I need to vent/whine again a little about the CIS/RU situation.
So, this new cool game called X: Rebirth came out today, it's been a long awaited amazing game, that's supposed to take away all of my free time, till I saw this.
Let me point out some of the things that are wrong on the picture above.
First of all - I live in a small eastern europe country called Estonia, we're in the European Union, the currency we use in our daily lives is Euros. We definitely are not currently occupied by Russia and we have never been classified as a CIS country, ever.
Now that's out of the way, just look at the price of the game, 49.99 Euros or 5% of the average monthly salary (before tax) here. That's the very same price that the "real" Europeans get, or a whole 12 Euros more than the americans pay for this game. And yet, for the money we pay, we get the game that wont be runnable outside of this "CIS zone" - proof is right here. Going to that link you can easily see that the game is restricted to those select countries - what a privilege. If you look closer, you can see that the price for the game according to SteamDB is 799 Rubles in Russia/CIS, which is really about 18.8, only about 31.2 Euros more than the extragavant price I am "privileged" to pay.
All in all, what I wanted to say is that fuck you Egosoft for the scam you are running.

Some companies seem to have a really large hard-on about certain territories. Which is understandable in case of Australia (because, man, fuck those spiders, sharks and dingos), but for former Warsaw Pact countries is really weird.

The 3 former Soviet Union non-CIS states all seem to run into similar issues with being lumped into the RU/CIS region. Steam support was able to deal with region locking issues previously so might be worth contacting them detailing the issue.
I so wholeheartily wish regions would leave dd space for good. Not only it's stupid and doesn't make sense, region locking is evil.
While we are at it, I was always wondering, what's the point for online selling companies to make all currency conversion for themselves and using rates they take from the sky.
Wouldn't it make more sense to charge in currency that company is operating in and leaving conversions to our local banks. Not only that is miles simple and makes more sense, it's convenient for everyone. So, why complicate things and make people unhappy?
While we are at it, I was always wondering, what's the point for online selling companies to make all currency conversion for themselves and using rates they take from the sky.

I was able to beat Magma Worm in Risk of Rain but the remaining enemies killed me. ;_;
So far I'm enjoying it, the idea that as the time pass harder the game becomes is interesting, I'm digging the enemies visuals and the plethora of items available. I don't have any idea how to unlock the other classes so I may look in a guide if I'm struggling to do it.
The music is incredible good.

It makes perfect sense for the companies who want to price gouge the fuck out of Australia and Japan.
There is actually a consumer-friendly reason for this. A lot of people's banks will charge a fee for transactions made in a foreign currency. I don't remember what I have to pay off the top of my head, but it's over 3% with some minimum charge. Having done it both ways, I have always ended up paying more with the "official" conversion rate plus that fee than I would have if I'd taken the conversion rate offered by individual companies like PayPal.
Yeah, the only reason I bought it is because I know egosoft is great at supporting games after release.
If it has commandline support, try adding path to the ROM you're launching in the parameters.

Grid view is the way to go. everyone was right.
It's just ePSXe but i'll check.
That's why I said region locking is evil.
I'm pretty sure that even 3% fee is way less than conversions where $=€

It'll even scrape for images to use in big picture mode/grid view.
If it makes you feel any better, Risen 2 and Dead Island are horrid. Saints Row 2 is pretty much unplayable on pc regardless of your machine.
Saints Row 3 and Metro 2033 were the only good games out of that bundle and they are probably going to be extremely cheap during the autumn/winter sales.

Your SR2 performance perspective is about 4 years out of date.
Consider switching to pSX, way more accurate emulation.
For ePSXe, -loadbin <file> parameter should work.

But pSX doesn't look as good when using plugins on epsxe and it has dithering direct from the PS1.
It has more accurate emulation, exactly like I said.

We aren't stuck with processors from 2006. The game isn't unplayable.
Even with that, it needs far more tweaking than should be necessary to get it at a decent speed. Had to fiddle with the multiplier thingy several times to get a playable speed.

The point is that it isn't unplayable... There are a bunch of games that need a tweek here and there to be able to play them at their optimal state but that's PC gaming...
