Commiserations Snake. He played well but Du was too strong.

SFV Grand Finals was seen by almost 54,000 viewers across the globe too so well done to Combo Breaker!

If Capcom were smart they'd have prepared a CFN 2.0 trailer for the weekend with a surprise reveal of Vega's stage. If they were smart...

Almost? How many points does he need.

Acekingoffsuit has been saying 525 would be the threshold, I think? But that's based on last year's results (using this year's points). I like to think closer to 600 would be a real guarantee since tournaments results can vary.

Edit: But maybe it'll be lower because Du and Punk farming points means everyone else can't get as high.

is looking at notes on your phone illegal though?

That is not that uncommon from what I've seen. People look at their notes they made for a character or w/e

Whether Du got coached or not, that was some suspect behavior at the end. They even got into the match and Du backed out again? What was that for except for stalling and disrupting the momentum of the game?

Fresh off the "was the ghost of thuggery past colluding to help Chris?" paranoid speculation being immediately shoved in the garbage, y'all are calling Du and the legitimacy of his win into question...over taking a time out, checking his phone, and changing stages. LOL. Let it go.

Du the Du. Remember when the Japanese owned SF? Shit is getting crazy up in here.

Believe me we are not seeing the best of Japan yet.

look those two young players are not sponsored and they barely travel yet and destroyed some of the best players this morning in Redbull Kumite, and there is more of them there. We are only seeing the old gods who are sponsored and make enough to participate in international tournaments.
It's similar to the US the old players are not doing much, it's the young guys punk,DU,smug...etc who are winning tournaments.

You should, as fighting games are entering a "golden age" of some sort even if the mainstream popularity isn't there like in the past. :] There's plenty of options out there, from solid western FG with great netcode like Killer Instinct and Injustice 2 to anime fighters such as BB central fiction and GG Revelator 2. Classic franchise having newer entries like Street Fighter V, KOF XIV and Tekken 7 which is a return to form (and there's smaller titles like Skullgirls, Arcana Heart, Under Night, etc...) . Let's hope Marvel vs Capcom Infinite can end the year with a bang for the genre. ;)

kind of like when everyone thought youkadon was some kind of wunderkind before he got beat at evo / capcom cup and we learned he was like 30
30 and an existing player; Yukadon turned out to be a new handle for a Japanese player who's been around but no one remembered/was familiar with.

It's been a great weekend for fighting games, pretty much everything was fun as hell this weekend, Combo Breaker being the standout in my opinion. Makes me want to try to go next year.

Bet Nuckledu was thanking his lucky stars that Punk got DQ'd from CB.

I for one salute the up and comer Nemo. I hope he does great things in the future. he could probably do well in marvel too, maybe even beat Fchamp and chris g in an exhibition. He could probably go back in time to beat them in 2012 as well.
