This is bad if true. If Sony cut the price of the Pro then it's going to be even worse. If it had its very own exclusive games, which really used all of that power, then they would have something to show that makes it obviously worth that extra cash.
However they're going to seriously struggle to convince people that native 4k is worth a difference of potentially over £100 when compared to 4k using checkerboarding. Unless games get given a monumental upgrade by developers, which seems unlikely unless MS have done a specific deal or it's a 1st party game, of which there aren't many, I predeict the difference between Pro titles and Scorpio titles to be relatively small in the eyes of most consumers. This means a price point which is potentially £100 more or even greater than PS4 pro is going to cause issues. If buying a brand new system they're gonna have 4 choices - a PS4 Slim or Xbox One S for essentially the same amount of money, a PS4 Pro for a bit more and some graphical boosts or a Scorpio for quite a lot more and some small graphical boosts over the Pro.
At this price I feel it's going to need exclusive games which can't be done on XB1 for people to think it's worth it. Trouble is, unless MS do a U turn, that isn't going to happen.
