If you can only see yourself playing killzone from that list for "several months", than I guess you have a very specific taste. I suppose you play what... 6 games/year?

Because really. It's a bunch of games, in a bunch of genres... And it's like every week a new one is announced.

To me, saying it's like the PS3 launch sounds absurd really.

Well, that's just unfortunate. I guess I'll have to feed my next-gen racing jones on Forza and play indies on the PS4 until it comes out.

How does this even happen? People were talking how MS got caught off guard by Sony and had to launch earlier then expected yet they have a lot more games ready for launch.

Why were you not this way over the past few years when Microsoft published tons of smaller exclusives on XBLA? I think it was you that was very critical of Microsoft abandoning the "core gamer" these last few years. But now things are different, right? :p

I am making a comparison to a game that does not look particular good either, and people here would make a huge deal out of it. Neither Ryse or Drive Club have looked half way decent. Games will struggle to get a 70 meta critic

People are pimping up how awesome Drive Club is now, and how it is a AAA title and this and that, because its likely delayed. The exact same would have happened to Ryse if this happened to that game, despite it being obvious that the game does not look good at all.

Agreed, if possible, I think this would be the best solution. Give us a demo & take time polishing the final product.

Not enough. I need an unproven racing franchise that sits between sim & arcade in a launch line-up, because reasons.

Btw, just seen your post about Resogun, feel the same way. That *would* be a blow.

Damn, what a shame. While DriveClub wasn't going to be a day one game for me I was still really looking forward to the PS+ edition. I fucking knew something was up when we had not seen any actual racing footage with multiple cars and it felt like we knew nothing about this game, how many cars & tracks, what kind of a career mode there is, what's the online component like?... So many questions were unanswered a month before the release.

Well, this better be good and polished whenever it comes out.

Evo has a history of turning on the burner in the last couple of months. Usually they succeed, but it looks like they couldn't work their magic this time around.

That's me. Yes, I was critical of Microsoft's lineup because they had a massive drop off, and that was all because of their focus on KINECT, not indies.

And there is something fundamental to that issue - it's an interface problem. The technology is simply shit for games and ruins most games. That too has nothing to do with this conversation we're having about indies.

Sorry to disappoint you.

The amount of Drive-Bys is comparable to any other XB1 thread. If we can take away anything from this, let it be that NeoGAF is balanced. And distributes it's feelings evenly and accordingly.

Why would they launch a bunch of 1st party exclusives when GTA5, COD, AC4, BF4, Sports titles, PS3 exclusives are out/coming out in the same time period? That's beyond stupid from a business standpoint when you don't need to launch a ton of 1st party exclusives to sell the high demand console in the first 3 months.

What about Drive Club is so bad? Except for the title. I hate the freaking title. You have "Forza", Gran Turismo" "Dirt" "motor storm" and then you have DRIVE CLUB.

Yeah. I mean, XB1 only has one first-party retail launch title exclusive. BUT it has three second party games, and Sony has none. The important metric is that there are two exclusive retail titles for PS4 at launch now, and five for XB1 (Forza, KI, DR3, Ryse, and that terrible looking Ubi fighting game).

Well if this pans out, it just means holding out until next year instead of getting both a Xbone and a PS4.

These kinds of delay's would be so much easier to take with BC.

Actually, with this delay and Titanfall not hitting until next year... I can't wait for both.

Exclusives aren't made for software sales, they are meant to push hardware.

Wasn't it about the same for vita? And most consoles for that matter? The competition isn't exactly waving around a million first party titles.

Even though I agree with you that there should be more, you gotta remember Sony did not abandon the PS3.
Actually, 2013 might end up as one of the PS3's strongest exclusives year. They also have Vita. I believe it is hard to juggle between development for 3 plataforms.

But you are right. There should be more exclusives.
