Somebody for the love of god give me an exploration RPG in this environment.

A sequel to Risen with these graphics.........

The Witcher 3 isn't all that far off.

witcher 3 looks a whole lot better imo. More diversity in the colour and variety of plants but also has the architecture of towns/cities. If you just care about the realistic forest trees though I guess this game looks better? i dont know.

It is comparatively somewhat lacking in the foliage density department, though, which is where this game shines.

Game looks great. Hunting at night time is a bitch though and the game is very grindy.

How is this compared to something like the old Deer Hunter 2005 game from a gameplay perspective? I had that and loved it. It was super relaxing and it was surprisingly exciting when you finally did land a buck. Even the online play was alright.

I've added this to my Steam wishlist anyway. I'll get it as soon as it's on sale.

The map is huge as well. I just spent the afternoon climbing to the summit of mount leviathan, lol. It would have been quicker but it took a while to find a traversable route.

I know this is from a while ago but try this if you want to give it a go

Not sure how different it is from Call of the Wild but it should give you an idea of the game

Wow that's uhhh... amazing looking graphics for an unknown game. Where did it come fomr?!?

It's been around for LONG time like probably 8ish years? theHunter came out forever ago and they've been updating it since with some spinoffs including a dinosaur hunting game.

I THINK this just a fully unlocked version of theHunter but idk I was looking into it when I saw this thread come up again. Not sure exactly how it differs from the FTP game.

Edit: Yeah nearly 7 years according to the release history

It really begs to be played at higher resolutions, since there doesn't seem to be any anti-aliasing options. Some of the best environmental lighting I've seen in a game.

Since you are playing, do you know the differences between this and Classic? I found a video here but it was during beta so it's mostly speculation.

Ok, I think I figured it out.

Classic has:

http://thehunterinfo.weebly.com/animal-species.html

30 animal species

http://thehunterinfo.weebly.com/huntable-areas.html

9 hunting reserves

http://thehunterinfo.weebly.com/weapons.html

52ish weapons (by my quick count)

plus you can get hunting dogs

and includes subscription fees and microtransactions

Whereas CotW has:

How many huntable species are there?

The release version of the game will include 12 huntable species:

Red deer
Fallow deer
Roe deer
Red fox
Wild boar
European bison
Whitetail deer
Moose
Elk
Black bear
Coyote
Blacktail deer

How many weapons will be available in theHunter: Call of the Wild?

There will be a total of 14 weapons included in the release version of the game:

.223 Docent
Ranger .243
.270 Huntsman
Razorback Lite CB-60
Hawk Edge CB-70
Whitlock Model 86
Coachmate Lever .45-70
Caversham Steward 12G
Cacciatore 12G
Focoso 357
.44 Panther Magnum
Rhino 454
Rangemaster 338
7MM Regent Magnum

and has two huntable zones

with potentially more being added through free and paid onetime DLCs

so Classic certainly has more stuff but also will milk you.I would imagine for most folks, CotW is going to cover your hunting needs. And then if you get deep into it, you can always go nuts in classic. :p

That said give CotW some damn puppers!

I'm getting about 80-90 fps at 1080p and ultra settings on my 1070. I also just want to say this is one of the most relaxing games I've ever played.

Whew. Looks stellar. Be sweet if someone made a survival mod where you have no guns and need to eat, sleep, fight off bears with your teeth, etc.

Or just let you run around as a squirrel or something and soak in the vast wilderness.

All the pictures are of vistas / foliage / areas - is there a screen-shot of actual in-game w/ your weapon out / wildlife?

Just got this game for Xbone last weekend after randomly coming across a trailer. Such a great game! Surprised nobody seems to talk about it or that there is no OT.

Been playing a lot of RDR2 on PC recently and really getting into the hunting / fishing stuff, What are the hardware requirements for this game and has it also got fishing?

I had a roommate in college who played hunting games. It was oddly relaxing to watch him play.

I'm going to get RDR2 for PC soon and will give this a go. I have never actually been hunting in my life.

This is pretty cheap right now on PS store. Also the DLC are dirt cheap. What are the must have map DLCs?
