Anyone else bothered by how calling someone a cuckold became a go-to pejoritive?

I know you're a racist troll who doesn't respond seriously to anything, but I will explain my post to clarify this logic to others:

Racism in cuckold porn is based on the racist stereotype of black men being more animal-like (as well as Asian men being not masculine). Playing up the "black dudes have so much bigger dicks" and other ways of dehumanizing black or Asian men with stereotypical comments implying that black men are only good for sex or that Asian men cannot satisfy their SOs is racism. Avoiding those racist elements avoids racism as a whole with regards to the cuckolding fetish regardless of the races of the individuals involved.

Holy shit. Excuse me?

I don't even know how to respond to that. All I know is you are asking people to research pornography, which sounds like an awful idea.

The fetish is fine unless you play into the racist elements.

The insult is entirely the sexist and racist elements.

I think you can make an argument about the racist elements, but I don't let it define the word as a whole. That said how is it sexist?

At the very least it's been a good word to let me know who I should stop bothering to talk to at all. If they're fans of saying cuck, SJW, etc etc seriously then they aren't worth my time.

I have never heard the word 'cuck' used casually. My only experience with the word has been related to looking into the 'swinging lifestyle'. That said if I did hear used caually I would be the same way.

My previous girlfriend and I both tried it twice each and thought it was great. *shrugs*

Just curious how did this effect your relationship?

Well regardless, we didn't. Simply choose who we thought was the hottest. She had white guys both times and I had asian girls both times. It just simply worked out that way because those were the only two races that responded for each of us.

As someone who has experimented in the past with different lifestyles, more power to you for trying it.

I view the use of "cuck" as one of the many methods in which language is used to attack one's manhood. I don't think the term it's based on originally had racial connotations, but the fact that the meme originated from 4chan makes it impossible to deny that a racial layer exists to it.

I'm not at all bothered by it. Guys are always going to rag on one another.

Like most internet jokes and memes it's getting worn out. Like those emoji floating heads for example.

I never found it particularly funny, but the fact that it's getting some obsessive internet folk worked up is pretty amusing. So I guess I'll support it for the time being.

"Cuck" is used by paranoid white supremacists who think of women as possessions. This is one of the core elements of the insult. If "your woman" has sex with another man, then you've had your possession stolen by another man and therefore are weak. Considering that black men are usually portrayed as the "bulls", the insult is to mean that you are so weak, you could have "your possessions stolen by an animal."

Words are defined in conversation by how people use them.

The whole "cuck" think exploded on 4chan when its users went on some conspiracy that moot was cheated on by his girlfriend (wasn't true but when has that ever mattered to channers?). This was also just after moot banned GG from 4chan, so there was still a lot of rage about that. So they started calling him a cuck, and the insult just stuck ever since. It is quickly replacing "fag" and "faggots" as the go-to insult on 4chan.

That subreddit that hated on GAF used to refer to GAFfers almost as exclusively as "autists" or "cucks" or "fags" that's the first place I really started seeing this as a ubiquitous insult.

You're confused, some who is cheated on wouldn't associated with that lifestyle. These guys are choosing to be with and be present when their wifes/gf/etc are fucking other guys.

Vice Doc on that lifestyle. http://www.vice.com/en_uk/read/watch-mandingo-part-one-now

I'm not confused, I know there is such a thing as a "cuckold lifestyle", it's just that that's a very specific subset of the meaning of "cuckold". When Internet Jerks insult people as "cucks" are they all sharing that specific understanding? Surely more than zero of them saw it first as an insult, looked up the term and got the Wikipedia definition "The term cuckold refers to the husband of an adulterous wife." and stopped there. Watching your lover bone is neither necessary nor sufficient to establish cuckoldry.

Given that a big part of participating in 4chan and other Mean Internet circles is maintaining appearance of in-group expertise (ie not being a "newfag" or whatever), there are for sure a ton of people using "cuck" more-or-less totally ignorant of what it does or can mean, whose understanding of it is fractured at best.

It's complicated as an insult because it encapsulates a wide range of behaviors and phenomenon.

[thorough, quality post]

Totally. I was asking dude because I'm interested in watching people who subscribe to this kind of thing articulate themselves.

on another forum i post on, it's like the main insult around which all other insults are formed, and it's fucking hilarious to me because the forum is made up of a bunch of single, loser 20-somethings just shouting at each other about cucking.

I find the degradation of the word "autism" to mean "nerd" (if not just "person I don't agree with") instead of an actual condition much more annoying.

It makes perfect sense among a certain class of lunatic.

In what I will for this post call the conflict model of sexuality, masculinity is about power, and sex is about proving your masculinity and power by forcing it on somebody who doesn't have any -- that is, women. By having sex with a woman you're proving your power over her, because women are assumed to not want to have sex, and over her family, who is supposed to help protect her from you, and of course there's even more power if you get them pregnant because now your family has taken over theirs. If you convince her to want to have sex with you again, that's even more proof of your masculinity, because your sexuality has dominated her and overridden the assumed distaste she has for sex.

This is why you teach your daughters to avoid and fear sex -- to keep them safe from people who want to take their power. This is why a daughter who has sex has shamed her family -- even if she was raped. This is also where sexual degradation comes into play -- as Orwell will tell you, the only way to be sure you have power is to use it to force somebody to do something they don't like. And if you can force them to like it afterwards, that's even better.

If you shake this model hard enough, in fact, pretty much all of the often weird and inconsistent stereotypes about gay people, sexual promiscuity, transgendered people, etc., will fall out of it.

Obviously there's a lot of conflict sexuality floating around, implicit in our society but also explicit in certain reactionary groups, especially white supremacists, for whom race and sex and power are inevitably entangled. Another good reference would be ISIS and their rape camps, which work on more or less the same lines as white racial purity groups, just with more practical application.

In this model there are a few ways to shame another man. One way is to rape him and prove your power over him that way, which does happen. But another way is to have sex with his woman -- because if your sexual power can dominate her and convince her to prefer sex with you over sex with him, then pretty obviously you have a lot more sexual power than he does.
There you go, thanks for the steps. I genuinely didn't think to put it into perspective this way because that's a pretty fucked up worldview to hold in 2015 TBH.

Hmm the more you know. I just knew the cheating and getting off on it side of things. Me and a buddy make of fun each other using this word sometimes. Had no idea there was a racial component behind it.

Coded language is getting old.

I find it so weird that people are actually using it seriously. It's basically a giant /pol/ meme from what I've seen and that place is basically a walking Poe's law.

Not to say I agree or disagree, but I'm going to have to think about this before forming an opinion.

I've been on Something Awful for over 10 years (not saying you are talking about there), and I don't think I ever heard it used over there. That said there are certain sub-forums I never visit. I might do a search just out of curiosity.

For me? This is similar to a gamer using "rape" in real life to someone who hasn't heard it in used that context. Might not be the best example, but the one that comes to mind now.

My posts have been based on real world individuals who use the term, then there is apparently the internet groups which use it in that manner. If it was used in such a manner with the real world subjects, I'm not sure they would pick up how it's being applied to them in all honesty. At least for now.

I've noticed an upswing in the use of the word as an insult when the extreme racists started using the chan sites. (And considering the POS already on the chans, that's an achievement of sorts) I love it, because any interracial sex pics or videos get these guys going on racist rants about white women letting themselves down, while people are telling them to fuck off they're just here to masturbate.

The porn is weird. It's always some black "bull" and then the husband is some fat white guy begging the bull dude to shoot his seed in her. Really strange stuff.

i think something awful is too 'smart' for shitty meme pejoratives like cuck, haha. they're usually ahead of the curve, in my experience.

yeah, people use the term seriously for what it means to them, but it becomes overused and basically some people throw it out as a joke because it's ridiculous
like "feminazi" or that kind of shit, I guess ?

It didn't really. It was simply another outlet at our disposal in regards to sex. It lost its appeal kind of quickly and we didn't really try to do it again. Too much of a hassle because you have to prepare for it and it becomes a big event. I would have been cool with it if she wanted to continue though. It's a weird thing because I didn't experience any jealousy whatsoever but I have experienced jealousy in past relationships. Maybe because it was so open and with nothing to hide. Don't know. Probably explore it more if given the chance.

The real deal stuff is apparently even more freakier. Like husbands renting two hotel rooms next to each other so they can hear their wife's having sex with the 'bull' who'll creampie her.

Then she'll return to hubby next door so he can 'clean' her up with his tongue.

Very grim stuff. But it's obviously a real lifestyle to a lot of people.

Ok? I'm not claiming it's the new go to insult because some cesspool of a site uses it.

But it is the new go to insult because 4chan uses it. when something becomes memetic on 4chan the rest of the internet will pick up on it because 4chan has a lot of users and a lot of cross pollination with other site.

Yep you are correct, and thanks for reminding me why I never visit certain sub-forums anymore. Still my daily go to, and I will always be a goon.

Cuck doesn't even need to apply to sexual relationships. A person who has their ice cream taken by their sibling could be called a cuck, and it would have nothing at all to do with racism, sexism, or white supremacy. If you're going by just the porn/4chan version, than maybe it has to do with those. But most people aren't using cuck as a way to get their outdated, racist, sexist view points out without saying crazy shit.

Wait, what the fuck?

Why would you call somebody a cuck if they had their ice cream taken? Break that down a little.

The full word is "cuckold," which has a specific meaning and has been used for centuries.

Sure, some are ignorant as to the meaning of that word but that's on them. I personally like to understand the meaning of the words I use.

Seems like on the more crappy parts of the net, calling someone a "cuck" or suffixing the work "cuck" after a word became this popular catch-all insult.

I have a feeling it has to do with the sexist and racist connotations attached to the word and the context it's used in. Calling someone (usually a straight white male) a cuckold implies that they're a loser because they're not only sexually inadequate, but their significant other is having sex with someone else on the side, usually implied to be this stereotypical depiction of a virile black man.

I know it came from 4chan, but it's seem to spread all over the net. I've seen it being used on random subreddits, tweets, and even on twitch chat. It's just so dumb. Fuck anyone who says this shit.

You sound incredibly sensitive. Your entire post is explaining, effectively, what an insult sounds like. Insults are a thing you know? You don't get to prevent people from saying things just because it offends you.
