the society seems to be set up more along Roman lines but the military are definitely WW2 Germany - that submarine episode was like watching Das Boot at times!

On the one hand the first episode was incredibly entertaining and well written.
On the other hand if I end up going back to an MMO as a result of this show I'm going to be pissed. Keep telling yourself. They aren't that fun and exciting. It's the same shit over and over every day...

The fault lies in the way the material was handled... They butchered everything because they had to please every girl fan ( except rin ) and the rest was an afterthought

So overall that was kinda bad. I loved the references to western culture, and there was some funny moments, but it really bothered me the whole focus on being dirty for the sake of being dirty. The cussing, the sex, the bondages, etc. were not funny, and they didn't serve any purpose in the end.
Also screw that ending.

Too bad there isn't a Log Horizon MMO, would have been hooked by that in a second.
Now I have to wait to return to FFXIV when it comes out on PS4.

It was a nice ending, and they saved some pretty awesome effects and action for the final episode. Some of that stuff isn't even in the manga! Neither is the entire epilogue, which is a great way for an otherwise on-going story to tie up a TV series thematically. The show started with an anime original town festival, and it ends on the same note. Lots of cute animations in the epilogue too. There was one extremely lewd scene in the episode which totally made me go >_< though. Awful! Why are such talented people also such perverted people?! ~_~
Definitely looking forward to watching more when the new OAD series concludes in the middle of next year. Long wait though! ._.
