I love exploration in video games. I don't love cumbersome traversal mechanics. I don't love fetch quests. I don't love odd controls (namely the position of the jump button) and frustratingly stopping and starting fights because my weapons are as brittle as glass.
interesting to love exploration in games but still hate botw, considering that exploration is its primary selling point. the developers behind the game have even given numerous panels/talks on how they went about designing the world to appeal to your sense of discovery. i feel like botw was the first open world game since morrowind to really nail the feeling of being lost in a world and making you use literal surroundings to find your own path.
also the traversal mechanics point seems odd considering its a game designed around literally allowing you to go anywhere at any time. i want a paraglider in every open world game forever. unless you're specifically referring to the climbing, which yeah, it has some problems until you maximize stamina/late game ability that helps you move faster. you get to a point where you can jump up mountains in seconds and it feels pretty damn good.
your other points are fair and i have seen them crop up as the main cons people have against the game, just hadn't seen the other two listed above ever. interested to hear more details
