Acekingoffsuit has been saying 525 would be the threshold, I think? But that's based on last year's results (using this year's points). I like to think closer to 600 would be a real guarantee since tournaments results can vary.

Edit: But maybe it'll be lower because Du and Punk farming points means everyone else can't get as high.

You should, as fighting games are entering a "golden age" of some sort even if the mainstream popularity isn't there like in the past. :] There's plenty of options out there, from solid western FG with great netcode like Killer Instinct and Injustice 2 to anime fighters such as BB central fiction and GG Revelator 2. Classic franchise having newer entries like Street Fighter V, KOF XIV and Tekken 7 which is a return to form (and there's smaller titles like Skullgirls, Arcana Heart, Under Night, etc...) . Let's hope Marvel vs Capcom Infinite can end the year with a bang for the genre.
