Nobody ruins my family vacation but me...and maybe the boy!
Come on R*, we need some Britney Spears in there. Nothing like listening to "Oops I did it again" while mowing down pedestrians.

^ WTF

This is the early 1990's we're talking about.

If they do not somehow include Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince - Boom Shake the Room, I will be so sad.

Minotauro

I'm probably in the minority here but I'd really like to see Marilyn Manson's "Misery Machine" included...it's lyrics and sound fit perfectly.

I'd be even happier if they don't include that crap. Keep it real, keep it gangsta, none of this joker rap shit

WasabiKing: Doesn't matter anyway since they are on an entirely different label, i.e. Zomba/Jive > Sony Records.

Anyway, grabbed a little quick list of known mainstream music that I'm guessing may or may not appear.

2Pac
Dr Dre
U2
Nirvana (sketchy with the whole Love vs UMG feud, any Nirvana fanatics care to enlighten me on things now?)
Ice Cube
Beastie Boys
Nine Inch Nails
Guns 'n Roses
Boyz II Men
Weezer
Snoop Doggy Dog
LL Cool J
The Cure
Metallica (not too sure on this subject as of yet, something to do with certain countries??)
Smashing Pumpkins
RUN-DMC
Bon Jovi (yes.. I know)
Fatboy Slim

I used to play the original GTA on PC with Ill Communication in the CD Drive. It fit the game perfectly - get into the Porsche and the fat bassline of Root Down kicks in. Great memories.

i belive that GTA will the 'period' OST that most artists will not pull their tracks from even if they disagree with the subject material.
(unlike, say, Whitney Houston with American Psycho)

I'd love to hear some "Summertime" to cruise to on the LA freeways...be the perfect compliment to Dre's "Let Me Ride".

Speedpop: Yeah, but if they really want it, they can get it. Partnership won't be exclusive IMO, unless it's stated...

Also, that list is too current. If you were to look up the acts they had in 89-95, there would be much more hip-hop/gangsta rap tracks.

I'm not buying this game.

EDIT: While they're at it, doesn't the WWE have a radio talk show? They could put something on involving the wrestlers... like have Vince McMachon get beat up by Stone Cold over the air. :D

Check this out
The sun went down when I hit Slausson
on my way to the strip, now I'm just flossin
Checkin my rearview, cause niggaz they will do
jack moves, black fools cause I smack fools
Try to set me up for a two-eleven
Fuck around and get caught up in a one-eight-seven
but I don't represent no gangbang
Some niggaz like lynchin but I just watch them hang
so on, and so-on, why don't you let me roll on
I remember back in the dayz when I used to have to get my stroll on
Didn't nobody wanna speak; now everybody
peepin out they windows when they hear me beatin up the streets
Is it Dre? Is it Dre?
That's what they say, every single motherfuckin day, yo
But I ain't trippin I'm just kickin it
While my deez keep spinnin and these hoes keep grinnin I'll be
(Rollin in my six-fo') With everybody sayin
Swing down, sweet chariot stop and, let me ride
hell yeah
Swing down, sweet chariot stop and, let me ride
with all the niggaz sayin
Swing down, sweet chariot stop and, let me ride
Hell yeah
Swing down, sweet chariot stop and, let me ride'

This is disturbing. Why the hell is this guy waving his hand like a fool? Everytime I come into a thread and see this I can't help but cringe.

Wrestler, who's character is a white rapper, and motto is "You can't see me" while he does the hand wave thing.

I gotta find the thread where everyone was speculating, but this game's soundtrack will not rock without NWA or Ice Cube. And again, if someone can pull up a list of gangsta rap acts on the Interscope label in 1989-1995, you can make your pick there.

Isn't that the guy that did that nintendo-freestyle for Kobunheat? John Cena or something.

I don't know how cool Interscope would be with putting songs off of NIN's Pretty Hate Machine in the game, considering TVT/Universal is technically the company that put it out.

I'd consider buying this if Sonic Youth was in it.

if they have ice cube- today was a good day, 2pac - to live and die in la or some of his other songs, warren g- regulate, this dj and do you see, dove shack - summertime in the lbc, celly cel- it's going down tonight, and some of those other west coast hits, i'm going to be in heaven. early to mid 90's was the best rap music imo.

Regulate needs to be on there, simply because IMO, it's the best rap song ever.

This is nostalgic. I remember back when I actually liked rap. And every kid who wasn't a douche in school had to have the regulate CD, and that double disc Tupac CD.

I think I started to hate rap when puffy, ma$e and master p started to get big. Espically Master P, he always sounded like he was constipated t o me.

Something about that old westcoast rap is incomparable IMO... It was just too smooth and all the words seemed to fit. They didn't look like they were trying too hard in being witty in a song or they didn't just throw some bullshit together. Brings back a hell of a lot of good memories.. Damn.
