Am I the only one expecting Geoff's E3 show to be cancelled now?

499 is a mistake. i also think those that think it's a plot to reveal a 399 price point are delusional. i could see a $399 version but that's probably the best you can hope for.

microsoft not gonna gain any ground with this, and i'm not sure why you would lower price of the S and then drop something that's twice as much.

Yeah again, an enthusiast product isn't the centerpiece of your entire division like it clearly has been portrayed. You don't hype up the reveal and everything regarding it if you actually viewed it as your Pro equivalent.

E3 is not about the casuals. This event has always catered to the gaming enthusiasts. There hasn't been that much Scorpio push outside the gaming circles.

Microsoft already dabbled with the $499 price point, all for 6 months. We all know how that turned out. (Hint: It was a "premium" product too)

They have to deliver on the software front. I understand Scorpio rightfully should get a lot of attention, but I feel it's been too much of a focus.

Fools are always so certain of themselves, but wiser men so full of doubts.
A year later:

MS: "WE PUT OUT THE MOST POWERFUL CONSOLE HOW COME NO ONE IS BUYING IT TO PLAY OUR PALTRY SERVING OF SOFTWARE?!?!11!?!"

Psst...
What if I told you Microsoft wanted to release the bad news before their conference in order to get it out of the way just like they did with the "24 hour online requirement" before E3 2013?

Oh I have no doubt that is a perfectly reasonable explanation also....

If it is 499 then I think they are going to need a number of exclusive games to show off, because 4k games of 3rd party games won't cut it.
