Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has gone gold

Will the game be functional without a patch and UbiSod account?

Any retail boxes going around with added warning labels?

Awful song in the first trailer and questionable protagonist aside, game looks extremely good.

£50 for a side scroller though? Fuck off.

People in 2024 really don't know that Prince of Persia literally started out as a side scrolling platformer game.

Unrelated historical tidbits: The Persians, where modern Iran is today, were not black, were not from Africa, and spoke the unique Indo-European language Persian, today commonly called Farsi.

Mechner seems pleased with it returning to side scrolling.

Nice. I’ve kinda changed my mind and I may get this day one because I miss PoP and Metroidvanias are my jam.
Also I want the Warrior Within outfit because it was my favorite of the Sands Trilogy. Don’t care if I stand alone with that opinion.

Still can’t decide between Switch and Xbox though. I’m hoping the Switch version doesn’t have significant visual downgrades to reach that 1080p/60. Gonna play the demo for both on the 11th and decide.

Also; I know they scrapped and started over on the remake, but honestly I’d probably get a Sands of Time trilogy remaster collection day one (even better if it included ‘08 and Forgotten Sands as well, but I’ll settle for the original trilogy if I have to). I still have the GC versions of the trilogy, ‘08 on 360, and FS on the Wii, though I never finished the last one.

I’ve got way too much great shit to play through. A UbiSoft game is the last thing I’d buy at launch,

It’ll be $10 in no time.
