Looking at that shotgun pic Byrnes posted, I like that they really improved the look of metal in this game. Looks like a heavy motherfucker who really delivers the pain. Previous games' weapons mostly looked like made of plastic or cardboard (with some exceptions like the Halo 2 BR).

Agreed, the metal shaders on past Halo games have a left a bit to be desired.. it seems its a ton better this time around.

This thing:

Big, powerful, slow handgun with no scope. Sort of like a close-range sniper or a long-range shotgun, depending on how you think about it. Depth of clip/ammo suggests something in that bracket.

I have to say, for all my concerns about Multiplayer, hot damn are the visuals good. Every time there's an image dump - even small clipped images - it really highlights how well 343 has nailed the look, some design elements aside. Loving the bold colors, unobscured by grain filters.

I'm already blown away so I can't imagine this. You guys have already surpassed my wildest expectations. Who would have thought that Halo would reclaim the title of best looking game on the system. Believe me, I was very weary when this was first announced, but the visuals and sound alone has made me a believer.

It's always a shame when beautifully rendered cutscenes are marred by terrible compression.
