I was excited at the the opening. Because of all my built up tension but the conference surprised me in a good way. I'm going to kind of run a play by play here of what happened.

The "HD Rumble" surprised me in a good way and is definitely a very "Nintendo Like" feature. On top of an apparently greatly enhanced IR sensor and motion controls.

I was excited for the price. $300 is well within my day 1 range I'm running into gamestop to pre-order today.

I wasn't excited for the pay for online service. UNTIL I got the details. Now that you are paying Nintendo can apparently afford to add the features we've been missing for so long. Things like voice chat. On top of that you get a free game every month.

Say it with me. New open world 3d Mario! When he said that it was their first open world 3D Mario since Sunshine I about lost it. I think I scared the cat. On top of that it looked absolutely gorgeous.

Xenoblade 2 blew my mind. Monolith finally found a character art style that works for them.

New SMT Game, New No More Heroes, New Fire Emblem by Koei, and that third party reel was amazing.

Zelda BOTW trailer at the end literally left me sitting on couch with my mouth hanging open for several minutes after the conference ended AND it's a launch title?! 900p was a positive surprise for me as I was expecting 720p.

The games on the system look way better than several equivalent wiiU games. (across the board) which lines up with the power expectations perfectly (slightly above the wiiU handheld and several times the wiiU docked). We are quite literally getting a handheld that's actually better than a current home console. That's something that sounded like a pipe dream only a few years ago.

It was really the games that sold me though so many amazing looking games.

So Gaf what do you think? I waited a few hours to collect my thoughts and I gotta say even though that conference had a few points that drug on a bit I ended up loving it after some reflection. I give it a B+

The price is a bit off-putting but nothing else shown has deterred me. Much of what was shown about the console itself was known and so it's not going to make me not want it which is why I am perplexed by all the people changing their minds.

The lineup is incredble. People trashing it are just looking for an excuse to attacks Nintendo. And likely had no interest to begin with.

We have Zelda at launch, Mario Kart and Arms a month later, then Splatoon in the summer.

And the return of fucking open world Mario in the fall.

Nintendo hit every note PERFECTLY.

Not gonna pay $299, then $70 for a pro controller, and then eventually pay for a membership fee. That's all before buying an actual game.

The line-up bar Zelda is sincerely disappointing. I'll wait it out to see if it continues to get the third party support after the first year. After the Wii-U's I imagined they'd focus on getting a stronger lineup of third-party games and securing some important IPs, apparently not.

Additionally, an online fee for a service for which Nintendo have NEVER showed any strength in previously isn't very promising, nor are the ridiculous accessory prices. If anything it's actually dampened the excitement the initial reveal gave me.

I'm fucking hyped !!!

Love the concept, love the controllers. Zelda at launch, Mario Odyssey looks amazeballs, Splatoon 2.

Hopefully, there's an account system so i can start buying digital games and not having to worry about hardware...

Hype has died for me tbh

Was so excited before the presentation but now? Lol nope
Unless there's a direct showing which games are coming out before splatoon 2(aside from Mario kart) then I'm waiting

I will buy it, but I wouldn't used the word 'hyped'.

More of "I will get it when I see it on a shelf" type thing

I agree with a lot of the sentiment here on GAF. The price is hard to swallow with a launch line-up that lackluster. It's like nintendo just isn't fucking learning! I wouldn't mind the price if there were a handful of decent games on the console at launch. I bought a 3DS at launch and it just sat there collecting dust.

I know it will be a success. But that price is prohibitive.

Once the Pokemons drop, and the Animal Crossings, along with a 249 pricetag, it will be easier to digest.

Hyped for No More Heroes 3.

The price is exactly what I've been expecting and saying for months, the games look great, the concept is as appealing to me as it always was, the only bummer to me is paid online. So yeah, I'm hyped.

I'm with you, OP. Went in with low expectations and I enjoyed the stream for what it is. And I'm looking forward to the Treehouse Live stream for the games.

I'm excited for playing the unique games that Nintendo will have, plus all the extra goodies, like Bomberman returning with Super Bomberman R!

I'm excited and I have a preorder (or 3), but I am still somewhat underwhelmed and disappointed.

it has literally no launch games

I'm totally more hyped than when I started. Gonna be a lot of games I'm interested in playing on the system. Need some FPS games, though. Hopefully we'll get some announced in the next couple of weeks. Being region free really opens things up for me. I'm excited.

This reads like parody but ok. Whatever floats your boat.

They might recapture my excitement when Mario launches.

I'm not. 330€, the high price for accesories, the non-existent launch lineup, paying for online services, having to use your phone to use the voice chat and the free game every month being a NES/SNES game and (probably) disappearing the next month...

I'll buy it, for sure, but not this year. I love the console but not like this...

The price is the only "problem" i was expecting 250 Euros and it is 330 which is a quite bit more, but maybe they could not have gone cheaper sine its a pretty capable handheld.

Also i'm not sure about the new mario, it just looks weird but then again i'm glad they keep "changing " the formula so every 3D instalment is a fresh game but i will try to get it on launch if possible.

The cost of the console/accessories is a little high (especially for us Canadians) but the presentation exceeded my expectations. Leaving in 10 mins to go preorder. 👍

I'ma hold out for the NEW Nintendo Switch. I was extremely underwhelmed by the conference. That price point and 32gb is god damn ridiculous

I could never not buy Nintendo's consoles, their games are too good. Third party support is irrelevant to me, its only for exclusives. I game on PC on a 1440p 165hz gsync monitor so I do chuckle a little when I see Ps4 players being like "Urgh Zelda is only 900p its so blurry my eyes!!"

The pricing is insane for the controllers. I thought it was going to be $250 and hoped for $200 but no. Not paying that to get 2 hours of battery life.

Also the generic anime faces for XBC2 really ruined the excitement for when they got everything else so right like the music.

Hype deflated since they didn't just go all out. Kimishima said himself that some internal teams (for example, Retro) are still working on things and I'm like, fuck that. Just show me.

Zelda alone can't sell this system to me. Sorry. Maybe getting one more towards Mario's release would be best, to let the library build up and not have a repeat of the Wii U.

This may be the first time in a while that I just don't care about getting a Nintendo system at launch, especially at $300 with expensive additional controllers.

This is also me.

I'm also happy that there seems to be some smaller handheld-esque games such as Super Bomberman R in the pipeline. I am predominantly a handheld player, so the Switch is really hitting the mark for me, despite the price point (which is only about £30 more than I was expecting anyway).

This can't be a serious post, surely.

I wish I could say the same. But between the many disappointing pieces of information what baffled me the most is the sheer lack of games.

By the time the Switch launches, Nintendo will have hardly released anything in the past two years on WiiU. What have all their teams been working on all this time?

Zelda BOTW has been in the making for YEARS. It looks great, but yeah. It's coming out on WiiU. The Mario game looks promising although Donk City just looks awful and uncanny. Xenoblade 2 was a nice surprise.

Besides that? Small, light-hearted games, remakes or simple mentions of games that are being worked on.

In the end the lineup for the infamous "launch window" looks maybe even worse than it did back on WiiU. Feels a bit like Nintendo didn't learn anything.

You're right, Mario Odyssey looks great.
Fire Emblem Warriors is a day 1 for me.
I can't wait for Xenoblade 2!
I already own a Wii U, though. Breath of the Wild and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe don't sell me for launch.
With the introduction of paid online, Splatoon 2 is off my radar entirely. I scream at myself mentally for that, but I refuse to pay any video game console maker for access to peer-to-peer matchmaking.
I can wait until the games I want to come out do during the holiday season. Nintendo made my decision really easy. Hopefully there's a price cut by then too, but if there isn't, it's not the end of the world for me either.
Good on them for removing region locking.

This sounds so...... delusional.
