PS4 Remote Play working on any (rooted) Android 4.4+ phone

I think I saw in the xda thread that the developers are aware of that and working on it. Though it appears that Sony obfuscated the .apk much more this time, so it may take awhile.
One user on xda found a way to get the updated remote play app to work on Cyanogenmod/AOSP based ROMs (and maybe even stock roms) but you need to have recovery.

Install Rootcloak

Reboot
Uninstall the remote play app
Install the latest version of the remote play app from here - http://www.mediafire.com/download/q2fk5i7ch3aaxf1/com.playstation.remoteplay-1.2.0.apk
Place the remote play app under rootcloak
Reboot
Pair with PS4 and technically should work

If you open up the remote play app and you get an error that probably means rootcloak isn't working, which is my situation. For some reason it supposedly only works on AOSP/stock roms (although I could have sworn I got rootcloak working on my modified touchwiz rom some time ago when I was fiddling around with the LoveLive game).

And it seems that now you can play with your ds4 connected by usb with no problems at all.
Working ok in two tablets that way, with my main account and all that.
PS: pad gestures don't work, the click does.
PS2: On my nexus 7 it works fine, on my lenovo b8000 (a less powerful tablet but with integrated stand and bigger screen) works but with very noticeable lag as in good for playing Gwent, not for doing monster contracts

I don't know what trick is that, you log into your account to authorize the app and then that's the one you use from the device.

Is this still the latest apk/download and info? I just got a Note 5, my first Android phone. And I have a Mac at home. the instructions are a bit unclear for me. I download the apk on my home computer? It says to ABD the file? What is that? Can I do that on a Mac? Like a command line or in the console? Im only familiar with Mac and Linux, windows not so much.
Or alternativly how does one "copy and install" the file from their pc/mac? I got the phone out of town and have yet to return home. So not even sure how it even interfaces yet.
Would this otg cable work for the DS4?
Also, in refrence to your third edit. This only works through the direct connection option? Not over the network wifi? Or that is only what you tried?

This was my main way I did RP on Vita, so I could use the DS4, but I dont understand hows its possible on a phone? How do you connect to the PS4 on the phone to the sub account?
Reardless this still has the issue have needing to be close to the PS4 I am assuming.
anyways, I ordered an OTG cable off ebay, anyone know if this should work on a Note 5? Its coming from HK, so it will be a few weeks before it arrives. 8 in. micro USB to Micro USB

I guess this thread is a bit dead. Anyways I cant seem to get the alt account trick to work. I found the login in settings in the app, I log in to my alt account, then connect to the PS4, but it always logs into my main account, no matter what sign in I do. Ive tried restarting the ps4, restarting the app, tried logging out on the ps4 and switching users. But Im ussually locked out of those settings while RPing, or I get disconnected. Is the sign in options busted in the latest apk?
