Good timing Rockstar*, the game releases just when I finish my Holidays.

But damn I'm so hyped, still haven't seen nothing about the game but the screenshots, it takes guts to survive all those streams, it really feels the mouse hovers there by itself, must.. control...

I'm betting worst case scenario if they're currently making a next gen version as well (on top of readying GTA Online). I wouldn't surprised one bit to see a PS4/XBOne/PC simultaneous release in March/April.

But sure, let's say 2 months. I, personally, can't even wait that long. At all. These last 2 days are bad enough. I'd rather double dip in that 60 days than wait.

There's absolutely no way they release the PS4/XBone versions that soon. Expect it closer to a full year after the PS3/360 release. It will be a different 'version' of the game, like a GTA V 'Episodes from Los Santos' or something.

I, personally, expect the PC version soon. Much sooner. I have an inclination that we'll see it before the end of the year.

Question then: if they do that, when could they release a new game? They tend to release a game a year, so there could very well be a next gen game from them next year...

I don't see why they'd sit on the next-gen versions for so long if the architectures are closer to PC this time around. ~6 months is enough time for people to get past the "Ugh, I should've never bought the last gen versions" reaction, but enough time to release with a GTA Online DLC pack or expansion. Unless they literally haven't even started them yet, which I highly doubt.

But sure, we could see the PC version sooner. That wouldn't surprise me either. Regarding that though, none of the other 3D GTA PC ports have come out within 2 months sooooooo, yeah. Time will tell.

According to Google Maps the 'National Distribution Centre' is only an hour and a half from where I live. So hopefully they shift it to our local depot this evening or overnight so I have it delivered tomorrow.

I'm not expecting a new game from Rockstar in the first year of next-gen consoles. It was Rockstar presents Table Tennis for PS3/360, right? I don't imagine they'll release a Red Dead, Bully, Manhunt, Agent anytime soon. Midnight Club is probably the best bet.

It also seems that GTA V is going to be their last PS3/360 gen title. You'll probably see their first next-gen title in 2015.

I wouldn't put it past Rockstar to delay any next-gen version. 6 months seems too soon to tell people you want them to upgrade.

As for the PC version, I look at Max Payne 3 being on PC near day one. And Red Dead Redemption never coming to PC. I expect a PC release relatively soon, even if another Rockstar studio is working on it. It could be 6 months, like GTA IV, but that didn't seem as well planned as GTA V has been.

I wouldn't expect a new R* game in the first 2 years.

I can see a release of GTA 5 for the new consoles

So now that the PC version seems certain (was ever any doubt? NO!) will others wait for the definitive version?
Yes, I'll wait because I don't have a console and because I don't want to play GTA with a controller (keyboard/mouse is the way it's meant to be played :p)

Yeah, think we'll be in for a bit of a wait sadly for the next R* game.

Understandably so I suppose. GTA V is gigantic, plus we've had a R* game every year since 2010. Or 2008 I guess if the IV episodes count for 2009.

I don't wanna "skate skate" I more just wanna casually travel around the city on a skateboard. (Kind of like real life, I live close enough to the city that a bike is too close but walking just a tad annoyingly far)

Fair enough, I just worry when someone uses the term "real life" in the same sentence as "Grand Theft Auto".

My copy is in beautiful Hertfordshire now

Enjoy the vista baby, for a long time all you're gonna see will be my Ps3's disc tray.

On another note, why do you think Rockstar keeps on using fake names for their cities? It's not like Los Santos is a cartoony sketch like SA was in GTA 1 or even in San Andreas, it seems closer to a full-fledged, faithful depiction of LA at this point. Same goes for Liberty City in IV.

My Amazon order is at Royal Mail's Princess Royal distribution center. Considering that's in London and I live just 5 miles away am I likely to get it tomorrow?

i accidentally read spoiler about the total missions

i feel dirty :(

The amount of missions? Perhaps the most mild spoiler you can get. Trust me, you won't be keeping count. I imagine like GTA IV, you won't see the ending coming until a few missions beforehand.

Damn excited. Tuesday is gonna be rough though, working from home so very little standing between me and the game come delivery ... well maybe clients.

Mmm...tomorrow is going to feel like an extra slow day I think. My friend and I pre-ordered our copies at our local GAME but can't head out to pick them up until Tuesday afternoon so no midnight launch for us.

Very excited though, can't wait to finally get my hands on it!

(Also - hello! I've been lurking for a while and just got my account activation.)

:)

I think the dangers of that thread are fairly exaggerated. Admittedly I haven't been in there more than a couple of time and I haven't spent a great deal of time reading many of the posts themselves, but skimming it for the gifs and screens is glorious.
