In terms of console comparisons, not really.
The eDRAM was far faster than PS3's memory. The eSRAM is significantly slower than PS4's memory.

Yeah, it should be interesting. Xbox One only has 5GB of slow RAM for games, while PS4 has 7GB of fast RAM.

I read that Xbox One will be utilizing cloud to load off some calculations. But that doesn't sound like a good idea at all.

Also i'd wager a heavily modified version of "windows" 8. A lot of the back end (kernel and above) are probably going to be recycled from the windows 8 code base.

- PS4 has 8 gigs of GDDR5 ram, Xbox One has 8 gigs of DDR3 ram that is 3x slower than GDDR5. To offset that, XO GPU has 32megs of onboard cache that is 60% faster than DDR3.

- PS4 GPU is 50% more powerful at same clock speeds, and there is a very high chance that PS4 OS will require less processing power/ram to work.

All in all, XB has more complicated architecture, with slower hardware, and beefier OS. Sony clearly aimed to create GAME console, MS aimed to create cheaper ENTERTAINMENT box.

The PS4 officially has a 50% more powerful GPU and drastically better RAM solution.

The Xbox One tech talks elucidated us on the facts of the One's GPU - from what I heard there, 1,2 TFLOPS are pretty much official at this point: And according to these statements, the posters [Man] assertions are true and 50% more raw GPU power is what the PS4 will have over the One in addition to a much better memory system.

I doubt that will translate into huge differences in games though.

less procesing power is arguably already out since killzone sf slides showed 6 cores just like durango rumor, and i believe ps4 will also reserve 3gb/and or the reserves will end up similar in the end (durango has a gb in limbo according to interference etc)

you're going to have to be more clear than that...

768 shaders was confirmed i think, and honestly i'm not expecting a clock bump much but one could have happened.

basically 1.2tf may be somewhat likely but is not confirmed afaik.

More or less for GPU. They confirmed the 768ops/clock, which is the same number VGleaks reported. Meaning that they were correct on GPU (just as they were on everything else) unless the GPU clock changed. 3GB for OS was confirmed by Game Informer.

He was not talking about CPU, but GPU. I also seriously doubt Sony would reserve 3GB for OS. Why would they? So they assure they don't have more ram than XOne?

He'd even jump on things that I'm quite sure he knew (I don't think he was stupid) were impossible, like believing the "100% efficiency" claim, while also entertaining the dual processor claim...or repeating the "Xenon as supplementary processor" rumor, when it's pretty obvious that mixing PowerPC/X86 would make the system tricky to optimize to say the least.

So as much as he protests that it wasn't his fault, it really is.
