Geoff Keighley: Scorpio rumored to cost $499 (he's right, flawless victory)

I'm sure there is a basis here if MS wanted to.

Perhaps negligence, release of non-public information (not sure if NDAs were involved), etc

if NDAs were involved Geoff wouldn't be leaking this. C'mon son.

Without an NDA, Geoff is under no obligation (especially not legal lmao) to keep MS secrets for them. Get real people.

Maybe is just a marketing trick so we all believe that's 499.99 and then they announce its 399.99 and everyone celebrate XD (?)

Either way Geoff is gonna be "blamed" for one thing or another

My 970/4790k combo still routinely outperforms my Pro. As in, every time

I got the a similar combo (i5 4670k instead of i7) and indeed it usually performs better than the pro (like managing 1440p instead of 1080p for the same game), that's true. Not a huge discrepancy though. PS4 Pro is decent bang for the buck.

I guess I won't have to stay up late waiting for pre-orders to go live at that price point. I'm not terribly surprised though; this was never meant to be a mainstream product.

Seems like a work. I doubt Geoff would leak anything cosidering his professional credibility would be ruined. It really feels like a swerve to make the $399 price even more appealing.

would his credibility be less screwed if he made himself look like a tool to promote xbox ?
i think that greenberg reply is way past clever marketing now.

its either weird marketing or they pissed goeff off for some reason

I'm more upset at Geoff than $499 now, to be honest. You can't spill the beans on what you're rehearsing and then call it a rumour to drum up hype for your show.
