Dunno how the Switch comparison holds any water here. The Switch shipped alongside a new Zelda which was quickly hailed as an all-time great.

What the hell is this thing shipping with? Even the things we have in the 'maybe' category don't even come close.

The absurdity of the price in objective terms pales next to the absurdity of that price in a situation where there are no worthwhile exclusives.

Yeah, they could take a page out of Sony's PS3 book, announce a 20GB SKU for 399$ and manufacture 5 of them.

Does the Youtube Samsung APP automatically switch to 4K? The current Xbox stream is at 1080p, when I switch to 4K content it hits 4K in the stats pop up. I'm guessing it either isn't going to be 4K on Youtube, or it will be when the Conference actually begins.

Exactly this. GAF really does live in its own bubble sometimes.

When the msm report the price tomorrow no one is going too mention the 2 hours of speculation pre conference.

That's IMHO what they should focus on.

True - the point is they already had the talent on hand and the good will to entice consumers. You are absolutely spot on about their limited range and that means they have to work harder than what Sony had to make turn the tide and I don't see how they are going to - even with their absurd war chest.

I firmly believe they will announce 399 - the real question is, then what?

I think people were fine with it being the same price as the launch PS4 had been when it came out, with the OG one dropping price, but I don't think too many were particularly blown away by the price. Okay with it would probably be more accurate I think, just like I think most would take a $399 Scorpio as "that's fine".

plus I just upgraded my PC and don't want to have any remote thoughts about wanting to sell my Xbone for what would be a $700cdn Scorpio
