Think I finally got a team that I feel fine with!

Zero/Dante/Akuma

Zero because I love him. (Had)
Dante for that Assist. (Jam)
Akuma for his playstyle, assist and level 3 xfactor comebacks. (Tatsu)

Once I finish off with a rekkoha, I need to find a way to bring dante in to deal more damage, so far I just dhc into DT, super jump into S, then volcano-beehive twice and then super.

The dhc ability with these guys suck because rekkoha fucks it up but oh well. I'm liking this team so far.

GGs Nert. I can't go anymore, I'm salty as hell that I either can't adapt to either lag (did you see all those combo drops? And how about Viper who just stood there looking pretty for guest appearances...) or just your Tron team enough to say I did well against you. God I suck at this and I really don't know why.

Good shit with those games though, Tron's drill and Arthur's daggers have a fucking HUGE amount of hitstun/advantage to themselves.

Vergil might be the only non super armor character in the game who can stand in place and press buttons against everything Haggar does. At least Dante has to jump in order to compete with the pipe's range.

You can't ever do respectable damage with DT. I've tried. All you do is give the opponent free meter until you do another hyper. Just lightning loop instead, it isn't hard.

I hear you on the lag comments. I've played a lot of ranked games so I'm probably just used to it, but anything that requires high execution is still rough (I dropped pretty much everything that I tried to do with Joe, for example).

Don't get discouraged, though. Your Viper had trouble getting in on Tron, but I saw a lot of impressive stuff with Dante and Strider (the crystal otg into Vajra assist was really flashy). Most of the Striders that I see online just hit level 3 X-Factor and Ouroboros and dash back and forth, so it took me a while to adjust to the legitimate combos and setups that you were going for.

Oh that sucks. I would loop but that shit to me is so hard. I use a stick and my stick isn't tight enough to do exact motions. I'll try to do it and then next thing u know, a QCF comes out instead when I clearly did a Shoryu, It's always like that with my damn madcatz sticks...

Well, you could try to normal jump LL (aka the proper LL). It's a bit weird at first, but not only is it complete autopilot once you get the muscle memory, it even does more damage because you get all the hits of lightning every time.

In fact, you could consistently LL back in vanilla by normal jumping because it keeps them much higher off the ground than doing TKs.

Infinites is the new hotness that's why my vote goes to it. I do however like "Finishing Showers and a chance of Lightning Loops". But again it's a Zero reference and we already have a Zero reference.

Grind other areas, do side quests and start killing stuff for more money/loot/exp. Also you probably want to experiment with various elemental guns to see what is effective against the bosses. Other than that it boils down to FPS fundamentals, strafe, melee, grenade, back pedal etc.
If I had some arrows and the first boss was Chris G this game would be a piece of cake.

While I was doing a little self-diagnosis on my play style here to pass the time, I realize that I don't really have any setups and instead prefer characters or a plan that allows me to cover my neutral excellently (whether in theory or execution). I play excessively defensively waiting for people to make mistakes before attempting a punish and trying to collect info on it, probably from being conditioned in other things to do as much. I'm no good at actually applying long strings of pressure to someone either.

I feel like if I can fix either the pressuring or setups angle, I might break through to the next level.
