Look at all of the videos from everyone else that isn't DF. There's no way you can really think that the Xbox One looks better than the PS4.
I think watching the game in motion is more telling than static images.

For all the noise that was made in here about how big the difference is going to be, the actual results are rather what I expected: Negligible.
But hey that's just me, because I'm really not impressed by the difference at hand here.

What more comparison did you need? It's literally running with less effects, a lower FPS and a lower resolution. The only difference outside of that is DF fucking up the IQ.

In this instance, all that matters are the screenshots, even if it's all TV settings or whatever, I think the Xbone version looks better. In any case, the previous murmurs of the disparity were greatly exaggerated.

if I were getting it i'd get it for pc I must admit as it's top overall but once I have all consoles i'm likely to get ps4 versions for best overall iq, either for their exclusives and probably xb for online depending how it turns out and what friends are playing.

That's crazy how dark the XB1 contrast is. How the hell can you even SEE the differences with shots that dark! Those night shots its almost impossible.
Seriously, what is going on here? Either MS/EA deliberately set the contrast on this capture footage so dark to hide the visual gap (likely), or DF did.

My opinion? It isn't at all like how some folks are interpreting this. It was just teething problems on their end. To be honest, it's getting a bit tiresome criticizing DF, like I, and others have been doing.
Leadbetter, I'm presuming is their lead writer, but he wasn't assigned this, and it's no use suggesting that there was good reason not to let him take on the first big comparison of next gen. You can argue that it was better for their credibility to let him take a back step, but it might also have been a scheduling conflict.
What is clear is DF is losing more and more credibility, and gaffers gaining more and more credibility. We kept hearing about balance, and insane memory bandwidth, and more balance, DF kept coming to report this. And each time, another gaffer, whether it was brainstew or Durante, or a whole host of others, would knock it down.
And now we have launch game numbers backing gaffers.
These are just pcs with middling gpus, and notebook cpus, super-charged console variants, but it appears, that at least in this case, performance differences are in the expected ball park. No special sauce. No nothing.
Having said that, if anyone does prefer the xb1 version over the ps4 version, or the ps4 version, over high end pc version, that's great. If you're happy, finally seeing close to retail comparisons, with the product, you're buying, then that is ultimately what matters.
But enough with the balance, already. And the cloud. And the special sauce. Either prove your case, with numbers, metrics, objective analysis, or just stahp.
I'm sure DF will do this too. And they'll figure out a way to kidnap blim and get him to work gamersyde magic. IGN, Youtube etc. They're so not ready for this launch.

After catching up with screens and various videos I'll say again - both PS4 and Xbox One single-player look close. However it's apparent that ps4 is the better of the two.

Maybe take a photo in the dark at a 45 degree angle with a webcam of a TN panel on which the jpg is shown, then upload that to tinypic , print out the tinypic image, take a stencil of that, wipe your ass with the stencil and look at the mark that left on your bottom in the reflection on the back of a spoon!

The technical disparity isn't exaggerated, it's producing 50% more pixels, and it's running at a better framerate.
The PS4's GPU is about 55% better, and the result is about 55% better, exactly what it should be.
I shouldn't have made my post and edited them. Had a long work day today and just got off my shift. I clearly didn't have the time to fully read the thread (no excuse for not reading all the OP). I'm tired, and shouldn't be making posts without fully understanding. I watched the videos and expressed how I felt.

I have to say, even knowing that these are launch titles, the performance of both of them is pretty disappointing. I was just flipping through the screens in this post, and you see a good amount of removed geometry in the distance even on the PS4 version. This better be some serious teething issue.
An upscaled game captured with broken gamma, no less.
so were going to ignore the 50%+ resolution, better framerate, better effects (including effects that just dont exist on one console), the fact that most of the "sharpness" comes from gamma problems, and the BANANAS aliasing issues on the Xbone??...

To be honest I initially thought it odd that the XBOne version appeared sharper and more colorful. On my smallish phone screen it even looked okay compared to PS4. But then I noticed the jaggies... And it didn't take long for others to figure out what was going on with the IQ.

Posted before. Even at 720p, frame rate is not holding well. It is dropping well below 40.

The first shot the PS4 clearly wins, but on the second you've got a choice between too much contrast or a soft picture. I prefer the one with less AA in terms of seeing the detail, it's particularly obvious on the electricity pylons and the stitching on the blue seat to the right.

Xbox One looks... darker? IMO Xbox has a better lighting but PS4 has less jaggies.
