Spider-Man E3 2017 Gameplay - PS4 - 2018

Not gonna lie it felt like a sequel to the beenox games with virtually nothing new besides 2017 technology.

The QTE slogfest killed my hype too.

Blergh.

At this point the only way they can hype me again is by showing me Peter Parker unmasked and having Peter sections.

I think it's mostly the way the qtes are implemented that bugs me. The big green circle is more like something you'd expect in an arcade game. Also good qtes offer a certain level of interactivity, I didn't see that here

That gameplay, those animations...

I think it's going to be amazing, but I'm with some of you about the QTEs. I still appreciate QTEs, but that was a little too extended of a sequence of QTEs. A great portion of that could have been more manually piloted by the player.

I love spiderman but fuck. I thought this would be like ultimate spiderman gameplay. Looking like QTE-Man, hella scripted

I had the same thought. Outside of image quality, I was like 'boy he fights and moves and animates and the UI just like every other Spiderman game'

the fighting and stalking part looked aiight. very arkham-like though but I love those games so whatever.

but I loved the webswinging, and yeah there are way too many QTEs but at the same time the presentation of them and what Spiderman is doing is really cool, hopefully we don't get too many though.

for sure buying this, looks like the best Marvel game in a long time. and I love that its Spiderman in its own continuity.

but man...Rocksteady really changed the game huh, this felt almost 1:1 to the Arkham series during some moments.

So am i missing something or are what people refering to qtes are being mistaken for button prompts? Because the combat looks arkham ish minus the difference in attack prompts...

In any case: combat looks fluid, stealth gameplay, environment takedowns.... 100% sold

I thought this looked really great, even with QTEs. I'm excited for it - hoping this is like the starter/intro/tutorial area and you get more freedom in the actual game. Either way. Insomniac has my sword after all their Ratchet & Clank games. I trust them.

The QTE section didn't really bother me in fact I thought that whole part was cool as fuck. Game looks amazing I'm just sad it's out next year.

He's a pretty swell guy in my books anyway.
It looked like Arkham, and all those QTEs...

This was a disappointing end to the conference. Also 2018? I thought it was in development for a long time?

WHAT @ people saying the combat looks bad. Looks fluid and acrobatic as fuck. Plus the graphics are insane.

Honestly the conference was pretty underwhelming but this was fucking brilliant.

I need this game.

I'd much rather have QTEs than a cutscene, and I really don't know how you could do some of the stuff they showed with straight, 100% player-controlled gameplay.

I think a lot of you are bitter about the conference as a whole lol

The QTEs were cool to me, honestly. There were a lot of them, but it was a huge setpiece. I don't think it would be that common in normal gameplay.

Looks awesome. Was hoping for a SURPRISE 2017 release date. Nothing from Sony for the rest of the year that I can't play on PC that I'm interested in.

Spiderman, God of War and Days Gone we're definitely standouts of the show.

They're complaining about set pieces, doesn't make any sense

This looks phenomenal. QTEs will be inevitable in some set pieces, just like in Uncharted games for instance. Excellent stuff, Insomniac!

There seemed to be a bit of a negative reaction to this in the Sony conference thread, but only because people were expecting more out of the conference, and all of a sudden it ended.

I think you guys are worrying too much about the QTE's.

These are obviously set piece moments, you can't expect it to go any other way.

I'm sure there will be plenty of non-qte segments as well.
Also I assume the open world will be free to traverse with qtes

This was good. This was really, really good. It has a lot of Arkham elements (I was expecting that), I dig the art style and mechanics seems great. Hype increases.

I was with it until the QTE-fest at the end. Yeah it's a technical and visual showcase and really displays the hard work the devs have done but it does nothing for be in terms of immersion. Hopefully that can be kept to a minimum in the final product. I want to feel the level of control over Spidey that I do with Link in BOTW. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the game.

Looks alright. Wanna see more combat though. I also hope they add some depth or mechanics to the swinging instead of just tapping a button. If I recall correctly SM2 had this cool momentum mechanic you had to time in order to swing right. Was a lot of fun.
