.
Zelda looks great but it's a title that was promised on the previous console as well (on this matter are they still keeping their word about releasing it on Wii U as well?)
Also 299$, pay for online, 2.5h battery life with games pushing 3D graphics, no info on storage?
Basically their strategy is hoping that Zelda at launch, Splatoon 2 in summer and Mario during the holiday season will be enough to drive sales. That is only going to work for Nintendo fans.
I'll consider the system when it's at 199$ with way more games available, I really want to play Mario and Zelda.

I have no idea why they spent SO MUCH TIME on motion controls. Arghhhh

Why do you think? Surely, the reason that stuff didn't do well on Wii U is because they didn't explain their brilliant concepts to us in terms we could understand. Surely a third time at the well will produce better results.

I wonder 2 things:

- Why do we need to pay for online gaming? Do they have a system that is equal to PSX?
- How does the interface work?

They have talk way to much, they needed to put some time into those things

I thought it was a rather boring conference, but I came away excited. Motion controls and gyro aiming aren't dead!!! Woot! No more Heroes is coming! Yeah, I'm happy. Lots of good stuff.

Some meh stuff, too. Paying for online? Ugh. I blame all you Microsoft and Sony fans for paying for it, thus making it a thing. A bummer to be sure. For me, it depends on the price. If it's not too expensive, I'll get in on it. But it sucks.

UKGaf here and I got up at 4am to watch.

I do like to control my hype, because it is easy to get deflated. But damn...

I can not see myself pre ordering. I wanted the hype to draw me in, but nothing did. Not at launch at least.

Maybe best to wait this one out for me. Hopefully by Christmas that price comes down and there is a catalogue of games to play.

The presentation was boring and awful. Too much hardware details, but no games.

The new Mario looks awesome, Zelda as well, and I'm hyped for the Shin Megami Tensei game. But the rest... meh.

I think I will wait till this fall to get a Switch, no I don't feel like getting it.

Shit, I woke up at 4:45 for nothing.

I'm not sold. I have a Wii U and will definitely pick up Zelda, but I didn't see anything substantially better graphically than the system I have. Mario Odyssey looks interesting, but $300 is PS4 territory and it's hard to justify that money on Switch for just a game or two.

Wii U same day.

I am a little hesitant to pre-order right away, just because I'm saving up for a trip to London in March.

That said, that Zelda game would be a great time-killer on the flights.

Yeah, if it's a 2 hour flight.

Switch doesn't seem worth getting at launch right now. I can get Zelda for my Wii U.

yeah hype for pre order has gone to zero, I might pre order but probably cancel if the launch lineup isn't strengthened. I don't really care about zelda, I was more into MK8, DKTF, Mario Maker, and other top wii u games I never got to play.

Especially since you 100% know more custom skin switches will be released in the holiday that will probably be way cooler, come bundled with a game, and be cheaper.

No doubt about it. I'll be holding off for a Mario Odyssey bundle.

For reference, Zhuge tweeted that PS4 had 140 games in development as of June 2013, while Switch has 80 right now. Seems quite decent in that perspective, though nothing spectacular.

I really need a more concrete layout of the launch period and window before deciding to buy. Zelda is a great game, but I would like something more.

The presentation seemed really weak to me, with very few games of significant weight seeming to exist for the first few months. That is disappointing, and makes the €300 (likely) price point a tough pill to swallow. I find it hard to believe that there was so much focus on motion controls, I had hoped they would be done after Wii, but it seems they want to try again with the same idea, and that is disappointing.

All in all, I had hoped for more from this presentation, especially from western third parties. I don't really see the appeal at this moment, but maybe if Zelda and Skyrim arrive at launch I will consider it.
