What if this is to mislead us and make us impressed when it's actually 399. What reason would he have to post this now?

Only 5 hours to go so won't bother going through the million reasons why this does/doesn't make sense but why has Geoff tweeted this?

I mean he sure knows a good number of unannounced games+other stuff so why not share what they are today?

Cause its a fake leak probably.. like you say, Geoff doesnt do this stuff.

399$ it is

2013 : Xbox One, the best reason to choose a PS4.
2017 : Xbox Scorpio, the best reason to choose a PS4 Pro.

I hope it is not true. A healthy competitive market is better for the costumers.
eh.. Scorpio will still be the best place to play multiplats on console so i disagree. this thing is for hardcore gamers.

Wow... hopefully it will run the UI faster. Have always gone Day 1 for Microsoft consoles, but will watch this one for a bit and jump in when the right time comes.

Not so much an if, but when.

Microsoft probably wants him to leak this so that everyone can brace for the disappointment when its announced during the conference. Without leaking ahead of time everyone would be like 10x more pissed.

I expected it to be $499. Didn't see how they would make it $399 with the specs they are were claiming.

Lol, that's crazy expensive for the hardware. Now if it had Zen and/or Vega I could understand.

I have my doubts. I still think it will be 399.

Between Jez Corden saying $449, the $399 image robot image link and Keighley saying $499 I was thinking it's gonna be like the Xbox one S with multiple different SKUs based on hard drive size.

Or it's literally $499.

I remember he leaking stuffs in the past... reliable stuffs.

Ao know he is untrustable.

He used to quite a while back but when does he do it recently? Geoff has access to mountains of industry secrets with his connections why randomly leak this now?

Geoff is able to get the interviews and work he does in the industry because his connections and he is reliable not to piss people off. I'm inclined to believe this is straight from MS

lmao shit is DOA in Canada.

Its DoA EVERYWHERE at that price point.

Do people seriously think that things work like this?

Never ceases to amaze me how MS can commit fuck-up after fuck-up and some people here will still try to paint their failures as some kind of brilliant long term game plan.

To paraphrase a Coca-Cola executive; They're not that smart, and they're not that stupid.

Thing is it will sell out through the holiday at $499 to core fans. Then after that it will bomb and they will drop the price. Just early adopter tax so it's probably true.

500???

It's most likely a curve ball for us to act surprised later, cheap but effective tactic against the horde of sheeps. I still think it's 399.99.

Curve ball or not it's certainly a soft-ball to those who are regularly negative towards MS.

Price is $399

"Typical MS tricks. They must think we're stupid!"

Price actually turns out to be $499

"LOL DOA!"

Going to be really fun to read through the aftermath. 😩

$50 price cut by Sony on the Pro and suddenly the Scorpio is a really hard pill to swallow.

Sony has no reason to cut the price of the Pro if the Scorpio is $500. They're already $100 cheaper.

And I don't buy the "this is a trap" stuff. Its gonna be $500. It's what we all should have been expecting, and I think we were expecting up until recently.

The way they have been talking up this thing, I was expecting $599, honestly, even though that would be suicide at retail. $499 up against the PS4 Pro which will likely see deep discounts come holiday season is suicide just the same, though.

Sounds about right for what they are putting in there.

Don't see it being particularly impactful to the market though at that price.

If this is the case, wouldn't be optically the worst idea for Sony to consider a $50 price cut on the pro.

I'm probably in the market for a stronger console in the near-term, $499 is a bit much for me though.

$100 more than its rival, lagging a year behind in release with a much more limited software library?

Is it 2006 again?

Absolutely DOA if true.
