1. It'll be $499, It's just a set up for people not to get disappointed during the show.
2. It'll be $399, it's just a set up for a "BIGGEST SHOCKER OF THE NIGHT!".

No I fully expect it will be $399. I always kind of have assumed that because they know sales will be shit at $499. Like others, I believe MS went to Geoff and told him to leak the $499 price so they could "shock" everyone at a $399 announcement. Like I said, lame....they want that moment like Sony had when they announced $399 PS4.

You do realize that this is MS' premium console? People are acting as if Xbox One S just got buried and forgotten.

The Ps4 Pro is not going to cover the sales of the regular Ps4. Same thing will happen with the Scorpio, it's an emthusiasts machine for people with 4K TV (which a majority of the consumers do not have.)

Sony didn't have them either, not this efficient and varied at least.. a lot of restructuring was done to compensate the loss of all those exclusives that were a given on PS2 just because it was the most sold console ever.

I have no idea if Microsoft is doing anything about this situation, nor I'm that interested since I'm a pc guy, I just said that the gen is not irrecuperable by any stretch.. but of course Microsoft has to work and work hard, it's not something that happens overnight or by magic.

My remarks regarding exclusives were about internal 1st party 2nd party studios. Not big 3rd party games like GTA, FF and the such the PS2 had on lock.

Yes, a lot of WORK was done to reposition the console - but the magic bullets came from ND, SSM, SP, PD, Sony Japan, GG, MM and others - they created content that gamers couldn't ignore. Not sure MS has that, now that FIFA, SW, D2, CODand RDR are meant to get exclusive marketing deals.

Not sure if you have this option, but I just loaded it up on my laptop, and chromecast it to my TV. Works great.
